I focus on the metaethical issues of normativity in moral naturalism. I have a general interest in the relationship between empirical data and the moral and political spheres, notable in my master's dissertation and undergraduation's final work. Summarily, I defend that a naturalistic perspective of the moral phenomena is crucial to contemporary debates on human conduct. The issue I focused on master's research was that on the one hand post-humean naturalistic theories have a descriptive grasp on morality, i.e. are absent of normative weight; and on the other, value theories lack understanding and dialogue with the massive empirical data available regarding our behavior.

From an introduction of his understanding of meaning in his early and late life, his notion of grammar will be analyzed to understand his rebuttal of scientific and phenomenological discourse as a proper means for dealing with the problem of color through his critique of Goethe. Then Wittgenstein’s take on color will become clear as his sympathy for Runge, the painter that Goethe criticizes, is analyzed to understand color as a language-game regarding kinds of colors as numbers and geometrical figures, in that grammar rather than experience is used to acknowledge them.

Abstract We will trace Putnam's rebuttal of the necessity of ontological foundations for ethical theories, analyzing his trajectory through authors such as Quine, Moore, and Wittgenstein. From Quine's epistemological naturalism, we will establish his coherentist pragmatism perspective. From there, we'll investigate his departure from ontology according to his Wittgensteinian perspective of Moorean and Platonic conceptualism.

We will trace Putnam's rebuttal of the necessity of ontological foundations for ethical theories, analyzing his trajectory through authors such as Quine, Moore, and Wittgenstein. From Quine's epistemological naturalism, we will establish his coherentist pragmatism perspective. From there, we'll investigate his departure from ontology according to his Wittgensteinian perspective of Moorean and Platonic conceptualism. Characterizing Heidegger as the primary target of his criticism of a necessity for ontology, he dissociates himself even from Quine by embracing a conceptual relativity inspired in mereology and language-games to establish the objectivity of ethics without a requirement for objects. Lastly, from this definition, we will investigate Putnam's conception of ethics, which is strongly inspired by Dewey and Aristotle in dialogue with Levinas and Kant toward a "human cognitive flourishing."
