Fiction

IDW movie comics

Elita-One, Chromia and Arcee were hatched in Metrotitan sometime between 17,000 and 10,000 BC, making Metrotitan the first city to bring forth female Transformers. Elita-One's Movie toy bio Elita-One left her sisters and the city when she came in contact with Sentinel Prime's group and joined their quest to find the AllSpark and revitalize Cybertron. Once she and her comrades had accomplished this, Elita-One returned to her sisters in Metrotitan. Optimus had wanted to go with her, but his presence was needed in Trypticon. Foundation #1 Upon Sentinel Prime's invitation for Cybertron's population to attend the declaration of unification at Trypticon three solar cycles later, Elita-One left Metrotitan once more, this time with her sisters in tow, to witness the historical event and meet up with Optimus. Foundation #2

Cybertron's era of peace came to an end with the sudden arrival of hostile aliens, who focussed their assault on the area of and around Simfur, hitting Metrotitan the worst. Just shortly before, the Science Division had uncovered a special artifact at an excavation site near Simfur. On Megatron's orders, the artifact was swiftly dug up and brought to the safety of Trypticon, for which the convoy had to go through Metrotitan. As per their duty, the soldiers of the Defense Force protected the convoy from harm. Defiance #1 Once the battle had been won, Megatron desired to pursue the attackers and see them destroyed, but Optimus believed that they should not actively seek conflict. Since Cybertron was in a state of crisis, Megatron was temporarily higher in command than Optimus and ignored his wish to wait. Optimus returned to the excavation site and called forth the members of the Science Division, informing them of Megatron's plans and his wish to stay on Cybertron and undo the damages their cities had recently sustained, starting with the city of Metrotitan. He found many sharing his ideal and while Megatron's troops dealt with the aliens, Optimus's team inventorized what needed to be done in Metrotitan. The worst results this yielded were that a number of energy lines had been damaged and that some buildings had been bombarded such that they could topple over any moment. So, Optimus employed several drones for the early stages of the reconstruction.

With Megatron away and the Science Division marginally occupied for the time being, Optimus arranged for the heads of the Security Force, Jazz and Prowl, who were also helping at Metrotitan, to get him inside of Megatron's quarters in Trypticon in the hopes of finding out what was behind Megatron's recent rise in aggression. Defiance #2 Upon Megatron's return to Trypticon, he was told by The Fallen that Optimus, Prowl and Jazz had been in his quarters. Certain that Optimus was scheming against him, he sent the Security Force to the excavation site to have Optimus and whichever of his followers were with him arrested. However, this was a trap for both arrestees and arresters. Knowing that the group would choose to travel through Metrotitan to get to Trypticon, certainly after Wreckage told them that though the main road was under construction, another had been cleared just for them, and that Metrotitan could easily be provoked into collapsing, he sent a unit of loyal soldiers to ambush and annihilate the group at that location.

The ambush went bad for Megatron's soldiers. Though they got the first shot and the resulting explosion took out a few of their targets, Smokescreen laid down a Disruption Cloud around the entire party to obscure them from their attackers. Optimus ordered the group to collect their wounded and retreat to Burthov, while he'd stay to place explosive charges on some of the buildings and make the city cave in on their attackers when they'd move in for the kill. Indeed, Starscream made his entrance shortly after, followed closely by the rest of the unit. Optimus made them know he and his followers would fight back, then set the charges and made a run for it. Metrotitan exploded and toppled behind him, not killing any of Megatron's soldiers, but still creating a distraction that allowed Optimus's group to escape unfollowed. Defiance #3 Foundation #3
