La calidad de vida de los peruanos puede mejorar si su entorno cambia. Un aspecto central para ello es el manejo adecuado de los residuos s?lidos municipales, cuya responsabilidad recae en alrededor de 190 municipios provinciales y m?s de 1800 municipios distritales. Este trabajo plantea diversos mecanismos que pueden usar los municipios para afrontar el manejo de los residuos s?lidos, mecanismos que depender?n de la magnitud de los costos implicados. Para ello se analizan desde modelos de gesti?n privada integral, mediante esquemas de concesi?n en el marco de las asociaciones p?blico privadas, hasta los de gesti?n directa municipal, en el caso de que los costos privados superen a los p?blicos. Los modelos estudiados son, en su mayor parte, de gesti?n mixta, que cuentan con posibilidades de apoyo y financiamiento internacional y en los cuales los riesgos del proyecto se comparten entre el sector p?blico y el privado. A chromatographic study of the distillates obtained from selected Spanish oil shales has been carried out and the results has been related to the organic constituents identified by microscopy and the measured vitrinite reflectance. The oil shales differ in geological age, depositional environment, source location and degree of maturity. The chromatographic profiles have shown that unrelated samples of different origin (lacustrine and marine) had similar and peculiar alkane/alkene fingerprints with odd n-alk-1-ene dominance and even n-alkane dominance in the medium boiling point region. This might be attributed to a common bacterial source or more likely to a common diagenetic route generating similar products from an originally different material. All the lacustrine samples containing Botryococcus have shown an odd predominance of n-alkane in the high boiling point region and also relatively large amounts of long paraffins regardless their maturity. The hopanes identified in the pyrolysates indicated higher concentration of the less stable configurations than that found in the extracts and allowed the establishment of differences in maturity for samples with a similar maturation degree as determined by vitrinite reflectance.

Two lignites (Mequinenza, Spain) and two subbituminous coals (Teruel, Spain), their demineralized derivatives (HCl/HF + HCl) and their corresponding derived vitrinite concentrates were submitted to hydroliquefaction in tetralin in fixed conditions to study a possible synergism of vitrinite concentrates in the original coal matrix.Sufficiently pure amounts of vitrinite concentrates were isolated by a method based on differential centrifugation in CsCl.

Several kinds of wireless communication systems, such as IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth, HomeRF, and cordless telephones, have been developed to run in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. In many cases, these technologies are complementary rather than competing, and are likely to coexist in the same environment. This paper presents experimental results of the coexistence tests among these different systems working in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. The main goal of this work is to determine how the performance of 802.11b is degraded by the existence of such other devices in the neighborhood. This should be the first step towards a better coexistence solution for IEEE 802.11b WLAN in this band
