Abstract This study highlights realities and/or abstractions which wrap up Negro-African novels of French expression. Indeed, some constructions described as " Ivoirism " are hardily understandable by the non initiated speaker. Yet, it works like a particular linguistic expressivity which seems to represent a tool for identity construction used by Ivorian writers Ahmadou KOUROUMA and Jean Marie ADIAFFI. The example of an analysis of pragmatics in " Allah n'est pas obligé " and " Les naufragés de l'intelligence " depict the readability of these " Ivoirisms " pointing thus out the writers intentions.
