The analysis of international survey data leads to deal with cross language free responses. To conserve a CA-like approach, which is a reference methodology to analyse open-ended questions, we propose to apply multiple factor analysis for contingency tables. This methodology allows for representing the whole of the lexical tables in a same reference space, keeping CA-like features, in particular transition formulae and interpretation rules. To illustrate the interest of this approach, we use an example extracted from a large international survey in four countries. 1

We propose a new method to describe contingency tables with double partition structures in columns and rows. Furthermore, we propose new superimposed representations, based on the introduction of variable dilations for the partial clouds associated with the partitions of the columns and the rows. We illustrate our contributions with the analysis of some mortality data in Spanish regions.

Multiple correspondence analysis (MCA) in the presence of missing data is usually performed by removing the records that have missing or not available (NA) data; sometimes, an entire row or column of a data matrix is removed, which is not ideal because relevant information on an individual or variable of the study is lost. In some cases, it is assumed that the missing data are a category of the qualitative variable, resulting in a greater variance dispersion in the new axes. Possible solutions to this problem can be the imputation of the missing data or using an algorithm suited to the presence of this type of data. This work is focused on performing the MCA method in the presence of missing data, without using imputation techniques, by using the available data principle of the nonlinear estimation by iterative partial least squares (NIPALS) algorithm [25].

Background. Variability in chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression is a well-known phenomenon that underlines the importance of characterizing the said outcome in specific populations. Our objectives were to evaluate changes in the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) over time and determine the frequency of dialysis admission and factors associated with this outcome, to estimate the rate of program’s loss-to-follow-up and the probability of transition between CKD stages over time. Methods. The study type was an observational analytic retrospective cohort in patients treated in a CKD prevention program in Bogota, Colombia, between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2013, with follow-up until December 31, 2018. Adult participants of 18 years of age or older with diagnosed CKD stages G3 or G4 were enrolled into a prevention program.
