NTCIR is a series of evaluation workshops designed to enhance the research on Information Access Technologies like Information Retrieval (IR), Question Answering (QA), Summarization, Text Mining, Text Entailment Recognition, etc. and has provided research infrastructure for evaluation and testing, and forum of researchers. It has placed emphasis on processing of East Asian languages, but attracted international participation.


NTCIR-11 has hosted the following tasks.
- IMine : mining and satisfying different user intents for a query
- MATH : mathematical content access based on both natural language text and mathematical expression
- MedNLP : Medical Natural Language Processing
- MobileClick : satisfying a user’s need by the first output
- RITE -VAL: Recognizing Inference in Text
- SpokenQuery&Doc : Retrieval for Spoken Documents
- QALab: Question Answering
- Temporalia: Document access related temporal information
- RecipeSearch: Recipe document search


NTCIR-11 Conference and EVIA 2014 welcomes anyone who is interested in the research in information access technologies. For the previous conference, more than 240 attendees from 20 different countries participated. Among them about half were researchers participated in the "task(s)" set by NTCIR, and others contributed to fruitful discussion.

Sponsorship Opportunities

For NTCIR-11 Conference, a total of 150 groups are participating in the 'task(s)' from overseas and Japan. Two-thirds of the participating groups are from overseas. Key members of each group are graduate students and young researchers. For those members who are conducting the experiments as the main force, NTCIR-11 offers sponsorship opportunities that help students around the world attend our Conference. A Gold sponsorship enables three to five students to travel to the conference.

Sponsorship Benefits

  • All NTCIR-11 sponsors will be listed in the conference program and on the conference website, with a link to the sponsor's company homepage if desired.
  • Sponsors will receive complimentary conference registration(s) : Platinum – five registrations, Gold – three registrations, Silver – two registration, Bronze – one registration. (Each complimentary conference registration includes three lunches and a banquet)
  • Platinum and Gold Sponsors can have an exhibit booth. Silver, Bronze Sponsor can put up a poster throughout the conference December 10 – December 12.
  • Platinum, Gold Sponsor can hold a sponsor luncheon session and a sponsor coffee break. (Extra charge, first three companies/organization for each)
