La Física es la ciencia que estudia los entes naturales. En el caso de la física aristotélica, ha... more La Física es la ciencia que estudia los entes naturales. En el caso de la física aristotélica, hablamos de los entes móviles en tanto que móviles, es decir, en todos aquellos aspectos que explican los distintos tipos de movimiento de que son capaces: generación, corrupción, alteración y movimiento locativo. Entre los aspectos relevantes de esta investigación el más sobresaliente son los principios o causas de esos movimientos. De este problema se ocupa el estagirita en los libros I y II de la Física, pero no es hasta el libro II que introduce la noción de causa a partir de la definición de naturaleza como causa y principio.1 El razonamiento consiste en mostrar que naturaleza no es un término unívoco: se dice naturaleza de la forma de un ente natural, de su materia prima, de su principio e incluso se dice que la naturaleza es fin. Acostumbrados a la proliferacion de sentidos que pueden atribuirsele a un mismo termino en la obr... more Acostumbrados a la proliferacion de sentidos que pueden atribuirsele a un mismo termino en la obra del estagirita, es singular la suerte que ha corrido mimesis y, junto con el, todo el vocabulario mimetico. A diferencia de otros conceptos claves de su filosofia, la mimesis ha sido circunscripta por la tradicion a su empleo en el ambito artistico, ligandola fundamentalmente al sentido que Aristoteles le atribuye en la Poetica. Sin embargo, a traves del corpus encontramos una variedad de empleos que demuestran que la mimesis no solo es el rasgo generico comun que define a una tecnica productiva que, a su vez, comprende una variedad de especies (tales como la poetica, la musica, la danza la pintura, la escultura, etc.), sino tambien una habilidad innata de aprendizaje que a lo largo de la vida nos permite adquirir formas mas o menos complejas de conocimiento. Retomando esta perspectiva, profundizaremos sobre las implicancias que tienen las distintas lecturas que pueden ofrecerse acerca de cuál el mejor modo de vida posible para el hombre. El objeto de esta indagación es iluminar nuestra comprensión acerca de cuál es el mejor modo de vida que nos es posible vivir, cómo alcanzarlo y de qué modo la vida práctica y la vida contemplativa pueden contribuir al cuidado de sí y al perfeccionamiento de sí y de su entorno.

Tenemos el agrado de invitarlas/os a la conferencia que dictará el Prof. Jorge Mittelmann, titulada: “Habituación moral y acción incidental en la Etica Nicomaquea”, el día 25 de noviembre a las 18 horas (Arg.).
El Dr. Mittelmann es Profesor de la Universidad de Los Andes (Chile). Realizó su Doctorado en Université de Paris Sorbonne - Paris IV. Sus trabajos han sido publicados en las principales revistas internacionales como Ancient Philosophy, el Archiv für Geschichte der Philosophie, Elenchos, Methexis, Rhizomata y el Journal of the History of Philosophy y Phronesis. Es también autor de una traducción anotada de los dos primeros tratados del Organon de Aristóteles (Losada, 2009).
El encuentro se realizará de modo virtual y será coordinado por la Lic. María Emilia Avena (UBA/CONICET,).
