Macroinvertebrates are a significant class of creatures that are located in the sediment that lies below the water column and are essential to the health of any aquatic environment. Their research is crucial because, as a result of their sedentary habitat, macrobenthic organisms are well-known markers of anthropogenic stress. In the present investigation mud nests of Wire-tail swallow (Hirundo filifera) from Godavari River basin, Maharashtra were studied, in which 19 different locations were identified as nesting sites of Wire-tail swallow (Hirundo filifera) from Godavari River and its tributaries in three districts of Marathwada region. In the present study nesting material, nesting pattern, cluster number, parental care, role of both parents, threats to the nesting sites and mortality of birds were observed. Total of 3397 nests of Wire-tail swallow (Hirundo filifera) from 19 locations were present in clusters. For the construction of mud nest, mud was used as the main constituent collected from the river mud flats and the remaining material was bird feathers and short dried grass, stem and root as structural support collected from nearby locations. The main threats to the nest were pollution and human activities, including habitat destruction, avian predators and Lack of food and water. In wire-tailed swallows (Hirundo filifera) mud-nest the nest parasitism by Passer domesticus was reported as a first report from Godavari River basin in India.

In present investigation nesting and breeding of common coot (Fulica atra) from Ujani-Bhigwan reservoir, Maharashtra, India. Total 56 nests were observed in study area, in which 31 eggs and 68 chicks were observed. Parameters such as depth of water, nest distance from river bank, shape of nest and nest material were assessed in this research. Nest construction, Parental care, and feeding to youngones are contributed by both of parents. The Typha angustifolia and Ipomoea carnea was main base for the nest construction of common coot (Fulica atra). Predator, over fishing, pollution, illegal sand mining, tourist activities and anthropogenic activity are threats identified to the nest of common coot (Fulica atra). It is an important primary database for this nesting site of Common coot with major details fist-time.

The soft drinks sector is one among the fastest-growing, most innovative, and fast changing areas of the food and drink industry. The aim of present work was isolation and identification of micro-organisms and chemicals which may lead to various health problems from soft drink and fruit juice. Samples was collected from different location of Nanded which contains 4 carbonated soft drinks of different brands. And, Apple Juice, Orange Juice and fruit beer from local market. We collected different samples of soft drinks and fruit juices with a specific dilution for testing. After testing us observed different types of micro-organisms such as-Staphylococcus aureus, cocci shaped bacteria, Bacillus etc. The most prevailing bacterial isolates were glucanobacter sp., Lactobacillus sp. And next prevalent bacterium was leuconostoc sp. Some fungi were also observed in the sample such as Penicillium Expansum, Penicillium roquefori, Penicillium Glabrum.

The present study investigates the use of poultry and slaughterhouse waste product i.e. chicken feathers which are responsible for different environmental problems. Chicken feather is a good source of keratin which can be used in Cosmetics products as a source of protein. Collected samples soaked in petroleum ether for 24 hours to remove bloodstains and dust, dissolved chicken feather in sodium sulfide, protein precipitated by Ammonium Sulfate, and Protein purification done by dialysis bag. Qualitative analysis was done with the Biuret method and quantitative estimation of protein Folin (1951). The analysis lyophilized sample of FTIR confirm the characteristic peak was seen at 3417 cm-1 which indicates the presence of amide a group and suggesting the presence of Cysteine, Glutamic acid, Tryptophan, and Amide III respectively Thus it can be concluded from the FTIR analysis that the keratin protein of chicken feather is showing characteristics of secondary structure of proteins.

Hydrophis schistosus (Daudin, 1803) commonly known as beaked sea snake occurs in shallow marine and estuarine habitats of India. The population of H. schistosus has been frequently noted in the shore-seine net as By-catch. Only a few studies are available about By-catch of sea snakes in Indian coasts. Being a top predator, their mortality and ecological consequences are largely unknown. The present study was conducted along the Caranzalem-Miramar coast of Caranzalem bay, Goa during monsoon (August-September, 2017 and 2018) to focus on the by-catch mortality of H. schistosus and their feeding preferences. Observations indicated that the fishing activities, particularly during every shore-seine operation, results in a significant by-catch of sea snakes where approximately 20–60 individuals get entangled in the fishing net. Birds are well known for construction of various kinds of nests. It is an instinct behaviour. For protection against rain, environmental temperature difference, to care the brood, a part of breeding process birds construct nests. Nest structure, designs and materials used in nest construction are species specific. The specificity also found in nesting site selection, avoidance of predation risk and easy way to rescue from the nest. Present study on ten species of local birds and their nest structure, nest material used reveals that 54.40 % locally available material was used by these species that includes plant materials mainly. The synthetic materials, soil, silt, mud and the materials of animal origin like human hair, spider net threads, and dropped feathers of birds were used in nest construction.
