The choice of a Gambassino glassmaker, to whom to entrust such a prestigious and territorially extended assignment, is of interest, but it is not surprising if we consider the notoriety that the valdelsan glassmakers (mainly Gambassini and Montaionesi) had earned during the Middle Ages, also favoured by the fact that, until the dawn of the Modern Age, the Murano glassmakers were forbidden to emigrate. The analysis of the contract and the family history of Lancillotto are proposed in this study.
