To fully understand their behavior in electrical circuits, an interpretable model is required that, in addition, can be simulated efficiently. This paper presents a model for a MEMS variable capacitor (varicap), that can be evaluated much more efficiently and equally accurate during circuit simulation than the differential equations

The concomitant increase in amino acid transport across the cell membrane appears to be responsible for the stimulation of protein synthesis due to the increased availability of intracellular amino acids. Since changes in the ionic composition of the incubation buffers are capable of completely reversing the PEMF effects, it would appear that the observed metabolic effects may well be obtained through ionic modifications induced by PEMF.<>

Until now, nanoscaled IDEs have been realized on silicon wafers using deep UV lithography or e-beam patterning. However, for many applications in the biochemical field there is a strong need for cheap and/or disposable sensor devices. Therefore, a new, cost effective fabrication method for

The program provides insight into the behavior of mixers, multipliers, and AGC amplifiers. This analysis tool is part of the symbolic simulator ISAAC, and it can reduce the design time of the above-mentioned circuits by giving insight into conversion gain, intermodulation distortion, and noise that mixes with signals. Analytic expressions make it possible to identify the dominant parameters that determine the circuit's nonlinear behavior

In this work, we investigate technological solutions both at the process integration and layout levels to alleviate these limitations. Layout guidelines are derived to improve the RF performance. For an optimized layout folding, experiments indicate 15% gain in fT.

This model is extensively tested on a 0.18 μm CMOS technology. Bulk bias dependence is modeled physically and no extra parameter is needed for long channel transistors. The repeatability of the measurement system and parameter extraction has been investigated. It is shown that for the measurement set-up and test structures, measurements in the linear region are affected by contact resistance variation for devices broader than 4 μm
