Literature can inspire, excite and intrigue, and engagement and inspiration are desirable in education of all kinds...Using literature in ELT can be useful to expand language learners' vocabulary, awareness of register, genre and linguistic knowledge generally…The ways in which language is used in literary texts are actually centrally relevant to the needs of students in a wide range of situations in everyday life. (Hall, 2016: 456). To create in the young an appreciation of the fact that many worlds are possible, that meaning and reality are created and not discovered, that negotiation is the art of constructing new meanings by which individuals can regulate their relations with each other" (Bruner, 1986: 149). Bruner's words are a compelling reminder of the value of reading literature in the 21st century foreign language classroom. Literature (as discourse, ideology and art) can be a powerful and key tool for teaching fundamental language and intercultural competences. A renewed interest in literature is gradually emerging in foreign language education curricula and the growing number of studies dedicated to the subject since 2000

This paper focuses on how literature can have an important role in the development of specific employability skills in the language class, as it relates not only to purely linguistic abilities, but also helps foster other soft skills such as intercultural awareness, problem-solving abilities and critical thinking. The role of the Litinclass research group is also considered, and in particular the Litinclass website (https:// litinclass.wordpress.com/), in bringing together expertise in this area. This website, aimed at Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teachers and researchers, both at school and university levels, aims to pool resources and methodologies in the area, and to bring innovation to the study of literature in the foreign language classroom.
Keywords: literature in the MFL classroom, content and language integrated learning, CLIL, new technologies in language learning, employability skills, intercultural awareness.

We argue that the distinguishing feature of this work is found in an autopoiesis characterised by an original mixture of feminist, surrealist, libertarian, existentialist and autobiographic perspectives, dealing with the leitmotifs of the body, the whore, the cow and the scream. We reject criticism aimed at the supposed simplicity and repetitiveness of her poetic discourse, which is at present experiencing a period of important in-depth analysis, especially since the appearance of "O útero dos cabalos" (2005). Despite her strong idiosyncrasy, we believe that Gómez Arto's work is developing a definitively universal and innovative message with respect to Galician national and patriarcal spaces as well as its literary-aesthetic canon.
