This book is a preliminary skeleton list of 766 Greek manuscripts with the text or text fragments of the Ladder. In this list there are Sammelbands, too, because the general picture of Byzantine hand-written tradition of the Ladder would be incomplete without mentioning the ascetic Sammelbands into which the authors included fragments of the text of the Ladder. Not less than 134 manuscripts are with comments (with interpretations of the text of the Ladder) - cum scholiis. Greek manuscripts of the Ladder are available in not less than 109 libraries in approximately 21 countries. A big part is kept in the collections of Greece. This list may be a step to a systematic descriptive catalog of the Greek manuscripts of the Ladder of St. John Climacus.

The subject of linguotextological analysis is the variants of transmission of biblical quotations in five ancient Russian manuscripts with the Text of the "Ladder" of John Climacus. The material for analysis is the published text of the work (Patrologia Graeca, vol. LXXXVIII) and three unpublished ancient Greek manuscripts of the Ladder. In total, 21 words were found in the work, included in the lexical-semantic group "Food", and 6 words included in the lexical-semantic group "Drink". In many cases, lexemes are used in pairs (salt and oil, milk and honey, bread and water, bread and mustard). This use is obviously due to the biblical tradition, on the basis of which the author of the Ladder built his book. For the general designation of food, nouns such as βρῶμα, τροφή, τρυφή, βρῶσις, ἔδεσμα, ἑστίασις, ὄψον, τράπεζα, ἐδώδιμον are used. In a collective sense, the lexemes καρπός and ὀπώρα are used to designate fruits. For the names of vegetables (herbs) in the Ladder, lexemes such as πικρίς and λάχανον are used. Of the specific types of food in the Ladder, there are names of baked goods (ἄρτος 'bread' and ἄζυμον 'unleavened bread'), grapes (βότρυς and ῥάγας), spices (ἔλαιον 'olive oil' and ἅλας 'salt'), honey (μέλι) and cheese (τυρός). To designate drink, in general, in the Ladder there are the lexemes πόμα, νάμα and ποτόν. Specific drinks are called ὕδωρ 'water' , οἶνος 'wine' and γάλα 'milk'. In the lexical-semantic groups "Food" and "Drink" hyperonyms clearly prevail over hyponyms. The small amount of specific vocabulary is explained by the fact that for a monk, as he moves up the ladder of virtues, it is less and less important what food he consumes. Monks who have reached the highest degrees of spiritual life (ἰσάγγελοι, equal to the angels) no longer feel the taste of food and forget to take it; for them the most important thing is spiritual food. In the lexico-semantic groups "Food" and "Drink" in the Ladder, as in the texts of the Holy Scriptures, direct (physical) and figurative (spiritual) meanings are masterfully connected. Almost all examples of the use of these words can be viewed both in the direct and in the symbolic sense. In the highest metaphorical meaning, all lexemes included in the thematic field "Nutrition" represent a symbol of participation in God's salvation in Christ.

The article published 10 fragments of the text of the Ladder as part of Simeon's Miscellany according to the text of Izbornik of Svjatoslav 1073. The publication of the texts is based on the edition of the text of the Izbornik prepared by P. Janeva (Sofia, 2015) and is accompanied by indications of discrepancies in the most ancient Byzantine manuscripts of the Ladder and comments. The article contains clarifications and additions to the Sofia edition of the Izbornik. As a result of the study some fragments are reconstructed, I consider to be part of the lost Byzantine book, which became the source of the Bulgarian translation of the Simeon's Miscellany. The article contains biblical quotations in the fragments of the Ladder as part of the Izbornik. The article lists the words of the Preslav literary school, typical for the translation of the Simeon's Miscellany and for the first Slavic translation of the Ladder.

В памятнике византийской учительной литературы, Лествице Иоанна Синайского, имеются сведения о лавре Саввы Освященного, а также о семи египетских монастырях, при этом названия трех из них отсутствуют. Замалчивание названия монастыря, находившегося близ Александрии, может быть связано с тем, что он являлся центром монофелитской ереси и тем самым заслужил «проклятие памяти». В статье речь идет о типах монашеского подвига и называются отшельнические скиты вблизи монастыря святой Екатерины. The translation was carried out with the version of the Greek text, which is represented in the "Patrologia graeca" of Migne. The translation belongs to Preslav Literary School and was performed not later than in the second quarter of the 10th century. The author of the translation may be John Exarch of Bulgaria. The translation is close to the Greek text and accurately reproduces the grammatical structure of the original. Nevertheless the translator seeks to make the text more understandable for the Slavonic readers, as well as more beautiful and expressive. The text of the translation has a rich vocabulary. One Greek lexeme corresponds to many Slavonic lexemes. The translator reluctantly uses borrowed words and most of the borrowings are lexemes that did not have an equivalent in the Slavonic language. His main translation technique is the calquing of complex and derived lexemes. The text of the translation is saturated with etymological figures and homeoteleutons. The translator shows the highest level of education and poetic talent. The first Slavonic translation of the Ladder was performed by a great master. However, the text of the translation in the surviving Slavonic manuscripts is sometimes incomprehensible because of the many mistakes made by the scribes of the manuscripts. The most frequent mistakes are the omissions of parts of the text. The linguistic analysis of the Slavonic manuscripts in comparison with the Greek original revealed the mistakes of the translator. These mistakes are explained by the mistakes of the scribe of the Greek manuscript, which formed the basis of the Slavonic translation.

Both texts belong to the Preslav Literary school. The Azbučna Molitva is the original monument of ancient Bulgarian literature. It was written by one of the most important men of letters working at the Preslav Literary school, Constantine of Preslav, around 893. The Ladder was translated from Greek to Slavonic for the first time not later than the middle of the 10th century. K. Kuev studied 38 texts of the Azbučna Molitva and reconstructed its most ancient text. There are 117 words in the text of the Azbučna Molitva, of which 105 words are found in the Ladder. The lexical compositions of the Azbučna Molitva and the Ladder are very close. The basis of both monuments is the stock of words of the Old Slavonic language. In both texts there are words that characterize the Preslav Literary school (gore, zhizn’, nachati, pechal’, plemja, uspekh). The article treats the text of the Azbučna Molitva according to the manuscript of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery (Russian National Library), No. 22/1099 ("Efrosin's Sammelband"). In the appendix to the article a photocopy of the text of the Molitva is given. This text was not in K. Kuev's field of view. This text is a new Russian version of the Azbučna Molitva. In the new version there are no words typical for the Preslav Literary school, and the text of the Azbučna Molitva in a number of fragments differs sharply from it’s text in other manuscripts. However, the sacral meaning of the Azbučna Molitva is not lost.
