Guard City
From Transformers Wiki
- Guard City is an Autobot combiner from the Operation Combination portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Guard City (ガードシティ Gādo Shiti) is a high-ranking Autobot warrior, who commands the Micromaster Six-Teams in their defense of Earth. His nemesis is the Decepticon combiner Battle Gaia.
Guard City is composed of the following individual Autobots:
As a Free-Combiner, the individual robots making up Guard City's limbs enjoy a certain level of autonomy, allowing them to consciously rearrange themselves to suit specific situations. With Streetstar and Sparkride forming his legs, Guard City can reach incredible speeds with his Mach Formation. With Sparkride and Fly-Up forming his arms, Guard City can use their various abilities (such as Fly-Up's rotor blades) to aid him in battle with the Attack Formation. With Safety and Streetstar forming his arms, he can use the lightbars of both vehicles to make himself highly visible and demand attention during emergency situations, creating the Signal Formation. And with Safety forming his left arm, Guard City can call upon the medic's skills to repair wounded soldiers via the Repair Formation.

Guard City had previously encountered his rival, the Decepticon Battle Gaia during a battle in a human-sized city. Although Sixwing and Sixtrain fought beside him, they were taken out almost instantly. Only Guard City's Mach Formation gave him an edge over Battle Gaia's Fire Formation. Big Pinch, Autobots!
Later, under orders from Decepticon leader, Scrash, Battle Gaia and the Jet Corps began a campaign to plunder Earth of all its energy. Guard City called upon all the Micromaster Combiners scattered across the globe to aid him in battle in Earth's orbit. The Decepticons' Attack on Earth!
Combining with Sixbuilder, Sixturbo, Sixwing, and Sixtrain, Guard City formed the Autobot Scrum Combination. Unleashing the energy of all twenty-nine Autobots, their attack destroyed Battle Gaia on the spot. The Jet Corps immediately gathered up Battle Gaia's remains and fled back into deep space. The day saved, Guard City and the Micromaster Combiners waved good bye and flew off. Conclusion

- Released in the eighth and final year of the original Takara Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers line under the Operation Combination banner, Guard City is a redeco of the original Defensor, a combination of five emergency-response vehicles. He is largely similar to Defensor, with only a handful of plastic colors changed (sometimes only subtly so), plus some —but not all— of the decals are changed. Since he uses the Scramble City-style of combination, he can be assembled with any of the limb-bots in any socket.
- Guard City was only available as a complete box set of five robots (Fire Chief, Fly-Up, Safety, Sparkride, and Streetstar). As one of the last releases of the Japanese Transformers line, at a time when pretty much everyone had stopped buying Transformers, a loose set of the team can demand prices over a thousand U.S. dollars, even with three constituents being nigh-identical to the Protectobots.
