Multiple linear regression was used in analyzing the data gathered from respondents. Findings from the result of this study indicates that privatization is significant and positively related to efficiency of firms. Performance appraisal is one of the critical aspects of human resource management in every organi... more Performance appraisal is one of the critical aspects of human resource management in every organization. Performance appraisal may have a negative impact on motivation, role perceptions, and turnover, if the appraisal technique is poorly designed or administered. In Nigeria, most of the performance appraisal exercises programmes are used as some management of organizations tend to view it as a punitive measure, which may likely be the case in the selected deposit money banks in Lokoja under study. This study examined performance appraisal and employees' performance in selected deposit money banks in Lokoja, Kogi State. The population of this study consists of permanent employees of ten (10) banks in Lokoja, Kogi State, with the total staff strength of six hundred and three (603) while Taro Yamane sampling technique was used to determine the sample size of two hundred and forty-one (241). The questionnaire was used to generate the data and the hypotheses were tested using One-Sample T-test. The results revealed that appraisal techniques have a significant effect on employees' productivity in selected deposit money banks in Lokoja, Kogi state. Also, appraisal feedback system has a significant effect on employees' productivity in selected deposit money banks in Lokoja, Kogi State. The conclusion of the study showed that performance appraisal techniques must be designed by the management of the deposit money banks in Lokoja, Kogi State with inputs from employees' representatives in order to make them more objectives. The study recommended among others that the management should design Performance Appraisal criteria in conjunction with the employees' of the organizations, in order to earn sound employees' productivity. Also, the organisations' feedback should be timely, actionable and involve discussions of strengths and weaknesses of the employees', this will further enhance employees' productivity.

The study used descriptive research design in which a cross-sectional survey method was adopted. The method deals with quantitative data generated through questionnaire to answer the research questions and to test the hypotheses formulated.The population of the study consists of 200 employees both casual and non casual staff of west African ceramic company, Ajaokuta. while the sample size of one hundred thirty three (133) was determined using Taro Yamane (1973) sampling technique, 0ne hundred and twenty (120) questionnaire were filled and returned. Data were collected from the returned questionnaire and were analyzed using linear multiple regression .Findings reveal that continual improvement has significant influence on organizational performance as revealed by the regression result (Beta = 0.146; P =0.000 < 0.05).The study also discovered that employee involvement have significant effect on organizational performance (Beta = 0.339; P =0.000 < 0.05). The study concluded that employee involvement in training enhances innovative idea and quality products. The study recommends that organizations should set quality standard for each department and reward employee of departments that meets such quality. More also, organizations should keep track of effective customers satisfaction.

This study explores public private partnership as an effective means to infrastructural development of lokoja town. The study adopted survey method which involves the administration of structured questionnaire to collect primary data from respondents. The population of the study consist of the entire population of lokoja which stood at 195261 according to the 2006 census figure. To determine the sample size, the study adopted smith (1984) formula to arrive at a sample size of 397. Based on this, 397 questionnaire were distributed to respondents to elicit their view. 300 questionnaire were returned. The study made use of descriptive statistic and multiple linear regression analysis to test the hypothesis and analyze the data collected. Findings reveals that risk management is significant on infrastructural development based on the regression result (Beta =.409 ;P=0.000 < 0.05). The study also found that managerial expertise is significant on infrastructural development based on the regression result (Beta =.552 ;P=0.000 < 0.05). The study concludes that collaboration through public private partnership enhances infrastructural development and better standard of living in the area of social amenities. The study recommended that public private partnership should constitute stakeholders of high integrity to mitigate high risk factor in terms of Infrastructure Procurement. Also, the study recommends that quality project execution should be adhered to by all parties involved.

This study examined the effect of globalization on business performance of some selected deposit money banks in Gwarinpa ,Abuja. The population of the study consist of three hundred and sixty (360) staff of twelve (12) selected commercial banks with their branches located at Gwarinpa. The population of the staff was gotten from the various branches visited. A sample size of one hundred and eighty nine (189) was arrived at using Taro Yamen (1973) sampling technique. Questionnaire were administered to one hundred and eighty nine (189) staff of the selected banks ,one hundred and fifty (150) were filled and returned. Hypotheses were tested using simple linear regression analysis from data generated from the questionnaire. Findings reveal that transfer of technology, competitive advantage and globalization have significant effect on business performance of the selected banks in Abuja. The conclusion of the study showed that the banking sector has greatly been affected positively by globalization in the aspect of transfer of technology without boundary, It was also concluded that competitive advantage enables business managers and employee to provide the best and fastest services in the wave of competition. It was recommended that the management of the selected banks should strive to invest outside of the borders of their country, this would ease the transfer of technology and innovation. Also, Product quality should be key to management of financial institutions.

The study examined the relationship between micro finance bank and the growth of small medium enterprises in Nigeria. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consists of 100 selected SME's operators within Wuse business area Abuja, Simple random sampling technique was use to arrive at a sample size of 100. In other to address the objective of the study, structured questionnaire was employed as the research instrument used to obtain relevant information from 100 respondents and were all filled and returned. Descriptive statistics, cross tabulation and simple linear regression were used to analyze the data collected. Findings revealed that micro finance banks domestic fund transfer services contribute to the growth of small and medium enterprises, this is revealed by the regression result (Beta =0.500; P = 0.000 < 0.05). Also, the study also discovered that repayable loans provided to small medium enterprises enhances the development of their businesses as revealed by the regression result (Beta = 1.074; P 0.000 < 0.05). The study concludes that there exists a positive relationship between micro finance bank and small medium enterprises. The study recommends that customers and beneficiaries of micro finance loans should avoid default in the repayment of loans. Furthermore, Microfinance banks should avoid charging high interest and much collaterals when granting loans.
Conflict management is key to the performance of any organization, conflict is inevitable because... more Conflict management is key to the performance of any organization, conflict is inevitable because it occurs between individuals in the organization, this study takes a look at the effect of conflict management on organizational performance, two selected microfinance bank in Kogi state, namely Asea and Endwell were used as the population of the study, a total number of 250 staff was ascertained from the attendance registers of the branches visited. Taro Yamane (1973) sampling technique was used to arrive at a sample size of one hundred and fifty-four (154). One hundred and fifty-four copies of the questionnaire (154) were given to staffs of the selected organizations while one hundred and fifty copies of questionnaire were completed and returned. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses. The study revealed that there is an insignificant positive effect of accommodating conflict management style on organizational performance. Furthermore, the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between avoiding conflict management style and organizational performance in the selected microfinance banks. Finally, it was also revealed that there is a significant relationship between organizational performances and collaborating conflict management style in the microfinance banks. Findings revealed that financial forecasting has a significant effect on the growth of SMEs based on the regression result (Beta =.875; P=0.000 < 0.05). The study concluded that SMEs had been affected positively by financial management strategy using the various components of financial management. The study recommended that SMEs should focus on investment that generates positive net present value. It was also recommended that Small and medium enterprises should strengthen their growth by enhancing optimum cash management through effective record keeping. Finally, SMEs should increase their financial performance through effective cash flow statement.
