    The Centre for Reference and Training in Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Aids Secretariat of Health of São Paulo conducted extensive activity testing for HIV andsyphilis in the female prison system between 2012 and 2013, in partnership withthe Department of Corrections - SAP. 8,914 women were enrolled. Of these, 2,947were in prison in the capital and 5,967 inside. It was found that 2.8% of them had apositive result for HIV and 7% for rapid screening test for syphilis. The prevalencerate of HIV in the general population is 0.4% and 1.6% for syphilis. The average ageof the population tested was 34.3 years. Women deprived of liberty who participatedin this survey received information pre and post test for syphilis and HIV. Serviceprofessionals involved were trained for this orientation. In the case of positivityfor HIV or syphilis we guaranteed the procedures for monitoring and treatmentestablished by SUS. The project aimed at determining the seroprevalence of HIVand syphilis in the studied population, tracing the profile of women deprived of theirliberty in relation to the information about syphilis and HIV, giving good guidancerelated to the fangs and providing greater assistance for health STD/HIV/Aids byestablishing a sustainable manner, the reference and counter system. By 2015, weintend to develop and implement regionally in a progressive way, the project ofSTD/Aids Proposal for Integrated Care of prisoners Health, in partnership withSAP. It is the first action of this size in the state of São Paulo. This is an initiativethat can contribute to improve the quality of life of women, with effects on thecontrol of vertical transmission of HIV and syphilis.
