Nobody has excelled in so many fields or dominated the culture to the extent that Tagore has. None could have better summed up his personality than Dr.Sreenivasa Iyengar, who said,
“Tagore was a poet, dramatist, actor, producer; he was a musician and painter; he was an educationist, a practical idealist who turned his dreams into reality at Shantiniketan; he was a reformer, philosopher, prophet; he was a novelist and a short story writer and a critic of life and literature; he even made occasional incursions into nationalist politics, although, he was essentially an internationalist, he was thus many persons, he was a darling of versatility and still he was the same man; he was an integral whole, the Rishi, the Gurudev….

While explaining the meaning of humanization of God, he said ‘Humanization of God does not merely mean that God is God of humanity but also it mean that it is the God in every human being. According to Tagore the essence of religion is humanity. It is this human aspect which forms the basis of religion. Tagore believed that humanity and divinity do not belong to two different orders. They are just like two sides of the same coin. The aim of religion is to awaken the element of divinity that lie latent in man. To Tagore, religion should be always a uniting force but not a dividing force. True religion is that which accepts the unity of all people instead of their differences in religious faiths. True religion is inner development of the individual that makes a man to rise above his society, country and sect. True religion is the realization of one’s own nature. The poem reveals Tagore’s idealistic vision of India where there is no fear, no boundaries, no superstitions, no dogmas and blind beliefs; where his countrymen would stand up for truth, hard work, perfection and progress of the country. Tagore like other patriots wrote many patriotic poems and songs during freedom movement. Like all other patriots he wanted India to be free from alien. But his concept of freedom is different. Tagore’s concept of freedom not only political but superior in all respects. His concept of freedom was not only freedom from western imperialism, colonial domination but also freedom from religion, freedom from superstition, freedom from blind beliefs and perceptions. According to Tagore political freedom is not alone enough unless there is social freedom. Like Gandhi and Nehru Tagore was not a politician in professional sense he was a political thinker, a man of great vision. According Tagore not only British rule but also extreme sense of communal conflicts, social inequalities, regionalism casteism superstitions and ignorance are stumbling block to the progress of the country. The main objective of this paper is to explore his vision of India and his concept of freedom relevant even today.

In the context of many Indian language class rooms, grammar and vocabulary are given due importance but there is no conscious effort on practicing pronunciation. Poor pronunciation not only leads to misunderstanding but also creates negative impression and confusion. Learners with bad pronunciation are judged as lack of knowledge, incompetent and they will be misunderstood. There are several factors that influence pronunciation such as native language interference, amount of exposure, phonetic ability, cultural and educational back ground and motivation. Of all the influences the influence of native language is the most inhibiting and inherent factor that manifest in the form of mis pronunciation. When we learn English in childhood we learn to speak English fluently without mother tongue influence. When we learn English in later stage, we are unlikely to attain native like English accent. The first section of the paper emphasizes the importance of pronunciation with reference to some research and reviews. The second section analyses various reasons for mother tongue influence in English communication and how to overcome the problem.

While teaching, they must keep in mind the mental ability and the grasping capacity of the learners. Effective teaching of a language is based on certain principles. The paper deals with the relation between teaching principles and learning abilities and also deals with the impact of motivation on learner's achievement. Introduction: English is a global language spoken by 700 hundred million people in the world after Chinese language. It is officially recognized all over the world. It is interesting to note that it is a language of library, language of media, language of trade, internet, commerce, business, international negotiations and higher education. It is the link language in India. The correspondence between two countries and the two states happens only through English. Since English is a language of International communication, learning English Language is a common goal for many people. The aim of teaching English in India is to enable the students to get command over the language. To enable the students to read, write and speak English fluently. But it is evident that most of the learners are not attaining their goal. Students are able to succeed in examination but they do not remember anything that they learned in their language classes nor do they get practical command over the language. Like history and science English is not knowledge subject it can't be learnt simply by memorizing the words and rules of grammar. It is a matter of practice. As Thompson & Wyatt stated that the power of expression in a language is a matter of skill rather than of knowledge. It is a power that grows by exercise not by knowing merely meanings or rules. Just as painting and dancing language is a skill subject that can be mastered only by continuous practice. To teach English language effectively, the teacher should keep in mind the following principles of language teaching:

Even though he clearly points out that “deliverance is not for me in renunciation”.
It can’t be denied that Tagore’s humanism is connected with his spiritualism. But his spiritualism does not make him reluctant of world and man, but brings him nearest to man and sometimes above God too.

It can’t be denied that Tagore’s humanism is connected with his spiritualism. But his spiritualism does not make him reluctant of world and man, but brings him nearest to man and sometimes above God too. Tagore remarks:

No other poet in history has perhaps earned so much honor in his life time as Tagore. No poet again has perhaps suffered public indignation as Tagore. For that he himself provided the answer “he desires for unity with the rest of the world”
Tagore’s humanism is clearly revealed in his universality and sense of identity with all men, in his revolt against all types of tyranny and injustice, in his repudiation of asceticism and his acceptance of life in its fullness, in his exaltation of the human reason, and the luminous quality of his faith and above all in his respect for the human personality.----- Humayun Kabir,

Humanism, originally the Renaissance, revival of the study of the classical (Latin Greek and Hebrew) literature for its own sake, rather than of medieval scholasticism, in a broader sense it has came to mean a philosophy centered on man and human values, exalting human free will and superiority to the vast of nature : man is made the measure of all things

Of the two hundred short stories which Tagore wrote about twenty are pearls of the purest variety. Tagore’s novels deal with social problems of a fundamental nature – the woeful conditions of Hindu widows and the emergence of a new type of woman in quest of self-fulfillment. Tagore’s novels as a whole suggest an emerging pattern seeking to encompass his vision of Indian reality and his adumbration of ideas about the nature of Indian society and culture caught up in the theories of radical change.

Many Andhra Pradesh's engineering colleges have incorporated presentation skills into their curricula with the goal of enabling students' effective presentation skills. Despite the importance of presentation skills, a lack of emphasis on this area in the classroom has a negative impact on students' career success. Although students are technically excellent, they are deemed incompetent for jobs due to a lack of presentation skills. There are numerous factors that can contribute to students' presentation failures. The primary goal of this paper is to identify the major barriers associated with presentations and how to overcome them by employing effective presentation strategies.

No doubt that they have excellent academic knowledge but lagging in communication skills. In the past engineering educations have focused merely on imparting academic knowledge but in this present context of globalization with higher levels of Technology and increasing competition mere Academic knowledge is not enough. What is more essential is education beyond academic knowledge.
One of the challenges in engineering education in India today is to improve the Communicative skills of the young engineers and prepare them for the workplace.
The main objective of this paper is To bring out the status of engineering students in rural colleges and to find out the reasons for
their poor communication skills.
To evaluate the traditional methods of teaching and to suggest innovative methods of teaching learning.
3. To suggest the measures for improving the communication skills among rural students.
