Climate change is a process of changing the climate system over a long period and over a wide area due to natural processes or as a consequence of human activity, has become a global issue. Natural processes have as a small contribution to climate change whereas human activity is the most significant contributor. This study was conducted to assess effectiveness of IEC package regarding climate change on knowledge among adolescents in Mount Saint Joseph Higher Secondary School at Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu and India. This study was conducted in one group pre and posttest only design which comes under pre experimental research design. 160 adolescents were selected in experimental group by using convenience sampling technique. The knowledge level was assessed by structured knowledge questionnaire. The findings revealed that the mean pre test score was 24.5 and the post test score was 32.06. The calculated t value was 16.5 which found to be statistically significant at p< 0.05 level. This clearly shows that the implementation of IEC package had improvement in knowledge score of post test climate change among adolescents.

Globally, self medication practices are more frequently observed for the Over The Counter (OTC) drugs or medicines (WHO, 1998). Over-the-counter drugs are the drugs that are purchased without prescription of a Registered Medical Practitioner (FDA, 2011). A study was done to find out the effect of IEC (Information, Education and Communication) package on knowledge and attitude of adults (N=400) regarding OTC drugs at urban community, Tiruvannamali district, Tamilnadu, India by using pre and post test design with multistage sampling technique. This study has found that use of OTC drugs would be very common among adults, facilitated by the easy availability of drugs and sources of information from pharmacist. Majority of the adults, 77% in experimental group and 79% in control group were practicing OTC drugs more than 3 years. Most adults are unknowing the adverse and side effects of the OTC drugs that they take and recommend to their relations and peer groups. There is a possibility to get problems due to inappropriate use of nonprescription drugs, so the researcher should be highlighted by using the IEC package to attenuate the danger. The result of this study shows that there is a significant improvement (P<0.05 level) in knowledge and attitude of adults after the administration of IEC package in experimental group than the control group

Abstract- INTRODUCTION- An estimated 2.5 million Indians live with HIV/AIDS. Spread primarily through heterosexual contact, the epidemic is shifting toward women, 29% of whom are currently infected, with still more cases going unreported. OBJECTIVES: The study was intended to asses’ positive living among HIV infected woman and to associate positive living with their demographic variables. MATERIALS & METHODS: A cross sectional study among 200 women infected with HIV attended ART centre, Govt General Hospital, Chennai. TN, India. Their positive living was assessed by Standard Becks Self Reported hopelessness Inventory Scale. RESULTS: The mean score of positive living by Hopelessness was 11.355 with Standard Deviation of 2.53357 and a Median score of 11; most of the women (75%) were moderately Hopeless and none of them were in minimal Hopeless. Computed x2 value indicated that there was no statistically significant association of positive living with any of their demographic variable at p<0.05 in women. CONCLUSIONS: The study findings revealed that majority of women(75%)infected with HIV were having moderate and 11% had severe level of Hopeless, which suggests to implement relaxation Therapy further to them, and none of the Demographic variables played a significant role on their positive living among women infected with HIV. RECOMMENDATIONS(1)Formulate an intervention strategy like counseling, Relaxation therapy to them to reduce their Hopelessness.(2)Promote consistency in condom usage to them during their Sexual Intercourse with partners.(3)Promote sexual Assertiveness among them to prevent increase in Viral Load.(4)Encourage Adherence to ART among them.(5)Empower them to approach life optimistically.

INTRODUCTION-Evaluation is the process of examining a program or process to determine what's working, what's not, and why. It determines the value of learning and training programs and acts as blueprints for judgment and improvement. The goal of formative assessment is to gather feedback that can be used by the students to guide improvements in learning context. OBJECTIVES (1) to analyse the effectiveness of formative assessment on academic excellence of paramedical Students MATERIALS&METHODS: Observational Retrospective study was done. Cohort of 38 paramedical students studying Bachelor of Nursing course was selected and their baseline data was obtained. Mark register was scrutinized to extract weekly Exam and university exam marks. Grading of 5 kept as optimum level both marks were graded in 10 point scale. RESULTS: The computed result shows that there is a positive correlation between formative and university exam results in all subjects namely Anatomy Physiology, Nutrition Biochemistry, Psychology, and Microbiology , Secondly there is a significant positive association between weekly and university Examination marks in all subjects, but contradictory Psychology subject has no association CONCLUSIONS: The result shown that there is a positive correlation between formative and university exam results which indicates that a student scored high in weekly exams has a possibility of getting High marks in their university exams. The study findings explored that ongoing formative assessment and proving feedback serve as bench mark for students to improve their learning context, which promotes deeper understanding of subjects and shine with excellence in academics. RECOMMENDATIONS(1)Encourage the students to identify their strength and weakness in learning to achieve optimum level academic performance.(2)Teachers also can improve their teaching by getting feedback in ongoing assessment.(3)Formative examination reduces the burden to students in preparing their university exams. (4)Formative assessment enhances " learning is a Joy " .

INTRODUCTION-Sexual assertiveness begins with acquiring the knowledge of what is appropriate and inappropriate sexual behavior. From early years, we were most likely taught " good touch " and " bad touch " to differentiate the handling of sexual from nonsexual parts of the body. Jenkins writes that sexual assertiveness empowers women and men alike to be active in what happens to their bodies where sexuality is concerned. OBJECTIVES (1) to estimate level of Sexual Assertiveness among female commercial sex workers 2)To associate the sexual assertiveness with their selected demographic variables. MATERIALS &METHODS: Mixed Method study was done among 30 FSW to explore the Sexual Assertiveness by using sexual assertiveness scale (Quantitative) in-depth interview (Qualitative). Level of sexual assertiveness was assessed by sexual assertiveness scale developed by Dr.Patricia J. Morokoff , following that indepth interview were done in 7sex workers. RESULTS: The computed result shows that majority of FSW (56.7%) has inadequate sexual assertiveness and there is a significant association (0.05 %) between their marital status and number of dependents but their age and education doesn't play any significant role in their assertiveness. CONCLUSIONS: The result shown that there is a less sexual assertiveness among Female Sex Workers, they were compromised themselves for not using condom during the sexual act. No woman could choose to be in sex work and making money but social and economic factors paved the way towards sex work. Provision of economic safety of female sex workers reduces the condom negotiation thus decrease the chance of HIV transmission. RECOMMENDATIONS (1) Promote Job opportunities for Female Sex Workers (FSW)(2) Rescue them and restore them in good income source (3) Encourage sex communication in married couples to share their own sexual need between them to avoid search of sexual act outside of marriage ties and indulge in unprotected sexual intercourse.(4)Create intensive condom awareness among both Genders, and consistent condom use.(5)Encourage women empowerment(6)Improve the status of women in society, promote Gender equality. (7)Increase self confidence and strength of women in society

Women are murdered all over the world. But in India a most brutal form of killing females takes place regularly, even before they can be born. Female feticide--the selective abortion of female fetuses--is killing upwards of one million females in India annually with far-ranging and tragic consequences. In some areas, the sex ratio of females to males has dropped to less than 8000:1000. Females not only face inequality in this culture, they are even denied the right to be born. Why do so many families selectively abort baby daughters? In a word: economics. Aborting female fetuses is both practical and socially acceptable in India. The main causes of female feticide widely identified Dowry system, Illiteracy, Low Status of women in society, Patriarchal Marriage system, Religious beliefs, Socio-Cultural practices. Consequences of Female Feticide leads to Decrease in the female population. Adverse effect on women's health physically, mentally and emotionally. Women are abused and sexually exploited. Leads to women trafficking., kidnapped, bought and sold for marriage, Suicide rates in women will increase and also a Polyandry system of marriage will emerge. A result of preference for sons. The cultural reasons for sex-selective abortions and the government's current strategies against this problem are identified. However, the problem's scope might be too great for the Indian government. Humanitarian efforts are needed to save the girl child. Strategies to combat domestic violence must deal with the root cause, which is women's powerlessness, as well as women's immediate needs. Community education programs must stress women's rights, the likely consequences of domestic violence, and the need to reverse social norms about male supremacy. Additional research is also needed on the sequel of domestic violence and the attitudes of violent men. Awareness regarding gender preference and related law and parental counseling to avoid gender preference with adoption of small family norm is recommended.

Introduction: Region specific Health related quality of life (HRQoL) scores or utility values are representative and pivotal for economic evaluations as they are influenced by value judgement of local population. This study systematically reviewed and pooled EuroQol-5 Dimension (EQ-5D) utility scores of Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) across primary studies from Asia. <br><br>Methods: Studies reporting EQ-5D utility scores among adult RA patients from Asian countries were systematically searched in PubMed-Medline, Scopus and Embase since inception through February 2020. Selected studies were systematically reviewed and study quality assessment was performed. Meta-analysis was performed using a random-effect model with sub-group and meta-regression analysis to explore heterogeneity.<br><br>Results: Among 1391 searched, 37 studies with 31,983 participants were systematically reviewed and meta-analysis was conducted among 31 studies. The pooled EQ-5D scores and EQ-5D visual analogue score were 0.66 (95% CI 0.63 to 0.69, I2 = 99.65%) and 61.21 (50.73 to 71.69, I2 = 99.56%) respectively with high heterogeneity. For RA patients with no, low, moderate and high disease activity based on disease activity score (DAS)-28, the pooled EQ-5D scores were 0.78 (0.65 to 0.90), 0.73 (0.65 to 0.80), 0.53 (0.32 to 0.74), and 0.47 (0.32 to 0.62), respectively. On meta-regression, age of patients (p&lt;0.05) was positively associated and use of glucocorticoids (p&lt;0.05) was inversely associated with utility values.<br><br>Conclusion: Lower EQ-5D scores were associated with severe disease activity, increasing age and female gender among RA patients. The study provides pooled EQ-5D scores RA patients that are useful inputs for cost-utility studies in Asia.<br><br>Prospero Registration: PROSPERO 2020 CRD42020165263.
