One of them, a female grave, which was found recently, revealed textiles and furs. By isotopes and dental analyses, the environment and the physical living conditions have been explored.

Man found some bird bones or even tube of ivory with holes between the Pyrenean Mountains and East Europe. These tubes are often called "flute". Almost none of them is complete. The part which is specific of a flute is missing; a labium, which is a sharp edge which produces the vibration in the tube. It is possible to blow these tubes as a sideblowed-flute or as a quena, but playing music that way is not very easy. The new aerophone found (Hohle Fels southwest Germany 2008) is almost complete and can help to find an answer to this question. This aerophone has four complete and one broken hole and a long chamfer at one end. This chamfer looks like the end of a clarinet. In the late Paleolithic, there were no bamboo to make the reed, but it is possible to make a very good reed with a piece of birch bark.
