Objective: Tamarind seed gum (TSG) is a polysaccharide having galactomannans as chemical constituents, and it is extracted from the seeds of Tamarindus indica L (Family Fabaceae). Generally, polysaccharides play most important roles as thickening, gelling, emulsifying, hydrating, and suspending agents in pharmaceutical formulations. The purpose of this work was to investigate the film coating potential of tamarind seed gum (TSG), using paracetamol as a model drug. Material and Method: Tamarind seed gum, Paracetamol tablet, Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose Sodium alginate, and Distilled water. Core tablets of paracetamol were obtained from a pharmacy shop in the local market and the physicochemical properties such as weight, hardness, friability, and disintegration time were evaluated. Aqueous coating solution consists of 2% TSG hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) (2% w/v), and sodium alginate (1% w/v) were prepared and used to coat the tablets by dip coating technique. The coated tablet...

Objective: Neuropathic pain condition is generally definite as a chronic pain state resulting from peripheral or central nerve injury also due to acute events (e.g., amputation, spinal cord injury) or systemic disease (e.g., diabetes, viral infection and cancer) and categorized by pathological symptoms, such as hyperalgesia and allodynia to mechanical and thermal (heat or cold) stimuli, as well as spontaneous pain. : Bibliographic information were collected and Method analysed from text books and peer reviewed journals, consulting worldwide accepted scientific databases from the libraries and internet sources. Peripheral processes in neuropathic pain engage production of intermediaries (cytokines, protons, nervegrowth factor), alterations of calcium channels, sodium channels, hyperpolarisation-activated nucleotide-gated ion channels, potassium channels, phenotypic switches and sprouting of nerves endings, and involvement of the sympathetic nervous system. : Neuropathic pain has been...

Objective: Urolithiasis is a common problem of various centuries with high recurrence. The present review is an attempt to share traditionally used antiurolithiatic plants with their mechanism of action. Chemical principles from herbal sources have become much simpler and have contributed significantly to the development of new drugs from medicinal plants. Urolithiasis is a common disorder expected to occur in approximately 12% of the population, with a recurrence rate of 70-81% in males, and 47-60% in females. It causes serious health problems such as severe pain, urinary tract obstruction and infection that adversely affect well-being of individuals. Treatment option includes like surgical, ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrostolithotomy (PCNL), and open or laparoscopic stone removal which are costly and painful. Many synthetic drugs used like diuretics and narcotic analgesics are being used in treatment of kidney stone but overuse of synthetic drugs, which produce higher incidence ...

Nanotechnology is an emerging as well as a vast field which is giving us day by day new revolutions with the help of which we are being benefitted. Nanomization is being undertaken for considerations in maximally every field as it is offering best way to optimize or perform any work with accuracy. Along with its perfection it also offers fewer disadvantages or any harmful effects. Likewise it is nowadays also being used in the medical field. Nanotechnology is offering the best and optimized way to process any of the medical consequences (as diagnosis, treatment) as compared to the previous ones (Brandes et al., 2005). In the sky of nanotechnology, one star is QD which is being used in various processes because of its light emitting property. These are the developed form of nanoparticles having an efficated profile today. QDs literally are a part of substance (e.g., semiconductor) whose excitons are confined in all three spatial dimensions. They were invented at the start of 1980s by...

Introduction Urolithiasis or kidney stone formation is a complex process that occurs due to imbalance between promoters and inhibitors in the kidneys. It is a progression of several physicochemical events including supersaturation, nucleation, aggregation and retention within the kidneys. Calcium-containing stones, especially calcium oxalate mono and dihydrate and basic calcium phosphate are the most commonly occurring stones. Some other types of stone include uric acid stone, cystine stone, silicate stone, protease related stone and DHA stone etc. Minerals in the urine especially calcium, build on the fleck similar to that a pearl grows in an oyster shell. The formation of the nidus may be analagous to the first stage in the physiologic calcification of bone in which a nucleus of calcium phosphate develops in an organic matrix (Howard et al., 1967; Thomas and Howard, 1959; Boyce and King, 1963; Boyce, 1968). It is reported already that calcium phosphate is soluble in urine which is...

Aim: To prepare review on application of fenugreek seed gum: in novel drug delivery Method: Various research paper were collected and compilation of study reported in these paper were presented in this review. Results: Fenugreek gum, have polysaccharide galactomannans chemical constituents. Polysaccharides play most important roles in pharmaceutical formulation fields as thickening, gelling, emulsifying, and suspending agents. The isolation of fenugreek gum are done with water/dilute alkali; so that the product yield comes different 13.6 to 38%, production of gum depends on the fenugreek seed variety and extraction methods. Fenugreek gum is widely grown; therefore its sustainable supply is well sure and cost economic crop. Conclusion: We express all the significant aspects of Fenugreek seed gum, contributing for its role in biopharmaceutical applications.

The aim of this study was to formulate and characterization of dispersible tablet (Aceclofenac). Aceclofenac is a phenylacetic acid belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It causes by inhibition of COX-2 and prostaglandin E2(PGE2) synthesis in blood mononuclear and polymorphonuclear cells. It used as anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory (both acute and chronic),analgesic (effective pain killer in lower backache, dental or gynecological pain) and antipyretic. In present study, disintegrants(crospovidone and sodium starch glycolate) with are used. Evaluation of different batches of tablets by thickness, weigh variation, hardness, friability, drug content uniformity, wetting time, water absorption ratio, in-vitro disintegration time and in-vitro drug release. Quantitative analyzes of aceclofenac by UV-Spectrophotometry, High Performance Liqud Chromatography (HPLC) and Mass Spectroscopy. Three formulation patterns were used for in-vitro drug release study.

Herbal drugs, referred to as Botanical Medicine, are uses from plants for their important or medicinal value. An herb is a plant or plant part valued for its medicinal, aromatic or savory qualities. Herbals contain a variety of chemical substances that act upon the body (Chatterjee and Pakrashi, 1997). Anthelmintics are drug that used to destroy parasite worms (known as helminthes) from the human body. It has been expected that about half of the world's population suffers from helminthiasis and the quantity can be increases. It is not only poor to tropical and subtropical countries, but is also endemic in several regions because of poor hygiene, poor family hugiene malnutrition and crowed living condition (Kiritikar and Basu, 1999). Calliandra haematocephala, (family: Mimosaceae) due to its distinct appearance as that of powder puff, it is commonly known as red powder puff. It is a rambling shrub with height of 1.5-4 meters has branched pinnates and silky leaves. The red powder ...

Traditional medicine is a main part of the cultural heritage of a society and it has developed in accordance with the lifestyle and ancient practices of the society. During practical experiences of herbal remedies the therapeutic results of the various traditional medicinal systems around the world. Indian, Chinese, and Arabian traditional medicinal systems are highly developed (Akerlee et al., 1996). Traditional Indian medicinal systems have reached to various other countries such as Malaysia and America. According to a WHO report, around 80% of the world's population primarily relies on traditional medicines. Ziziphus oenoplia an important shrub, often found throughout the hotter parts of India, Ceylon, Tropical Asia and Australia (Pullaiah et al., 2002). Ayurveda (the knowledge for long life), originated in India in the mid-second millennium BCE, known as the Vedic period. Susruta Samhita and Charaka Samhita is the core of the Ayurvedic medicinal systems which have describe t...
