Surface sampling for trace explosives residues is a critical step in the security screening in which microparticles are collected for subsequent chemical analysis. The current surface swabbing approach suffers from limited sampling area coverage, uncertainty in harvesting efficiencies, and user bias. Non-contact sampling has received interest due to its ability to interrogate large surface areas without the redeposition of the collected sample. However, the aerodynamic liberation of energetic particles from different types of substrates has not been parameterized or directly compared with the contact sampling methods. Here, we report aerodynamic resuspension rates of TNT, RDX, and HMX microparticles from smooth, rough, and fibrous surfaces. The resuspension thresholds are correlated to the boundary layer properties, i.e., wall shear stresses (τw = 50-500Pa). The environmental, financial and social questions, as well as the rapid increase in demand for energy fuels, emphasize the need to investigate and generate information on the performance of charcoal compared to briquettes as an alternative source of renewable in Kampala district. The study objective was to compare the performance of biomass briquettes as an alternative energy source to wood charcoal. The performance was measured using a modified water boiling test and a controlled cooking test. Data collected were analyzed using chi-square tests and cross tabulations on households' socioeconomic factors that promoted the popularity and use of briquettes or wood charcoal. Results from the modified water boiling test showed that the weight of wood charcoal, carbonized and non-carbonized briquettes consumed in boiling two litres of water is significantly different. From the controlled cooking test, the weight of charcoal used to cook dry beans is significantly higher than that of briquettes used to cook the same amount of beans. It was recommended that wood charcoal and briquettes perform similarly when used over short periods of time, but briquettes perform better over much longer periods.

This paper describes one of the ways for the design and analysis of the die of the technology of pressure die casting process. This paper is to maintain the closest tolerances, reduced all machining and can make the process the optimum choice for small volume production as well. Such exact and light parts are one of the premises for the automobile industry, parts with a lightweight design and exact products directly influence the fuel consumption of an automobile and consequently the users are satisfied. These requirements are met using aluminium alloys, high strength steels and fibre reinforced for the structural components. In this work a die was designed based on factors to be considered in the critical dimensions and filling analysis is used to determine the size, location and to ensure a complete and balanced filling of the part while designing for proper runner system. This work uses different software such as Solid Works, 3-Diamesional Flow, Pro-Engineer respectively. The design, analysis, and testing work are carried at Automotive Private Limited, Gurgaon, Haryana. Review the development step of a new product and need to start production preparation process (3P) based on Just-in-Time (JIT) within a small amount of time and in a timely fashion. Production Preparation Process 3P is an advanced lean approach required simulation, visual thinking, and kaizen for quick design for manufacturability. This work focuses on to minimize wastage of product, process design and used to eliminate waste in existing processes. However, this method is using within companies such as metals, petrochemical , automobile industry and similar industries due to the demand for new products have increased. The reason for this research was to show the lean concepts, which can be efficient, effectively planned and managed.

In current years, water quality degradation related with rapid socioeconomic development in the River Yamuna, India has attracted increasing attention from both public and Indian government. The principal sources of pollution in River Yamuna are effluent discharge from the industries and domestic sewage. The effective water environmental management strategies required to be implement in this river to upgrade the water quality and to ensure sustainable development in the region. The aim of this work was to provide a basis for water environmental management in process of making important decisions. In this study Qual2k is used as model to identify the processes that underlie river and stream water quality problems in a basin. This will be applied to predict the water quality parameters such as Temperature, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and pH and the most sensitive parameter of the model that influence Yamuna River. The scope of the research is from Delhi Stretch of Wazirabad to Oklah route of the river.

This paper discussed the general, problem of ground vibrations generated by road construction, operation methods generated due to road traffic and rail on the soil surface caused by different operations. Vibrations are one of many environmental factors that act on a building and potentially reduce their lifetime. Traffic induced vibrations, which are transferred through the ground, may interfere with the proper operation of vibration sensitive equipments. Vibrations are most frequently blamed for deterioration of historical buildings, there number of common vibration sources like road and rail traffic, earthquake.

Lean manufacturing is a known principle used in today's industries to eliminate various hidden wastes that do not add value to the finish product. Lean concept has many advantages which have helped many companies over the years to stay more competitive in global and national business. The purpose of this study is to develop a value stream map for ASK Automotive Private Limited, Manesar in Gurgaon, how information is distributed across the entire company from raw material finished goods suppliers to the customers. This particular tool allows the company to document current lead time, inventory levels and cycle times to determine the ratio of value added to total lead time of the product line being analyzed. Interviews have been conducted with various distribution centre managers, raw material suppliers, and also technicians to familiarize with how things are done currently and the way forward to achieve the aim of operating on lean. Operators and other staffs will be trained to understand how lean works and also the need for continuous improvement and not just a onetime improvement. Recommendations have been made to enable the company to reach the ultimate aim of operating on lean principle which has been known to be helpful.

Little scientific information about dental restorative materials has been available until recently. Prior to this knowledge, the use of these materials was entirely an art, and the only tasting laboratory was the mouth of the patient. Today, despite the availability of the sophisticated technical equipment and development of standardized testing methods for evaluating the mechanical and thermal properties of restorative materials, this testing sometimes still occur on the mouth of our patients. The present work has considered and compared the essential mechanical and thermal properties of some of the most widely used restorative materials. The behaviour of these materials when used to filled class I cavity on mandibular first molar tooth, under the combinations of different thermal and structural loads were analysed using ANSYS (Work bench 15.0). Amalgam, Composite, and Gold alloys materials were considered for this work, the results obtained from ANSYS analysis showed that, the maximum deformation occurred at the occlusal surface, specifically on the filling material and increases towards the other four surfaces (mesial, buccal, lingual and distal surfaces) and the roots, while the equivalent (Von-Mises) stress was depicted along the cervical line (a border line between crown and roots) and distributed towards both the crown and the roots. 35 trials were made and the values for the maximum deformation and von-Mises stress were both plotted against the temperature and structural load using Qtiplot software, and the final result showed that; Gold alloy and composite materials has the least and highest values of both deformation and von-Mises stresses respectively.
