Sureshock (Armada)
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Sureshock" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Sureshock (disambiguation). |
- Sureshock is a Mini-Con from the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Sureshock is the thinker of the Street Action Mini-Con Team, something that she takes great pride in. She represents individuality in the Mini-Con ranks, and encourages others like her friend Alexis to follow suit. Her individualistic outlook can often put her at odds with the much more team oriented High Wire, but the two usually learn from one another's differences, and grow stronger. Although she believes in breaking the mold, she also doesn't just do it for the sake of it. No, Sureshock believes in gathering your own facts, and making your own decisions independently, rather than going off of things that people have already laid out. She cares deeply for all living things, and will fight hard for their freedom.
If needed, she can combine with her fellow members of the Street Action Mini-Con Team to form the mighty Perceptor.

Sureshock was among the earliest Mini-Cons created from Unicron's cells. She was present in the distant past when the time-traveling Earth children made contact with High Wire, and awakened the Mini-Cons' capacity for independent thought. Drift
Millions of years later on Earth, High Wire led Rad, Carlos, and Alexis to the derelict Mini-con ship, and introduced them to Grindor and Sureshock's panels. Alexis put two and two together, and brought Sureshock to life by placing her hand on one of the panels. Carlos copied, and while he acted out a scene from E.T. with Grindor, Alexis took the time to greet Sureshock with actual words. Later, after Grindor used Carlos's skateboard as his Earth form template, Alexis noticed the trend and took the trouble to present her scooter to Sureshock. At least one of the silly humans was actually polite.
Afterward, the Mini-cons took their pet humans for a spin. Then Megatron popped out from behind a cliff because, to ambush them. He and his Decepticons boxed in the kids with their vehicle modes, but when Optimus collided with him and slowly backed up, it confused the Decepticon long enough for the good guys to escape. Metamorphosis Back at the Autobot base inside the Mini-Con ship, Sureshock and the other Mini-Cons agreed to help the Autobots find the Mini-Cons and keep them out of Decepticon slavery and control. Base
When the Autobots received their first Mini-Con activation signal, Sureshock lent her processing power to the search to help narrow down the panel's location. Out in the field, Sureshock and the Street Action Team worked with Optimus Prime in Big Canyon, surveying the area for any signs of storage panels. When the Decepticons arrived to intervene, the Street Action Team displayed their ability to combine for the first time, forming Perceptor. The agile Mini-Con gestalt miraculously overwhelmed both Megatron and Starscream until Optimus Prime could Powerlinx with his new partner, Sparkplug, and unleash a Maximum Blast. Comrade
Sureshock and the Street Action Team joined the kids in teaching Hot Shot how to play the game of "Tag" inside the Autobot base. Hot Shot was worn out trying to chase them down until he thought to use Jolt to "tag" the kids for him. Sureshock and the other Mini-Cons later accompanied the Autobots to Antarctica to search for a new Mini-Con. They used Prime's trailer as a mobile headquarters from which they coordinated the search. Soldier Later, Sureshock helped Rad and the kids bring supplies up to the Autobot base. She and the other Mini-Cons then joined the Autobots on a mission to the forest, where a firefight with the Decepticons led to a forest fire. Working with Red Alert, the Mini-Cons converted Optimus Prime's trailer into a fire engine, pumping water from a nearby lake to put out the fires. Jungle
Sureshock remained behind at the base with Alexis while Rad and Carlos took High Wire and Grindor to play at the carnival. She probably wanted to go play too, but remained loyal to her partner when Alexis went out to lecture the boy on their immaturity. Carnival
Out on a desert mission, Sureshock was trying to get the drop on Demolishor when she and the rest of the kids and Street Action Team were caught in a sandtrap. They fell into a deep series of catacombs, built by denizens of the Sahara long ago after they discovered a Mini-Con storage panel in the sand. Sureshock and the others were nearly killed by the various traps and guards protecting the panel underground, and the Mini-Con team had to form Perceptor to protect the kids from harm. Palace
When Billy and Fred were kidnapped by Cyclonus, Sureshock and her friends attempted to rescue them, only to be captured themselves by Megatron. They were saved once Fred used Laserbeak to zap Megatron and distract him long enough for the Autobots to save the day. Confrontation As the search for more Mini-Cons continued, Sureshock and the Street Action Team participated in a mission deep underground in a city's subway tunnels. Underground They also confronted Megatron in a sunken underwater city, but the Decepticons succeeded in capturing the dormant Mini-Cons on both occasions. Ruin
As Rad began to learn more about the Mini-Cons, he started to question whether they should be forced to fight in a war not of their making. Almost as if in answer to his concerns, Sureshock and the other Mini-Cons took up arms in the next conflict, showing valor and courage on the battlefield that made it clear they were fighting for what they believed in, just like the Autobots and the kids. Prehistory
When the Decepticons stormed the Autobot headquarters, Sureshock helped man the internal defense systems to drive off the invaders. Swoop She also bundled up heavily in order to go shoping for groceries with Alexis. Didn't look conspicuous at all, nope. Overmatch
Sureshock and the Street Action Team were present for the Autobots' first encounter with Sideways. Gale
When the boys decided to go on a camping trip with the Autobots, they forgot to tell Alexis. Hurt over being left out, Alexis furiously declared that she never wanted to go anyway. Sureshock remained behind at Autobot base with Alexis, trying to calm her down. When Red Alert and Carlos were caught in a mudslide, Sureshock and Alexis coordinated Autobot activities from base, desperately standing by for any good news. Although she was frantic with worry while they were in danger, Alexis didn't forget she was angry at the boys when they got back to base. Sureshock took the boys' side against Alexis, though... probably because she was sick of being called "Grindor" (not to mention a "boy"). Vacation
When Blurr rescued Incinerator from the Decepticons' clutches, Sureshock and the Street Action Team were the first Mini-Cons to welcome him to the Autobot base. Reinforcement Later, Sureshock's team and Jolt helped create a miniature obstacle course from Hot Shot and Blurr to train on. Decisive Battle
Soon after, Sureshock and the Street Action Team received a transmission from the Land Military Team on the moon. It seemed that some of the Decepticon-allied Mini-Cons wanted peace, and were seeking an opportunity to come over to the Autobots. With the help of Rad and Fred, they convinced Optimus Prime to give the "enemy" Mini-Cons a chance, and soon the Autobots had a number of new allies. Vow
When a computer virus manifestation of Sideways infiltrated the Autobot mainframe, High Wire, Grindor and Sureshock helped the kids fight back against the infection. Sideways still had a few tricks up his sleeve, however, and he converted the minds of the Street Action Team and the kids into computerized avatars, sucking them into his digital world. In this unreal landscape, they passed by representations of Cybertron and other figures, before being chased by a shadowy planetoid back into the real world along a path Red Alert made for them. Chase
After the Autobots rescued Prowl's Mini-Con panel, Sureshock and the Street Action Team were the first to welcome him to the Autobot headquarters. Tactician On monitor duty, the Street Action Team ID'ed Thrust flying in circles over the Autobot base, and reported it to Vice-Commander Jetfire while Optimus was in repairs. The kids had to translate for Jetfire, though, and he'd never bothered to learn his Mini-Con bleeps from his bloops. Linkup
Grindor and Sureshock joined the kids in the cheering section as Jetfire beat Smokescreen in arm-wrestling three out of three times. Detection When a Mini-Con signal went off linking the three Space Mini-Con Team panels, Sureshock and the others reacted when the signal pointed to a panel hidden right inside their own base. They joined the kids in searching out the panel in the damaged sections of the ship. The search party came across Sky Blast's panel, activating the Mini-Con. To everyone's surprise, however, Sky Blast appeared openly hostile. Awakening It soon became apparent, though, that Sky Blast was merely frightened. He cowered behind Rad when Sureshock and the others formed Perceptor to protect the kids. They eventually coaxed him back out into the main part of the base, and convinced the new Mini-Con to assist the Autobots. Desperate
Alexis was briefly seen riding Sureshock when the kids decided to sneak the Space Mini-Con Team out of the base. Sureshock didn't accompany them when they ran away, though. Runaway
Sureshock was present when Starscream first switched sides to join the Autobots. Regeneration During the subsequent raid on the Decepticon base, Sureshock and the Street Action Team accompanied the Autobots as Perceptor, and focused on freeing the Mini-Cons while the Autobots engaged the enemy. Perceptor briefly split into his three components when avoiding an attack by Tidal Wave. Rescue
After Starscream and Jetfire rescued Firebot from Mars, Sureshock was among the Mini-Cons who welcomed the new arrival to the Autobots. Mars When Starscream betrayed the Autobots and returned to the Decepticons, the kids were all very upset, especially Alexis. Sureshock did her best to console Alexis after Starscream's departure. Threaten As the Decepticons threatened the safety of Earth with their Hydra Cannon, Sureshock and the Street Action Team watched helplessly with the kids as the Autobots tried to counter the threat. Crisis
Sureshock and the Mini-Cons all chose to willingly follow the Autobots into space aboard the Axalon, fighting alongside them against the Decepticons. When Hot Shot attempted to leave the kids behind, however, the Street Action Team formed Perceptor and organized a mutiny of the Mini-Con troops. They passively took over the bridge and made it clear by speaking in English for the first time that the humans were coming along...or else. Depart
The Axalon made its way into space, and soon joined by other Mini-Cons empowered by the Linkage. Sureshock and the Street Action Team telepathically explained to the kids that the Mini-Cons were all coming together to fight the great enemy...Unicron. As they encountered the Decepticon ship, Sureshock helped organized the Mini-Cons on board to man the armaments and fight back against Megatron's troops. Miracle
Once they arrived in orbit around Cybertron, Sureshock immediately sensed Unicron's presence. The Mini-Cons all quickly gathered together in space, forming a shield against a deadly black hole Sideways had formed as a "surprise" for the Autobots. As the power of the black hole grew stronger, the Mini-Cons unified in a green ball of energy, neutralizing the threat with a rain of light. Sureshock and the Mini-Cons implored Galvatron and the others to stop fighting, but only succeeded in getting a temporary cessation of hostilities. Uprising
After Thrust stole the Skyboom Shield and Requiem Blaster for Unicron, High Wire recognized the place where Hot Shot was searching for the traitor. The kids and the Street Action Team made their way underground to join the search party. They got caught in a stand-off between Thrust and Starscream, and the kids were somehow warped through time. When the timeline reset itself, the Street Action Team had a few extra moments to form Perceptor and distract Thrust, saving Starscream. Drift This led to a fight with Thrust and Sideways inside the core of Unicron, who stood revealed as Cybertron's moon. Portent Later, Sureshock and the others watched on helplessly as Unicron grew more powerful, and Starscream sacrificed himself to bring an alliance between the Autobots and Decepticons. Cramp As the truce was forged between the two factions, Sureshock and the Street Action Team attended as representatives of the Mini-Cons. They formed Perceptor and joined hands with Optimus Prime and Galvatron to commemorate the occasion. Alliance
With the united Transformer armada bringing the fight to Unicron, the war council reached the conclusion that Unicron needed the three super-weapons to power himself. Their best course of action therefore was to penetrate Unicron's defenses and awaken the nine individual Mini-Cons that composed the weapons, separating their will from Unicron. Although Prime and Galvatron infiltrated Unicron to achieve that purpose, High Wire, Grindor and Sureshock determined they would need to be present in order to push the Mini-Cons back to consciousness. The Street Action Team and the kids made their way into Unicron using the hidden warp tunnel below Cybertron's surface. Union
In Unicron's heart, Sureshock and the others found Optimus and Galvatron facing off against Sideways. Shockingly, Unicron was able to reassert control over the Mini-Cons, placing them back under his personal domination. Their enslavement was only temporary, however, as the kids were able to reach out to Sureshock and the others, awakening them so that they could awaken the Mini-Cons of the Star Saber, Skyboom Shield and Requiem Blaster in turn, causing Unicron to grind to a halt. Origin As Optimus Prime and Galvatron remained inside Unicron to settle the final score between them, Sureshock and the assorted kids and Mini-Cons escaped aboard Jetfire. After the final destruction of Unicron and Galvatron, the Street Action Team accompanied Hot Shot and Jetfire back to Earth, where they said their final goodbyes to the children. Mortal Combat

Sureshock and her team were among the very few Mini-Cons still around on Earth and Cybertron ten years after the Unicron Battles. They primarily stayed at Ocean City and were close to Kicker Jones. Cybertron City Kicker called upon Sureshock's ATV mode when the Terrorcons invaded Desert City. With her help, they reached a team of scientist left behind at the facility, and took them through an emergency escape route. Scorpinok

Following the Powerlinx battles, the Street Action Team came to be regarded as celebrities among the Mini-Con community. Seeking respite from all of the fame that they had cultivated after the Transformers' conflicts on Earth, Sureshock, High Wire, and Grindor answered Anti-Blaze's call to fight back against insurgents attacking his colony. As Perceptor, the trio hunted down the last few rebels that remained after the breaking of the Sky Terror Team, and the disappearance of Soundwave and Unicron. Sureshock was among the Mini-Cons who escaped from Cybertron only to crash on Earth. Alongside High Wire, Grindor and Sparkplug, she lay deactivated in a cave for a million years until Rad White stumbled into it and accidentally awakened them. After repairing themselves, the Mini-Cons befriended Rad, Carlos and Alexis, and asked them to be their guides to Earth during their search for the other lost Mini-Cons. Armada #3 However, as Sureshock and the others were entertaining the kids with a ride on Project Supernova, they suddenly came under attack by Megatron, who had tracked them to Earth. After telling their human friends about the Autobot-Decepticon war from which they had escaped, the Mini-Cons scanned new alternate modes and led the Decepticons away from populated areas. Armada #4 In a nearby canyon, the Street Action Team found a team of Autobots out to put a stop the Decepticons' search for Mini-Cons, and they watched the ensuing battle. After another group of Mini-Cons joined in and helped the Bulks drive the Decepticons away, Sureshock and her friends allied themselves with the Autobots. Armada #5
The Street Action Team was present when Sparkplug tried to convince Optimus Prime to let him infiltrate the Decepticon base. Armada #6 Later, after Sureshock helped scare off Billy and Fred as they bullied Rad, the team took the kids on a ride around town. Their fun and games ended when a Mini-Con beacon summoned them to a large monolith which turned out to be a starship. Alongside all other Mini-Cons on Earth, the Street Action Team entered the monolith, which rocketed off into space. Armada #8 The Mini-Cons were taken to the Moon, where another group of Mini-Cons led by Dualor had constructed a moonbase where their race could live in peace forever. The Street Action Team were against this, as they'd much rather have lived on Earth with their human friends. Armada #9 Sureshock began to doubt that the Autobots would come save them, and she wondered aloud if she and her teammates would ever see Rad, Carlos and Alexis again. Fortunately for them, the Decepticons invaded the base shortly afterwards, and everyone inside was forced to evacuate to Earth. Armada #10
After returning to the Autobot base on Earth, the Street Action Team were seen listening to one of Rook's speeches about Mini-Con independence. Fire & Ice When the Mini-Cons learned that Unicron was targeting Cybertron, they gathered together in order to return to their homeworld and fight him. Saying their goodbyes to Rad, Carlos and Alexis, the Street Action Team joined the other Mini-Cons at the Loop on Cybertron and poured their energies into the Mini-Con Matrix. This allowed Over-Run to fire a massive energy blast at Unicron, crippling him. The End
Prevenge
- Voice actor: Samantha Newark (English)
When a mysterious trans-dimensional portal appeared before Sureshock, "someone" told her not to go through it, prompting Sureshock to do so in an act of defiance. She found herself in a metallic corridor after stepping through the portal, where she was almost stepped on by another arrival, Arcee. The pair got off roughly at first, due to their vastly different visual styles, but made amends quickly. Sureshock then attempted to Powerlinx to Arcee's arm, an act that the larger 'bot found highly inappropriate.
Sureshock was ready to face off against whatever foes and overcome whatever traps were laid out for them within the labyrinth they had been taken to, but Arcee pointed out that all that awaited them was an unprotected door. Stepping though it, they met with six other 'bots who had also been abducted from their home dimensions: Ironhide, Blades, Sonar, Ravage, Ultra Magnus and Snarl. The group's abductor made his presence known, and ordered them to fight to the death. Sureshock flip-flopped on whether or not she wanted to do so, changing her mind constantly to avoid agreeing with anyone. The abductees eventually forced their captor to step into view, though only Snarl recognized the Skuxxoid for who he was. Sureshock quickly consulted TFWiki.Net to fill everyone in on what they were dealing with. Unimpressed, Snarl punted the villain over the horizon, leaving the group to figure out how to get home. Sureshock attempted to use her mind to do so, to no avail. The group eventually settled on a solution: to all laugh together, like characters in a cheesy cartoon are prone to do when the episode's over. Surprisingly enough, this worked, and everyone was sent back home. Prevenge

As Jetfire prepared to send troops to Earth to deal with this new threat, the Street Action Team showed up and offered to lend a hand. Sureshock was among the Mini-Cons who fled from Cybertron to Earth, where they lay dormant for four million years before waking up and meeting Rad White and his friends. After introducing herself and her friends, Sureshock explained to the humans how they had come to the planet, but regrettably refused to get involved with the war again by saving Optimus Prime. First Encounter! They soon realized that running away wouldn't solve anything, though, and Sureshock helped distract Megatron long enough for Optimus Prime to recover and call for reinforcements. Friends and Foes! The Street Action Team quickly befriended Rad, Carlos and Alexis, and after some racing around, they followed the humans into the wreckage of their ship in search of its locator log. Inside, they were attacked by Demolishor, who downed Sureshock and High Wire with a single blast. Deep Trouble!
In order to learn more about how to behave on Earth, the Street Action Team began following their human friends during their daily life. Sureshock came with Alexis to the local observatory, where she decided to "help" by uploading her information on space into their mainframe. Unfortunately, it was more than the human-made computer could handle, and it promptly crashed. Just a Memory! The Autobots later attempted to keep Sureshock and the other Mini-Cons safe by sending them back to Cybertron, but the plan failed due to the Mini-Cons' refusal and a Decepticon attack. No Way Back!
While racing with their human friends, the Street Action Team came under attack from Starscream. While Alexis and the other humans ran for help, the Mini-Cons kept the Decepticon busy by combining into Perceptor. They almost lost to Starscream's Star Saber, but were saved thanks to the timely intervention of Optimus Prime. The Two-Edged Blade A while later, Sureshock and the other Mini-Cons surrendered themselves to the Decepticons in order to buy the Autobots some time to prepare for an incoming missile strike. Earthshaker! While en route to the Decepticon base on the Moon, they easily broke out of their cells, took control of the prison craft and returned to Earth. Lost in Space!
Reader's Digest Armada novels
After fleeing the Cybertronian civil war, Sureshock found herself slumbering on Earth for eons. She was awakened by Alexis and her friends within a cave, where the children and the Mini-Cons quickly became friends. However, a mechanism within the remains of the Mini-Cons' ship teleported both Autobot and Decepticon combattants on-planet, bringing the Transformers' war to Earth. Sureshock, High Wire and Grindor teamed up with Optimus to thwart Megatron's attempts at capturing the Mini-Cons. Megatron was driven away when Sureshock combined with her friends into Perceptor, and raised an impenetrable shield, making any further attempts to capture them on Megatron's part futile. Having reformatted herself into a high-tech scooter, Sureshock then gave Alexis a ride home back into town, having decided to stay with her new human friend rather than stay behind with Optimus and his Autobots. The Battle Begins
Alexis took to riding Sureshock around all the time, since she was way cooler than her old scooter. After school, the kids and their Mini-Cons readied themselves to visit the Autobots when Fred and Billy intercepted them, and questioned their schoolmates as to where they had gotten their new vehicles. Rad was able to quickly cobble together a story that his dad had gotten the next year's models through his "connections." Once they were out of the duo's earshot, Sureshot warned Alexis that they had narrowly avoided a close call. Coming upon the mountainside concealing the Mini-Cons' ship, they found the cave leading within sealed shut by a stone door. Thanks to the wireless connection the Mini-Cons maintained with their vessel, they were able to nonetheless grant themselves access to the Autobots' base. However, they found the base deserted. Using one of the computers, Sureshock tracked Optimus's energy signature to a nearby highway. The group found him with Hot Shot and Red Alert, and the two young Autobots scrutinized the Mini-Cons, having only heard of them in old war stories. After brief introductions, the group heard explosions going off nearby; the Decepticons were attacking the Autobots' base! The children and their Mini-Cons hid in the nearby brush while the Autobots dealt with their enemies. During the battle, a stray shot from Megatron caused an rock slide to tumble down towards the kids and their Mini-Cons. Thankfully, Hot Shot left the battlefront to rescue them, and zipped them away to a safer location, with the Mini-Cons fastening themselves to Hot Shot's vehicle mode. En route, more Mini-Con panels were discovered, and Hot Shot linked up with his new partner, "Jolt," before heading back into the fray. Sureshock and the others stayed behind, finding a new hiding spot to view the battle safely. The Decepticons were eventually driven back, though they unfortunately managed to snatch away a couple of dormant Mini-Cons for themselves before warping off-planet. Race for the Mini-Con Robots

Puzzled by the concept of Halloween, the Street Action Mini-Cons got taken trick-or-treating by their human friends. As Alexis was collecting money for UNICEF, Sureshock opted to do the same. Thousands of years later, after the Mini-Cons returned to Cybertron, he continued to tell the story of that night and encouraged the young Mini-Cons to trick-or-treat. He also wore an Alexis mask to honour her memory. Something Robotic This Way Comes

Toys
Armada
- Street Action Mini-Con Team (Mini-Con 3-pack, 2002)
- Takara name: Street Action Micron
- Takara ID number: MM-01
- Takara release date: December 26, 2002
- Known designers: Aaron Archer (Hasbro), Hideaki Yoke and Takashi Kunihiro (Takara)
- Released in the first wave of Armada toys, Sureshock transforms into a motorized scooter. She can also combine with her teammates to form the legs of Perceptor.
- As a Mini-Con, she has a Powerlinx socket on the underside of her vehicle mode that allows her to attach to larger toys with compatible Powerlinx plugs, activating special gimmicks on the larger toys when attached to a "live" plug.
- CD Limited Edition Street Action Micron (CD pack-in, 2003)
- Release date: February 1, 2003
- These redecoes of the Street Action Microns have been tweaked to make the three more cartoon-accurate; in Arcee's case, this meant somewhat lighter orange plastic, and a light blue-gray paint on her face and bike seat.
- This set was only available with the CD single of the first Legends of the Microns theme song, "Transformer: Dream Again" by Psychic Lover.
- The team's official name has bounced a bit: the name listed above is what it's called on the packaging. Magazine solicitations called it the "Super Anime Color Edition Street Action Micron", while the "Micron Museum" portion of Takara's website called it the "Street Action Micron Anime Color (CD version)".
- Arcee (Change Micron, 2003)
- Change Micron ID number: 3
- Release date: April ??, 2003
- Part of the first Kabaya candy toy Change Micron assortment, each of the Street Action Microns were sold in individual boxes, packed with a small bag of sugar-pellet candy.
- The most immediately-noticeable change to "Arcee" is that she lacks the yellow paint on her headlamps and has darker gray for her face and seats. But these toys are also actually a completely new mold-set, with various tiny detail differences from the Hasbro/Takara releases.
- Magna Convoy DX Set (Multi-pack, 2003)
- ID number: MC-XX
- Release date: November 19, 2003
- The Exdimensions redecos of the Street Action Microns were part of the "Magna Convoy DX" set, which also included "Convoy Final Battle Coloration" (Powerlinx Optimus Prime) and "Ultra Magnus Special Clear Version". This set was only available at Japanese Toys"R"Us stores. Arcee was given a color scheme sort of inspired by her Generation 1 namesake, being mostly white with pink and red accents.
- This toy also doubles as the separate character Arcee (no, another one).
Energon
- Perceptor (Energon Class, 2004)
- Takara name: Cliffjumper
- Takara ID number: SC-09
- Takara release date: February 26, 2004
- Known designers: Takio Ejima (Takara)
- Released in the second wave of Energon "Energon Class" toys, Sureshock now transforms into an off-road one-man ATV. She can still combine with her pack-in partners High Wire and Grindor to form Perceptor, except this time she forms the torso and arms.
- Takara's "Charge" removes the orange paint apps on the rear mudguards. Sureshock's final toy notably differs in design when compared to the cartoon, due to her cartoon model being based on an early Takara sketch that featured a completely different design (see below). In this preliminary design, all of her wheels would've ended up on her arms; the front of the ATV would've ended up on the back of her head, with the handle bars hanging off like horns; and the rear fenders would've formed her feet, rather than her shoulders. This design would've also changed Perceptor's combined form a little bit, as all four wheels would end up on his arms, instead of his torso.
Universe (2003)
- Sunstorm with Inferno and Street Action Mini-Con Team (Multi-pack, 2004)
- An evil redeco of the original Armada Street Action Mini-Con Team was included in a Walmart-exclusive Universe multi-pack. In this set, Sureshock changed to a predominantly black deco. The team was packed in with Sunstorm and Inferno.
- Oddly, all photos on the card show the set in their respective molds' original Armada color schemes, seemingly due to an incredibly rushed production.
- This toy was repurposed as the Shattered Glass incarnation of Sureshock.
- Perceptor (Basic Class, 2005)
- Energon Perceptor was repackaged in the Universe toyline, with no changes to the contents within.
- This set was largely sold at drug stores and "discount" chains like Big Lots!, part of the first wave/year of "Basic Class" repacks sold though these outlets.
Cybertron
- Backblast vs Sureshock (Mini-Con 2-pack, 2006)
- Released in the fourth and final wave of Cybertron Mini-Con 2-packs, Cybertron Sureshock is a rather stunt-bike-showy redeco of his[1] Energon toy. He can, of course, still combine with both Cybertron High Wire and Sureshock to form Cybertron Perceptror.
- He was only available packaged with the Decepticon-allied Backblast. This wave of two-packs did not ship widely or for very long, making them difficult to obtain.
Merchandise
- Bumble (SCF, 2003)
- Accessories: SCF stand
- Available in ACT-10 of the Takara Super Collection Figure PVC line (the last "Act" of the line), this small PVC figurine of Perceptor was available in both full-color and an all-pewter-paint version, packed one each per case of twelve figurines.
Notes
- In the English, Italian and French dubs of Armada, Sureshock is often called Grindor and she's often referred to as a male.
- In Sureshock's only robot mode appearance in Energon, she is the only one of her team to hardly resemble her toy. Although she retains the wider shoulders and the spindly lower half just like her toy, all four of her wheels end up on her arms. This carries over onto the Perceptor CGI model too. This design appears to have originated from an early Takara concept drawing conceived before the toy (see right). The other two members of her team remained mostly unchanged.
- Sureshock's vehicle mode design forms the basis of Megatron's space scooter that debuts in More than Meets the Eye #51.
