The complex phenomenon by which the body responds to any injury of skin or tissue is known as wound healing. A number of phases like exudative, proliferative, and extracellular matrix remodeling are orchestrated events to be occurred involving blood cells, parenchymal cells, and different soluble mediators. Different internal, as well as external factors, regulate the speed and quality of healing. The delay in wound healing process causes the chronic wound or scar formation. At the present moment, the upscale research for identification of agents causing accelerated healing is important. Moreover, the biocompatibility of the accelerators needs to be investigated. Recent biomedical researches for wound care target to provide antimicrobial protection as well as matrix scaffolding for quick repairing of the skin tissue. In recent studies with natural peptides have shown that they are important components in developing the nano-medicines for their usefulness and therapeutic efficiency. New therapeutic formulations can be developed using these natural peptides utilizing different nanoparticle delivery system. This review deals with the developmental study on efficient wound care system where the possible use of natural peptides in combination with nanomaterials has been explored. A trial has also been made on the findings made over the past few years on the use of peptides as tissue regenerating agents through effective wound healing pathway.

Birds play a crucial role in many food webs of aquatic ecosystem and the birds are known as good ‘bio-indicators’ as they are very sensitive to minor environmental changes. The present study was carried out in Purbasthali bird sanctuary of West Bengal (India) and its surroundings from January 2016 to December 2016 to explore the current status and diversity of avian fauna. The point count and line transect methods were implemented in bird counting. A total of 86 species of birds belonging to 31 families were recorded from the study area. Anatidae and Ardeidae were the dominant families with highest relative diversity. Residential status, IUCN Red list status and Relative abundance of bird species were also considered. Different diversity indices were also calculated. Purbasthali bird sanctuary supports a huge amount of bird diversity. So continuous monitoring of avian fauna and health condition of the ecosystem by local or state levels on taking integrated management programs will h...

Continental Common Pierrot (Castalius rosimon rosimon, Fabricius, 1775) is a small butterfly (24-34mm) found in South Asia that belongs to family: Lycaenidae, Sub Family: Polyommatinae, which has a fairly common distribution in West Bengal. During a field survey conducted on 15th of May 2019 at Shyamkhola, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal ,one Continental Common Pierrot (Castalius rosimon rosimon, Fabricius, 1775), has been observed with a genetic aberration. The dark colouration was located at the underside of both forewing and hindwing, ranging from the apical (touching the costal margin) to the basal region of forewing but did not touch the termen (outer margin), and sub-apical to post-basal region of hindwing. From literature survey and metadata analysis we have gathered the information that this genetic aberration of this species have not been observed before in West Bengal and we report this to be the first sighting.

The newspaper article covers Arnob Chakrovorty's bite on the sudden occurrence of Aularches miliaris (coffee locust) swarm at Jhargram, West Bengal, India, and a confirmatory record of the species of locust being documented. This report was aimed to appease the public that the documented species was not the plague-causing desert locust ( Schistocerca gregaria) responsible for the locust plague of 2020 in India. Graphene plays an etiologic role for the new edge drug designing in the area of therapeutic management of myriads of diseases. Several researchers have experimentally validated the use of graphene and its derivative either in chemical form or in their nano-form to provide a longer and better life to the patients suffering from cancer, diabetes, etc. In this review, we have tried to focus on the literature to understand molecular docking-based role of graphene as an anti-cancer and anti-diabetic therapeutic tool which is very pertinent in the extensive arena of pharmacology, from pharmacovigilance to pharmacodynamics and kinetics, that ameliorates and concords with the modern scientific approaches of disease management.

This study documents the distribution of Eupeodes (Metasyrphus) corollae Fabricius, 1794) from the state of Assam and Odisha for the first time. Assam falls under the general distributional range of the species in India but more importantly, the presence of the species in Odisha highlights a significant range extension of the species. This study critically highlights the importance of opportunistic entomofaunal sampling that can provide us with valuable data of great scientific relevance
