This study based on the primary data gathered through questionnaire survey based on a five point Likert scale from a sample of 80 undergraduates of Faculty of Management and commerce of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka academic year 2014/2015. Descriptive quantitative design was used in this research. For the data analysis, this study used descriptive analysis and graphical presentation by using SPSS software and Excel to analyze. The result revealed that mainly, there are three factors affecting undergraduates' difficulties in writing thesis, they are Psychological, Socio-cultural and Linguistics factors. (1) undergraduates' difficulties in psychological factors 3.55 as a mean value., (2) undergraduates' difficulties in sociocultural factors 3.25 as a mean value. (3) undergraduates' difficulties in linguistic factors 3.48 as a mean value. From the three factors it is concluded that psychological factor is the highest difficulties faced by undergraduates. Finally, it was found that first, dominant score of psychological factor is the self-esteem (35.14%) and they were difficulty in gaining the data of thesis (3.79) and difficulty in choosing the title of thesis (3.71). Second, dominant score of socio-cultural factor is the students-lecturer relationship (34.32%), and they were communication problems with supervisors (3.39). Third, dominant score of linguistic factor is the diction (34.64%), and they were difficulty choosing the right vocabulary (3.65) and difficulty using punctuation, capitalization (3.61).

It is very important to improve writing skills by avoiding spelling errors throughout this research. It is true that spelling errors are being done by everyone. Learners of English as second language face difficulties in using correct spelling in their day-today life. In the early stage of learning, pupils tend to use spelling correctly. Therefore, this effort would be much more effective for second language learners. English spelling is a difficult matter, therefore the world has trouble getting the right letters in English and it can expect to pose several spelling difficulties for students who learn the English language. Especially in this regard, the researcher has chosen three classes in grade 8 from Km/Al/Mazhar Girl's High school respectively for the research. This study tried to determine patterns of spelling mistakes committed and improve writing skills without any spelling errors. The 100 students from three classes were included in this research by using a simple random sampling method. Two tests were administered to check the writing skills of grade 8 students. The first one is dictating 20 words to write individually and the second one is filling the blanks by using suitable letters to get a meaningful word. As a result of both tests, mistakes were identified and discussed in detail right after the test. One single misspelled word is enough to change the whole meaning of the sentence. So that the researcher undertook the study on improving English writing skills by avoiding spelling errors and overcoming the problem faced by the student of grade 8 at KM/AL-Mazhar Girls' High School, Nintavur. The results show that 60% of the students committed errors in omission and insertion. 84% of students encountered difficulty in identifying silent letters in words. Further, the students have less vocabulary power and interest to improve their writing skills. This study serves to highlight one of the problems in English writing skills and spelling errors among grade 8 students.

To date, it has spread to more than 200 countries, and has been declared as a global pandemic. For appropriate preparedness, containment, and mitigation response, the stakeholders and policymakers require prior guidance on the propagation of SARS-CoV2. This study aims to provide such guidance by forecasting the cumulative COVID-19 cases up to 4 weeks ahead for 173 countries, using four data-driven methodologies; autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA), exponential smoothing model (ETS), random walk forecasts (RWF) with and without drift. We also evaluate the accuracy of these forecasts using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The results show that the ARIMA and ETS methods outperform the other two forecasting methods. Additionally, using these forecasts, we generated heat maps to provide a pictorial representation of the countries at risk of having...

This paper investigated the prevalence of Vesicovaginal Fistula in Kebbi State. The data collected were obtained through a descriptive survey design with the aid of a simple random sampling (SRS) procedure, eleven (11) local governments were used out of twenty-one (21) local governments area of Kebbi State of Nigeria with self-administered questionnaires. Descriptive Statistics and a test of independence were used in the analysis of the data. The result showed that the prevalence of patients with VVF was 43.1% relative to non-patients, and this was substantially high. The mean age of the respondents that experienced VVF was between 20-24 years and most of the VVF cases were experienced at the first birth or delivery. There were more housewives than civil servants (55.6% vs 24%) in the study. The highest number of respondents were from Birrin Kebbi local government. More than half (63.6%) of the respondents do not have knowledge about VVF which could be a strong factor in the prevalence of VVF in the study area. The study revealed that prolonged obstructive labor, female genital mutilation (FGM), early marriage, and mode of deliveries were all significant to VVF (with respective p-values 0

(A/L) in the academic year 2018-2020 at KM/ST/ Dharussalam Maha Vidyalaya, Sammanthurai. The specific objectives of the study are to identify the grammatical difficulties made by the students when accomplishing written tasks; to provide the language teachers with new techniques and methodologies of language teaching by analyzing the students' difficulties and to make the students aware about their syntactic errors. The Research samples were 30 monolingual students who learn English as their second language. These students were selected randomly. A pre-test and post-test which comprise grammatical and paragraph typed questions based on the General English subject were administered. A quantitative data analysis approach was implemented to analyze the pre and post test scores of the experimental and controlled group. EA method was deployed to analyze the grammatical errors. The findings of the study show that many students face difficulties in the grammatical components such as parts of the speech, syntactic structures and vocabularies due to lack of exposure to English language, mother tongue interference, incompetence in English grammar, incomplete application of rules, omission, addition, bad formation of sentences and redundant lexical choice. The study suggests assigning the students with plenty of written tasks continuously, using effective syntactic strategy in the authentic classroom to get the interests of the students, improving the skills on the grammatical components by using visual aids, strengthening teachers with smart classroom facilities to carry out the teaching process and building up the culture of using the second language in the learning and teaching process. These efforts as remedies are used to solve the difficulties faced in written tasks by G.C.E. (A/L) students when learning English as a second language in Sammanthurai. The study hopes to help the ESL teachers and educators to be familiar with the most frequent difficulties faced by L2 learners and to adopt appropriate strategy in preparing learning teaching activities.
