Yoshimoto
From Transformers Wiki
- Yoshimoto is a human from the 2001 Robots in Disguise continuity family.
It's not entirely clear what Doctor Yoshimoto's (吉本) field of study is, but he doesn't seem terribly good at it, nor does he listen to his assistants. It's perhaps fortunate that his house, where he conducts his experiments, appears to be safely away from inhabited areas.
He's very good friends with Doctor Kenneth Onishi, with whom he shares a love of classic trains. He also owns many guidebooks.

Dr. Yoshimoto was given a disk by Dr. Onishi for Onishi's son Koji, containing information about the steam engine Grandpa. Onishi was later captured by the Predacons, who were able to extract from the scientist information about the disk's location.
After a disastrous experiment, in which Yoshimoto attempted to substitute nitroglycerin for nitrous oxide, the scientist was confronted by Gas Skunk, Dark Scream and Slapper, who had come for the disk. Before he could look them up in his field guide, the Predacons snatched the disk, but they were promptly frightened off by a fire engine, which they mistook for Optimus Prime. Yoshimoto decided to check his psychosis guidebook for fire engine phobias.
Despite the loss of the disk, Dr. Yoshimoto took Koji on a special nostalgia run on Grandpa. Though the train was escorted by Optimus, Team Bullet Train, and the Autobot Brothers, the Predacons still attempted to attack Grandpa, endangering the passengers, including the scientist. Fortunately, they were unable to hijack the train until after the passengers had disembarked at the end of their journey.
Doctor Yoshimoto and Koji watched as Midnight Express subsequently rescued Grandpa from the ocean. Secret Weapon: D-5
