This paper presents an approach for the automated evaluation of the learner's state of knowledge in an intelligent tutoring system, based on a granular and ontological model of the teaching domain. This approach, called ODALA (Ontology-Driven Auto-Evaluation for Learning Approach), is now being implemented in different self-learning settings, particularly those concerned with algorithmic teaching. ODALA represents the teaching domain as a domain ontology, which not only allows the evaluation to be propagated in each of the domain's components, but also facilitates error classification and detection. The evaluation process includes an error diagnosis module, a marking process, and an update of the learner model, all of which produce a well-calculated knowledge of the state of learners at different abstraction levels. This paper also presents results of the development and experimentation of our algorithmic self-learning system.

This paper is about an ontological representation of a teaching domain (a discipline) in the case of an e-learning by doing purpose. Going from our precedent works about using ontologies for modeling specific domains such as algorithmic and relational databases, we show in this paper that it is possible to generalize our approach to any domain based on e-learning by doing mode. The model introduced here shows a domain through two points of views: the specification view given by the ontology and the resources view generally known in e-learning as learning objects. The specification ontology is a granular model where the knowledge of a considered domain is stored, making the use of the ontology for resources retrieval (web semantic use) or for any other learning or teaching activity guided by the domain semantic. Partant des difficultes qu'ont les etudiants de Master 2 (M2) professionnel en informatique a resoudre les SP (Situations Problemes) pratiques en memoire de fin d'etudes, nous avons decide de travailler avec les etudiants de master 1 (M1) professionnel, des SP similaires dans un processus compose de trois principales etapes : analyser la proposition de l'etudiant, l'evaluer avec une grille d'evaluation criteriee et lorsque plusieurs criteres ne sont pas satisfaisant ou que la note finale n'est pas suffisante, proposer a l'etudiant d'elaborer une nouvelle proposition afin d'ameliorer son travail relativement au criteres non acquis. This paper deals with one of our research directions on software tools enhancing self-learning in computer science disciplines. In this study, we discuss an experiment on relational data bases learning using a tool for the edition and automated evaluation of learners" solutions given as relational algebra trees. Edge caching is one of the most emerging technologies recognized as a content retrieval solution in the edge of the network. It has been also considered as enabling technology of mobile edge computing (MEC) that presents an interesting opportunity to perform caching services. Particularly, the MEC servers are implemented directly at the base stations (BSs) which enable edge caching and ensure deployment in close-proximity to the mobile users. However, the integration of servers in mobile edge computing environment (base stations) complicates the energy saving issue because the power consumed by mobile edge computing servers (MECS) is costly especially when the load changes dynamically over time.
