A detailed analysis of the mechanical response of materials can be effectively used in the elucid... more A detailed analysis of the mechanical response of materials can be effectively used in the elucidation of the structure–property relationship of polymers. A methodology to quantify the viscous, elastic and plastic components on the analysis of the mechanism of failure is used for characterizing the visco-elastic and plastic behavior of the casein films. A thorough study on the influence of temperature on chemically modified casein seems to give some important information on the thermal transition behavior of this material.
