This study focuses on the importance of the use of the epics in Turkish and Social Science lessons and examines epics in Turkish and Social Science textbooks. Between 2016 and 2017, thetype of epics texts that are in the Turkish and Social Science textbooks, verbal items that they carry are identified and evaluated, such as idioms, compound verbs, doublings, metaphors, terms, proverbs, reflection words, pattern words and special names. Qualitative research method document review technique was used in the study.
