Wearable real-time systems collecting and smartly analyzing information about patient health status could help medical personnel adopting the most suitable countermeasures in case of highly stressful situations in military and civil scenarios. Such situations include terrorist attacks or rescue operations. We propose the design and development of a patch-like device prototype (SmartPatch) and a methodology enabling continuous evaluation of victims' vital parameters. Using this innovative platform after the first triage, the onsite emergency teams will have continuous information about the health status of each person wearing the SmartPatch. If the health status of a victim is changed, SmartPatch is able to generate an alert and prevent overlook of critical health changes causing potential severe life-threatening consequences or death.

The main aim of this work was to compare network protocols used for management of active elements of the IP network and to assure QoS in data network. The bachelor work in detail describes especially SNMP protocol and possibilities of assuring quality of services in data networks. This works primary goal it to compare and analyze different versions of SNMP. The next aim of this work was to learn about structure and characteristics of the MIB database for DiffServ technology. This work studies definition of the MIB for the DiffServ technology and do the basic analyze of these MIB branches. Subsequently in programming language C/C++ create modules for creating queues. The type was First In First Out (FIFO), Priority Queuing (PQ) and Weighted Round Robin (WRR), which are used to sort packets in database DiffServ MIB. This modules are programmed with reference to his next usage in simulation environment Opnet Modeler

This paper is an outcome of the discussions that took place during January-August 2001 among the members of the Consortium Board of the Generations and Gender Programme (GGP). On several occasions, including the meeting of the Consortium Board held in Rome on 10-11 May 2001 and the meetings involving smaller groups of members of the Board and other staff of the institutions comprising the Consortium, proposals for GGP have been put forward, considered and amended. The results of those deliberations have been incorporated into this paper as well as further developed by the author. Strengths of the proposals contained in the paper derive from the collective efforts of the consortium board members as well as the written contributions to and discussions at the

This publication contains papers presented at the European Population Forum 2004, held in Geneva in January 2004, under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFP). The Forum discussed a range of issues organised under four key themes: global population and development trends from a European perspective; childbearing and parenting in low-fertility countries; morbidity, mortality and reproductive health challenges in transition economies; international migration and ways of promoting management and integration.

This two-volume set is based on the Fertility and Family Survey Flagship Conference, which took place in May 2000 in Brussels. The five themes of the conference were: partnership behavior, fertility behavior, partnership and fertility behaviors as interdependent processes, new approaches and methodological innovations in the study of these behaviors, and research and policy agenda for the future. The work includes papers presented at the five thematic sessions.

Nineteen-eighty-nine marked a beginning of the last episodes of what Hobsbawm calls “the Short Twentieth Century, that is to say of the years from the outbreak of the First World War to the collapse of the USSR...” Today, just ten years later, evidence abounds showing that the fall of the east European socialism during 1989-1991, arriving unexpectedly and occurring mostly peacefully ushered a new beginning for Europe, particularly central and eastern Europe. With the fall came down the barriers separating the two parts of the continent, a building of free-market democracies on the ruins of the centrally-planned one-party states and the hope that one day Europe will be one and whole again. In the meantime, eastern and western Europe – this is how we shall refer to the two parts for the sake of simplicity of expression – have grown closer to each other, however, becoming in certain respects increasingly distant. The renaissance under way in eastern Europe could not in a short time spa...
