Performance improvement of jute industries by applying TOC has been carried out in this research work. The main objective of this research is to improve the productivity and Return on investment (ROI) of jute industries in Bangladesh by proper synchronization of Drum-Buffer-Rope scheduling associated with thinking process and throughput accounting. The bottleneck is identified as the main constraint of the production line. At the same time proper standardization of components and reduction of time has been set up to eliminate bottleneck & maximize the throughput by using the constraints and non-constraints resources. The solution of this constraint identified has shown in two different point of view that is operational measures & financial measures. The implementation of TOC results in managing inventory, work in process and delay on delivery time. Thus it ensures 0.3% increase in the Return on Investment (ROI) and the quality products due to better control over operation of constraint resources.

This study is conducted to analyze the performance of Mild Steel (ASTM A36) using a drill bit (8.25mm &10.25mm high-speed steel) at two different speeds (270 & 630 RPM) under the three conditions (Dry, MQL, and Wet). The Taguchi has been introduced to find out the most influential factors and most of the cases it was drilling conditions. This performance study has been accelerated by using minitab18 software for ANOVA analysis. Thus it gives the clear indication about the effects of RPM, drilling conditions and drill bit size on drilling a particular materials MS (ASTM A36). The conditions and factors have been shown whether it is statistically significant and how much. One conspicuous thing that the interaction between conditions and factors also have the significant effect. The wet cooling condition has shown the better
performance on surface roughness for all conditions and drill
bit size. The drilling under wet cooling and MQL conditions
have almost the same results but it varies in the case of the
dry condition. Low RPM is found to be statistically significant
than it is for high RPM. The regression line equation can bring
the remarkable significance of further drilling Mild Steel at any
drilling conditions.

The main objectives of this research are optimization of design parameters and to find out the best design from a set of design parameters for achieving highest impact strength for the composite fabricated by rice straw. Taguchi method has been applied for determining the most desirable design for the composites. In this study L9 orthogonal array and signal-to-noise (S/N) Ratio is employed to optimize control factors affecting the impact strength of the composite. To calculate the signal to noise ratio “larger is better” approach has been followed as this research seeking the highest impact strength. It has been found that this fiber weight (%) is the most effective parameter other than resin (%) and number of layers. The highest impact strength are found 185.90 KJ/m2 for the combinations of 40 fiber weight (%), 80 resin (%), 3 number of layers. The interaction among the design parameters has also the significant effects on achieving highest impact strength.

Aluminium matrix composites (AMCs) used extensively in various engineering fields due to their exceptional mechanical properties. In this present study, aluminium matrix composites (AMCs) such as aluminium alloy (A356) reinforced with rice husk ash particles (RHA) are made to explore the possibilities of reinforcing aluminium alloy. The stir casting method was applied to produce aluminium alloy (A356) reinforced with various amounts of (2%, 4%, and 6%) rice husk ash (RHA) particles. Physical treatment was carried out before the rice husk ash manufacturing process. The effect of mechanical strength of the fabricated hybrid composite was investigated. Therefore, impact test, tensile stress, compressive stress, and some other tests were carried out to analyse the mechanical properties. From the experimental results, it was found that maximum tensile, and compressive stress were found at 6% rice husk ash (RHA) and aluminium matrix composites (AMCs). In future, the optimum percentages of rice husk ash (RHA) to fabricate the hybrid composites will be determined. Also, simulation by finite element method (FEM) will be applied for further investigation.

In casting industry, quality of sand mold is one of the most important influential factors for achieving high quality cast products. In this study, an experimental and analytical investigation has been made to evaluate the influence of additives on green sand mold properties. Taguchi's experimental design approach is adopted to achieve more robust results through reducing the number of experiments for changing parameters, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) technique is used to identify the significant factors and their percentage contribution for improved mechanical properties. The green sand properties considered are, moisture content, green compression strength (GCS), and permeability and the additives considered are water, bentonite and coal dust. Specimens with different percentages of additives were prepared based on standard procedures and subjected to basic molding sand testing including moisture content, permeability and green compression strength using standard methods and equipment. Experimental and analytical analysis results showed that water is the most influential factor for changing moisture content and bentonite is another most influential factor for affecting green compression strength and permeability. Coal dust has minor effect of changing sand mold properties rapidly. Normality, independence and constant variance assumptions are tested for concluding the decision that ANOVA analysis is realistic for this analysis.

At present, natural fiber reinforced polymer matrix composites have received wide attention of the researchers from all over the world because of their outstanding advantages of environment friendliness, biodegradability, recyclability, cost-effectiveness and comparable physico-mechanical properties. Among various natural fibers easily available to human beings, Water Hyacinth (Eichhornea crassipes) is one of the cheapest fibers which have not been systematically explored so far. Water Hyacinth can be used as filler in composites materials in various polymer matrices. In this study, an attempt has been made to fabricate Water Hyacinth fiber based polymer composite and evaluation its impact behavior. For this composite preparation, Water Hyacinth fibers were used as reinforcement and the epoxy resin (ADR 246 TX) was used as the matrix. The fabrication of the composite is done by using hand layup techniques. The composite thus made was tested for its mechanical properties like hardness test and charpy impact test. The results showed that Water Hyacinth fibers presented a competitive reinforcement quality when they were compared with other natural fibers, as such jute, abaca, and rice straw.

In the aluminum casting industry, the foundry manufacturers find the quality of the sand mold as important fact to achieve high quality aluminum castings. The aim of this research is to reduce aluminum casting defects by optimizing proportion of water and bentonite added to a recycled sand mold. Aluminum 356 alloy was preferred for this research based on the traditional method of trial and error twelve castings were performed with the different proportion of sand, bentonite, and water. A five scale rating method has been applied to rate the casted product upon number of defects. This research has been carried out by analyzing the variance (ANOVA) by using Minitab 17.0 software and finally concludes with the optimum level of composition for casting Al with the result of 90% sand, 5% bentonite, and 5% water.

This paper is concentrated on the analysis of Porter's Five Forces model in regard to battery manufacturers of Bangladesh. The five forces are impact of supplier, power of customer, competition between existing manufacturers, threats of substitutes and entrance of new manufacturer. This paper has analyzed the five forces to find out how a battery industry can be put in an advantageous position in a highly competitive market. The strongest of the five forces has been shown as the power of customer and competitive rivalry. The elements controlling customers are customer volume, price sensitivity, option of substitute and product differentiation. Threat of substitutes include advent of new or improved technology, and improved performance. The weakest of the forces has been found as substitute product and bargaining power of supplier. It can be suggested that the companies should pay more attention in providing quality rather than thinking cost.
