Tarihçilerin interaktif haritalar yaptığı, dilbilimcilerin metinlerde kullanılan kelimelerin örüntülerini belirlemek için bilgisayar teknolojilerini kullandığı günümüzde, hemen hemen her disiplinden araştırmacıların Internet’i ve Web’i interaktif bir şekilde kullandığı gözlenmektedir. Yakınsama ile birlikte disiplinler arası sınırların belirsizleşmeye başladığı söylenebilir. Dijital İnsanî Bilimler (DİB) de bu gelişmeler neticesinde geleneksel insanî bilimlerde bilgisayar teknolojilerinin kullanılmaya başlanmasıyla ortaya çıkmıştır. Araştırmada DİB’in genel özelliklerini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Bu sayede yeni kaynak türlerinin belirlenmesi, yeni yöntem ve araştırma davranışlarının kütüphaneler için oluşturduğu zorlukların tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada DİB alanında yayımlanan yayınlar üzerinden bilimetrik analizler yürütülmüştür. Erişilen yayınlar Keyword Plus (ID), doküman özleri ve doküman başlıklarında kullanılan kavramlar üzerinden incelenmiştir. Kavramların incelenmesinde (anahtar kelime, başlık ya da özler) çoklu uyum analizi (Multiple Correspondence Analysis) kullanılmıştır. DİB’de ortaya çıkan yeni kaynak türleri, kütüphanelerde hangi hizmetleri gerektirmektedir? DİB’de kullanılan yöntemler kütüphane ve bilgi hizmeti sağlayan kuruluşlar için yeni altyapıları gerektirmekte midir? gibi sorulara cevap aranmış, DİB’in kütüphane ve bilgi hizmetleri açısından ortaya çıkardığı meydan okumalara dikkat çekilmiştir. Araştırmada kütüphaneler başta olmak üzere bilgi hizmeti sağlayan kuruluşların, DİB gibi tezahür eden alanlar ile bu alanlara yönelik olarak ortaya çıkan kaynak türleri, ihtiyaçları ve araştırma davranışlarına yönelik tespitlerde bulunulmuştur.

Today while historians producing interactive maps and linguists use computer technology in order to determine the word pattern used in texts, it is observed that researchers from almost every discipline use internet and web interactively. It can be claimed that boundaries among the disciplines have started to become uncertain with convergence. As a result of these developments, digital humanities emerged by the beginning of using computer technologies in traditional humanities. The aim of this study was to determine the general characteristics of Digital Humanities. In this way, it is aimed to identify new types of resources and to identify the challenges of new methods and research behaviors for libraries. In this study, the scientometrics was conducted by considering scientific papers published in the field of digital humanities. Accessed publications were evaluated according to the concepts/terms used in keyword plus, document abstracts and titles. Multiple Correspondence Analysis was used in the analysis of the concepts (keywords, title or abstracts). Scope/field-oriented findings as a result of the analysis were discussed. This study tried to answer the questions such as; which kind of services do new resource types appeared in digital humanities require in libraries? Do methods used in digital humanities require new infrastructures for libraries and organizations providing information services? And points out the new challenges posed by digital humanities for libraries and information services. This study presented findings related to emerging new resource types, needs and research behaviors appeared because of developing digital humanities fields for organizations, especially libraries, providing information services.

This paper assesses multidimensional poverty in Sudan and South Sudan. We use the National Baseline
Household Surveys (NBHS) of 2009 to measure poverty incidence in education, consumption, access to
public assets and possession of private assets across these two countries. We differentiate between
children/teenagers aged six to fourteen years and adults aged fifteen years or older. We apply a counting
method for measuring multidimensional poverty at the individual level and perform dominance tests to
check for the robustness of the poverty comparisons. Our findings show regional and sub-population
differences in the unidimensional and multidimensional poverty status of people in Sudan and South
Sudan. Poverty in Sudan is generally less severe than in South Sudan, with a pattern showing (i) lesser
unidimensional incidence of poverty; (ii) lower multidimensional poverty indices and prevalence, but
similar breadth, in Sudan than in South Sudan, both for adults and children. This pattern also points
towards Khartoum and Western Equatoria as the states with the least poverty, and Northern Darfur,
and Warap as the states with the greatest poverty, both for adults and children, in Sudan and South
Sudan, respectively. Policy intended at reducing poverty in each of the two countries should recognize
the poverty profile differences across age groups, geographical areas and dimensions.

Este capítulo analisa a produção acadêmica recente da Sociologia Política brasileira. Para isso, avaliamos um conjunto de 739 artigos publicados em seis periódicos acadêmicos nacionais num intervalo de cinco anos (2013 a 2017) para identificar algumas características dessa produção: se seus autores se reconhecem (ou não) como pertencentes a essa perspectiva; que tipo de temas são preferencialmente estudados atualmente; qual o perfil de gênero dessa produção; que estratégia metodológica utilizam em suas análises, se quantitativa, qualitativa ou ambas e, por fim, quem são os autores do ponto de vista de sua filiação institucional e titulação, ambas no momento da publicação do artigo, de sua formação universitária e carreira acadêmica.

La profession infirmière connait une rapide croissance des effectifs dans
tous les pays occidentaux. Avec la multiplication des secteurs extrahospitaliers, l’académisation des formations et l’instauration de hiérarchies propres, cette croissance s’accompagne d’un processus de différenciation horizontal autant que vertical. Dans un tel contexte, il convient de restituer les enjeux qui traversent la profession en tenant
compte de l’ensemble de ses secteurs d’activité à l’échelle d’un territoire donné. Une analyse de correspondances multiples et une analyse de classification menées sur un échantillon représentatif d’infirmières de Suisse romande (n = 2 923) permet de dégager un espace infirmier dans lequel sont identifiées quatre fractions : les « dominantes médicales », les « dominées médicales », les « élites infirmières », les « hétérodoxes ».
Chacune de ces fractions se caractérise par des représentations et pratiques spécifiques, que ce soit dans le domaine de la pratique des soins, de la production de savoirs ou encore de la relation avec la profession médicale.

Despite the zero tolerance and minimum legal drinking age (MLDA) laws since 1999, crashes caused by underage drinking drivers have occurred every year in the U.S., which is a huge concern of roadway safety. This study utilized nine years (2010 to 2018) of at-fault underage (aged 15 to 20 years) alcohol-intoxicated driver crashes in Louisiana to investigate the hidden crash attribute patterns by employing multiple correspondence analysis (MCA). This exploratory multivariate analysis technique identifies systematic associations among categories of qualitative variables rather than recognizing the effect of a single factor on the response variable. The results exhibited the capability of MCA in discovering the meaningful clouds of crash contributory factors from a complex multidimensional dataset. Fatal crashes happened to underage alcohol-intoxicated drivers who were not using seatbelts on high-speed curve segments at dark without streetlights, whereas single vehicle crashes occurred with moderate injuries among drinking novice teenagers operating light trucks. The findings also revealed the driving behavior patterns of rookie drivers after alcohol intake that resulted in collisions. For example, male teenagers were engaged in impaired driving during weekends under adverse weather conditions, and underage drinking drivers tended to use cellphones in late-night driving. Targeting critical attributes from the associations could be helpful to reduce the related crashes and fatalities. Also, the understanding of attribute groups identified in this study can be included in the educational training programs to target risky driving maneuvers. Integration of multiple interventions can be more strategic in minimizing the underage drinking collisions.

Why are states increasingly developing policies aimed at embracing their populations abroad? This in- terest in diaspora policies has become relevant beyond the academic context, reflecting a growing practice of states and international organizations. To address this, the article first provides a description of the growing number of state practices aimed at their population abroad. Based on an original dataset of thirty-five states, it then uses multiple correspondence analysis (MCA) to establish an inductive ty- pology of sending states policies: expatriate, closed, indifferent, global-nation and managed labor. Finally, it assesses three explanatory frameworks of diaspora policies, finding that, while explanations based on material factors and ethnic conceptions of citizenship provide insights into the determinants of diaspora policies, analyses in terms of governmentality provide a more fruitful framework for research.

Die kapitalistische Globalisierung führte zu einer historisch einmaligen Konzentration von Macht und Reichtum in den Händen weniger. Die öffentliche Diskussion hierüber wird dabei meist von Verschwörungstheorien einer angeblich omnipotenten globalen Elite bestimmt. Eine kritische sozialwissenschaftliche Theorie von Macht und Eliten im Kontext der Globalisierung fehlte jedoch bislang.

Christian Schneickert stellt nun eine empirisch fundierte Aktualisierung der sozialwissenschaftlichen Elitentheorie vor. Er analysiert in seiner international vergleichenden Studie die Sozialstruktur und Globalisierung politischer und wirtschaftlicher Eliten in vier sehr unterschiedlichen Staaten des globalen Nordens und Südens: Brasilien, Deutschland, Indien und den USA.

Die Studie umfasst eine umfassende Darstellung der elitentheoretischen Debatten im 20. Jahrhundert und führt diese bis zu ihrer Erneuerung. Diese theoretischen Neuerungen wendet er sodann an umfangreichem empirischen Material an, indem er biografische Daten von 336 Spitzenpolitikern sowie Vorständen von Global 2000-Unternehmen als Analyse nationaler Machtfeldern konzipiert. Christian Schneickert verknüpft damit bisher nicht verfügbare empirische Daten mit Bourdieus Feldtheorie, welche in der deutschsprachigen Soziologie gegenwärtig große Bedeutung erlangt. Aber auch methodisch ist die Studie innovativ, indem neben klassischen statistischen Verfahren insbesondere multiple Korrespondenzanalysen zum Einsatz kommen.

Digital technology and transformation offer unique opportunities to create new value streams. Digitization of knowledge facilitates access to the information within an organization. All stakeholders will benefit from the new and better business digital transformation models. We have conducted a bibliometric analysis to identify relevant elements contributing to a successful digital transformation. We can identify four clusters related to the general groups of concepts that characterize the literature in this context. The cluster analysis results allow us to understand the relevant requirements of digital transformation and their relationships with knowledge management. Digital technologies drive resource optimization for more sustainable enterprises.

Bu çalışma, Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi'nde milletvekili adaylarının belirlenmesi sürecinde ortaya çıkan tahakküm ve meşruiyet ilişkileri üzerinedir. CHP'nin, 2007, 2011 ve 2015 seçimlerinde farklı aday belirleme yöntemleri kullanmasına rağmen, çoğunluğu parti profesyoneli olarak nitelendirilebilecek kişilerin sürekli seçildiği ve farklı yöntemlerin aday ve milletvekili kompozisyonunda radikal bir değişiklik yaratmadığı görülmektedir. Bu olgu, parti yayınları ve diğer kaynaklardan yararlanılarak toplanılan Türkiye geneli istatistiklere dayanarak oluşturulmuş olan çoklu mütekabiliyet analizi diyagramlarıyla ve Kırklareli'de yürütülen etnografik saha araştırmasının verileriyle ortaya koyulmaktadır. Örtülü tahakküm mekanizmalarını incelemek üzere Pierre Bourdieu'nün sembolik şiddet teorisi, Marksist "ideoloji" ve "hegemonya" kavramları ile klasik elit teorilerinin değerlendirmeleri ile karşılaştırılarak kullanılmaktadır. Çalışma, sembolik şiddet teorisinden, kavramsal alet kutusunun "ideoloji" ve "hegemonya" kavramlarından farklı bazı özgün açılımlar sağladığı düşüncesiyle faydalanmaktadır. Çalışma aynı zamanda klasik elit teorilerinin genelleyici, işlevsel, özcü varsayımlarından farklı olarak Bourdieu'nün pratik teorisinin tahakküm mekanizmalarını tarihsel ve ilişkisel temelleriyle değerlendirerek araştırma sorunsalını analiz etmeye olanak sağladığını göstermektedir. Bu çerçevede aday belirleme yöntemlerinden merkez yoklamasının "lider oligarşisi"nin, ön seçimlerin de "parti içi demokrasi"nin, göstergesi olduğu yolundaki kanıksanmış düşünceleri eleştirel bir değerlendirmeye tabi tutmaktadır. Her üç seçim döneminde de farklı seçici organlara rağmen (parti genel merkezi, üyeler ve delegeler) parti tarafından aday gösterilen ve milletvekili seçilen kişilerin aynı pozisyonları işgal eden kişiler olduğunu istatistiki ve etnografik verilerle ortaya koymaktadır. Böylelikle hem toplumsal teoriye hem de siyaset bilimi literatürüne milletvekili adaylarının belirlenmesi ve parti içi demokrasi tartışmaları bağlamında teorik ve metodolojik düzeyde katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır.

Mainstream gentrification research predominantly examines experiences and motivations of the middle-class gentrifier groups, while overlooking experiences of nongentrifying
groups including the impact of in situ local processes on gentrification itself. In this paper, I discuss gentrification, neighbourhood belonging and spatial distribution of class in Istanbul by examining patterns of belonging both of gentrifiers
and non-gentrifying groups in historic neighbourhoods of the Golden Horn/Halic. I use multiple correspondence analysis (MCA), a methodology rarely used in gentrification research, to explore social and symbolic borders between these two groups. I show how gentrification leads to spatial clustering by creating exclusionary practices and eroding social cohesion, and illuminate divisions that are inscribed into the physical
space of the neighbourhood.

In this paper we show apply text mining techniques, Correspondence Analysis and Fuzzy C-Means Clustering in order to identify associations among countries and titles of documents available at a profile in Academia.edu. All analysis was carried out by R software and several R scripts are presented.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to analyze the intersection of two literature streams: that of strategy and supply chain management (SCM). This review should create a better understanding of “strategic SCM” by focussing on relevant theories in the strategic management field and their intersection with SCM to develop a joint research agenda. Design/methodology/approach – The authors conducted a correspondence analysis on the content of 3,402 articles from the top SCM journals. This analysis provides a map of the intellectual structure of content in this field to date. The key trends and changes were identified in strategic SCM research from 1990-2014 as well as the intersection with the key schools of strategic management. Findings – The results suggest that SCM is key to a successful deployment of strategy for competing in the global marketplace. This article mobilizes Pierre Bourdieu's full theory-method to study how class shapes our news orientations in a digital, high-choice media environment. An online survey (N = 3 850) was used to create a statistical representation of the contemporary Swedish social space with variables measuring access to economic, cultural, social and cosmopolitan capital. A range of digital news preferences and practices were then given coordinates in that space. Results highlight the importance of class habitus for the formation of digital news repertoires. Since different groups form altogether different news repertoires – and distaste the preferences of the groups most different to themselves (in terms of access to capitals) – news practices and preferences solidify the positions of groups in the social structure. The study sheds light on the relationship between social and digital inequality, and challenges the psychological and individualistic bias in contemporary research on news media use.

In many countries, aquaculture development has been driven by technical solutions to the culture of high unit value (HUV) species. As rising production has met with falling prices, diversification into other HUV species has occurred and renewed the 'speciescycle’process. However, if aquaculture is to make its forecast contribution to offset declining capture supplies, some redirection may be needed to determine the substitute species and the product profile sought by consumers, and hence, the areas for genuine opportunity for growth. To this end, this paper employs Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) to analyse consumer acceptance of a cultured product. The MCA identifies patterns of association hidden by conventional techniques and may provide a methodology for identifying more relevant responses by the international aquaculture industry to the needs of the market. To illustrate the potential, the paper presents a case study of African catfish, Clarias gariepinus (Burchell 1822), using face-to-face consumer surveys incorporating samples of Clarias fillets in household meals. The MCA suggests that the Clarias product has attributes which are not uniquely orientated to any particular niche market, in contrast to most conventional HUV species. This may be advantageous, and for example, suggests that Clarias might be marketed as frozen blocks for further added value products and as a substitute for those demersal species which are less available internationally.

ABSTRACT Mine activity in Portugal had a huge impact on the growth of the regions where it took place, like in the Iberian Pyrite Belt. Nowadays, most of these mines are abandoned, as is the case for the Caveira mine. Soil geochemistry indicates that high contents of Cu, Pb, Zn, As, Cd, and Hg occur in the soils collected near the tailings. Multiple Correspondence Analysis identifies two areas with high concentrations of Pb, As, Hg, Sb, Mo, and Tl. However, the results suggest a different geochemistry for each of the areas. The non-site-specific methods (Hazard Index and GLC guidelines) classify all the areas as contaminated. Metal fractionation in the soil phases is different for the several elements studied. The articulation of the metal fractionation results with the GLC guidelines reduces the area of soil contaminated by Pb, but not by As.

This paper offers a comprehensive field analysis of the structure of British musical taste, drawing on the unusually detailed survey questions and qualitative interviews carried out as part of the Cultural Capital and Social Exclusion project in 2003–04. We argue that concepts of the cultural omnivore, whilst recognising the importance of fluid and hybrid musical taste, can better be conceptualised as forms of ‘expert’ taste by those occupying dominant positions in the musical field. Using multiple correspondence, and cluster, analysis the paper demonstrates subtle differences between ‘classic fans’ and ‘classic omnivores’ and between ‘pop-oriented’ and ‘pop-voracious’ clusters. We thus provide a way of understanding musical taste in ways that go beyond genre labels. The paper concludes by emphasising the need to recognise the continued importance of powerful, contested musical enthusiasms in contemporary cultural life.► Provides the most rigorous analysis of musical taste arising out of the CCSE project in the UK. ► Shows how MCA, and especially the cloud of individuals, can be used to cluster musical preferences. ► Shows how the concept of the cultural omnivore can be better replaced by that of the expert. ► Draws more attention to the expert's association with forms of contemporary cultural capital.

A great amount of effort has gone into studying correspondences between contemporary class structures and the distribution of lifestyles and media practices therein. Structural overlaps between these spaces imply the existence of a symbolic order, where dominant factions of society constitute taste keepers endowed with the power to stigmatize those below them in the social hierarchy. Yet, research has not come to terms with the reach and depth of this symbolic order. This study combines the Bourdieusian approach with recent developments in stigma research and the notion of felt stigma. Using multiple correspondence analysis on a survey with the adult Swedish population (n = 2003) findings align with previous research in that the social space is built around capital volume and capital composition, and that media practices connect to that structure. This symbolic order is not, however, internalized by people at lower social positions. Instead, it is people invested in culture and arts-a cultural middle-class-who are most likely to anticipate that others would look down on their practices and preferences.

Digital technology and transformation offer unique opportunities to create new value streams. The successful implementation of digital transformation depends mainly on knowledge management. A bibliometric analysis identifies relevant elements contributing to a successful digital transformation. We performed in Scopus the relevant research query for our study. This section looks at an approach that involves two different steps. First, we perform an exploratory bibliometric analysis of the data in the first step to identify the multiple correspondence analysis. Second, we use this analysis to map the relevant keywords extracted from the papers on a two-dimensional map. Third, cluster analysis shows that knowledge management, digitalization, and the new industrial revolution are vital components of digital transformation. In this way, we can highlight the crucial role of intellectual capital in digital transformation because higher intellectual capital means putting resources into work.
