Devota à deusa Diana, Camila desde muito nova foi treinada nas artes da caça e da guerra, além de surpreender por sua beleza, extrema velocidade e habilidade em combate. Apresentada no catálogo de guerreiros do sétimo livro da Eneida, Camila é uma personagem feminina cuja criação acredita-se ser quase exclusiva de Virgílio, pois ela não aparece em nenhum outro documento literário ou epigráfico anterior à Eneida (Mota 2020, 134). Desse modo, o poema é a principal fonte para tratarmos dessa personagem.

As fontes fornecem poucos detalhes sobre sua vida, não encontramos a descrição de sua aparência, origem, infância etc. Sua aparição se dá já adulta como ama de Rômulo e Remo, e esposa de Fáustulo, ou como a meretriz que doou sua herança aos romanos.

A Divina Comédia, de Dante Alighieri, foi escrita no século XIV. Inicialmente intitulada Comédia,... more A Divina Comédia, de Dante Alighieri, foi escrita no século XIV. Inicialmente intitulada Comédia, recebeu o atual título somente no século XVI. O autor é narrador-personagem e assume o papel de protagonista. Esse realiza uma viagem por um cosmos dividido em Inferno, Purgatório e Paraíso. Dante tem como guia Virgílio, um dos maiores poetas da Antiguidade e autor da Eneida. Durante a jornada, Dante se depara com seus contemporâneos, pessoas públicas e/ou de sua vida pessoal, além de personagens reais da Antiguidade e/ou mitológicos. A obra é repleta de simbolismos e Dante faz uma descrição bastante detalhada das situações e ambientes que vai encontrando pelo caminho. A finalidade da obra é a salvação, tanto do autor-personagem, quanto da humanidade. Para tanto, Dante utiliza as experiências transmitidas nos mitos para descrever, exemplificar e construir sua narrativa. O presente artigo tem como recorte a jornada de Dante pelo Inferno. Desta parte foram retiradas algumas passagens que exemplificam a ideia aqui defendida. No Inferno dantesco é possível verificar mais claramente a relação do autor com mitos e elementos da Antiguidade.

XIII-XIV) e participou nos conflitos entre Papado e Monarquia. Após ser exilado, Dante se dedica à produção d’A Divina Comédia, a fim de criticar a sociedade. O presente artigo propõe uma análise das representações dos conflitos político-religiosos percebidos no Inferno de Dante.

A Divina Comédia é um poema que foi produzido por Dante Alighieri, poeta e político de Florença, ... more A Divina Comédia é um poema que foi produzido por Dante Alighieri, poeta e político de Florença, que viveu na passagem do século XIII para o século XIV. A obra narra a peregrinação de Dante-personagem pelo mundo dos mortos, o qual é composto por: Inferno, Purgatório e Paraíso. Dante elabora uma descrição extremamente rica em detalhes sobre a região infernal, apontando características do ambiente, criaturas e personagens distribuídos pelo local. Sabendo disso, nota-se que o poema dantesco, considerado um clássico da literatura, é constantemente utilizado por pesquisadores que buscam compreender alguns elementos pertencentes ao contexto medieval, principalmente no que diz respeito às representações do Inferno e os seres que ali habitam. Entretanto, a análise dos elementos que compõem o Inferno de Dante nos permite problematizar e pensar as representações do Inferno sob diferentes perspectivas. Portanto, abordaremos algumas possibilidades que A Divina Comédia nos fornece para o estudo das representações do Inferno no medievo.

XIII para o séc. XIV. Após ser exilado por motivos políticos, ele se dedica à produção de obras que visavam problematizar questões da sociedade e denunciar sujeitos que causavam algum infortúnio à Florença. A fim de solucionar esses conflitos, Dante propõe o estabelecimento de uma Monarquia Universal, a qual seria capaz resolver todos os problemas identificados em Florença.
