It is estimated that the global mortality related to AMR is roughly 700,000 per year and is expected to rise to 10 million annually by 2050. Healthcare facilities are among the main contributors of antimicrobial resistance. This study aims to identify the existence of antibiotic resistance bacteria in the air environment of the primary health facility (Puskesmas). Ten samples were collected in 4 different places of indoor environment in Puskesmas Ibrahim Adjie, Bandung, West Java. Antibiotic resistance bacteria (ARB) first selected by growing in 5 different selective media. There are 265 colonies which then selected and identified respectively by using Kirby-Bauer Method with Amoxicillin and Microgen Biochemical Identification. Three dominant bacteria Stenotrophomonas (Xanthomonas) maltophilia, Pseudomonas stutzeri and Serratia marcescens, were found. Those bacteria are not the main ...

Lovastatin is one of the statin class of drugs that have efficacy as antihypercholesterolemic. Plasmid transformation is the introduction and incorporation of exogenous plasmid into cells orprotoplast. In this study, pTRLI plasmid (pTRI inserts containing lovE gene as a regulator gene in the biosynthesis of lovastatin) will be transformed by electroporation transformation. The purpose of this research is transformation of pTRLI plasmid into protoplasts of Aspergillus terreus by electroporation and obtain stable transformants. The research was initiated by isolation of pTRLI plasmid. Then pTRLI plasmid was determined purity and concentration by nanodrop. Furthermore, Protoplasts of Aspergillus terreus were isolated enzymatically by adding an enzyme which can degrade the cell wall of Aspergillus terreus which contains chit...

Prediksi toksisita...

The terpenoids were isolated by using vacuum liquid chromatography and radial chromatography. The structures of the compounds were determined based on spectroscopic data (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR (1D and 2D)). The antibacterial activity was carried out by using microdilution method and evaluated against eight bacteria. Three germacrane type sesquiterpenes have been isolated from C. heyneana rhizhomes and were identified as germacrone, dehydrocurdione, and 1(10),4(5)-diepoxygermacrone. Germacrone showed highest antibacterial activity against P. aeruginosa with MIC values of 15.6 µg/mL and MBC values 31.2 µg/mL. Dehydrocurdione showed highest antibacterial activity against B. subtilis with MIC values of 31.2 µg/mL and MBC values of 31.2 µg/mL. However, 1(10),4(5)-diepoxygermacrone showed a weak antibacterial activity.

Methods: The subject was the Indonesian RA patients and healthy control subjects. We were determined the correlation between age, disease duration, and ESR uses statistical analysis. The subjects who participated in the present study are patients who visit the Rheumatology clinic at one governmental hospital in Bandung City, Indonesia. ESR was determined by the modified Westergren's method. R software was conducted to data analysis. Results: The number of subjects was 16.17% of men and 83.33% of women with the range from 20 to 77 y old. All patients received the combination of disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs, analgesic, and corticosteroid. The average of disease duration was 8.08+5.73 y. The experimental ESR of the RA patients was 22.50+12.23 mm/h for men and 31.75+15.03 mm/h for women. This value is only slightly higher than the normal value. We suggested that treatment with combination therapy can maintain the ESR. Conclusion: Spearman's correlation showed that there is no correlation between age and disease duration (rho = 0.325), between age and ESR (rho =-0.285), and between disease duration and ESR (rho = 0.039).
