The first phase of the process comprises the archeological collections. The data are stored in CR (Central Register).Up to now 16,000 archeological items has been processed. The National Museum was founded in 1895. In the Branicevo district the Museum is the main cultural institution and in it we have objects from the entire territory of this district in our collections. This is a complex type of a museum with archaeological, ethnological, historic and history of art collections and a lapidarian in front of the main museum building. In archaeological department we have four different collections: Prehistoric, Antique, Viminacium collection and Medieval collection. In our four facilities there are permanent exhibitions such as the one in The Ethno Park Museum. In the main museum building there is an archaeological exhibition; in The Miodrag Markovic Gallery there is an art exhibit...

The first traces of a settlement originate from the Neolithic period. This is the first anthropological analysis ever performed on the Margum/Morava material, although the site itself has been archaeologically investigated since the beginning of the 20 th century, and many burials were found, from Bronze Age, Roman times, Migration period, Byzantine period and the Middle Ages. The anthropological analysis published here presents the results of the excavations performed in 2011. Even though the number of graves analysed here is modest-a total of 8 graves (we took into account only non-devastated graves for this analysis), they produced exciting results that will help us shed light on the living conditions in this area. Most frequent changes on bones were the ones that can be connected with occupational stress, osteoarthrosis and dental diseases, but also fractures and infections resulting from injuries, metabolic stress and even two possible cases of tuberculosis.

Trough lectures, workshops and practice on the field, participants were trained to recognize and indentify risks in their museums, and how they should act in emergency situation and protect the cultural heritage as well as define the plan for action in the crisis situation.

Documentation that existed before digitisation is: the entrance book, the inventory book (separate for each collection), photo documentation (negatives of original objects), inventory charts (different type for different collections) and documentation about excavations. The digitisation process started in 2006, and it involved curators (all curators responsible for collections), document assistants and photographers. In the first phase we started digitisation of all archaeological collections: Prehistoric, Antique, Viminacium collection and Medieval collection. We have proceeded over 16 000 objects so far. Parallel with digitisations we are doing revisions of objects and collections. All the objects are archaeologically processed, photographed and loaded in Central Registry. In CR all collections have their numbers:

Portraits, reliefs, and icons are important testimonials of cultural history, cults and art in this part of Roman Empire.
The displayed monuments are different in design and dimensions and chronologically they belong to the period between the 1st and the 4th century AD, while their territorial origin is from Viminacium (Kostolac), Margum (Dubravica), Lederata (Ram) and Municipium (Kalište).
A great influence on the monuments that are in our collection of stone sculptures comes from workshops in Asia Minor, se we conclude that the population from Asia Minor was very present in this area.Various influnces affected differences in quality but each and every item has a distinctive mark of the wokrshop it was made in.
The collection of stone monuments contains a great number of portraits (deities, rulers and private portraits). Idealisation is obvious in the portraits of rulers (Carus) and deities (Diana, Victoria, Hercules, Apollo,Venus, Mithras) which occured under the influence of ruler cults - imperial cult.
The portrayal of people help us follow certain trends in the Roman Empire and they are reflected in the hairstyles of men and women. Their style of clothing and hair were marked by their social status, period and political and religious beliefs.
By making pedestals, we achieved the goal we had when it was decided to start with stone plastic conservation. Sculptures and portraits are now ready to be displayed, the authenticity of the objects is preserved with minimal interventions, the transfer and handling is facilitated because the pedestals and objects can be transported and stored separately, and we must not neglect the reversibility of the elements either. By choosing granite of a darker colour for making pedestals, the objects come to their full expression. Cast footing replaced the missing parts, and this method of restoration clearly shows the difference between the original item and the added parts. Additional stability is achieved with a system of sleeve anchors.
