Uno tra i libri di poesie più affascinanti e ancora misteriosi di Leopardi, i Versi del 1826, vie... more Uno tra i libri di poesie più affascinanti e ancora misteriosi di Leopardi, i Versi del 1826, viene attraversato con gli strumenti della filologia, testo dopo testo, e riportato alla sua dimensione storica, letteraria e poetica per cercare, con l’analisi minuta e puntuale delle singole varianti, così come con quella delle tematiche intertestuali, di ripercorrerne la storia e lo stile. Si sono raccolti intorno a un maestro come Luigi Blasucci, tornato sulla dinamica tra “sensibilità” e “disincanto” negli Idilli, in un’inedita, affascinante rilettura di quelle «avventure storiche», alcuni dei principali studiosi di Leopardi come Marco Antonio Bazzocchi, che per primo ha ripreso lo studio della geografia e storia dei Versi, e Franco D’Intino, che qui ha affrontato lo Spavento notturno in una nuova prospettiva critica, analitica e tematica, che irradia su tutti gli altri componimenti l’interpretazione dell’ultimo idillio come «evento archetipico della caduta e al tempo stesso il processo poetico di ricostituzione, attraverso la parola poetica, di quell’interezza che è andata distrutta». Nel solco di una tradizione filologico-linguistica e critico-interpretativa, non di rado aperta agli incroci e le contaminazioni con altre letterature e culture, i testi dei Versi sono stati puntualmente indagati da un gruppo di studiosi formatisi alla scuola di quei maestri, e usciti dalla fucina leopardiana della Sapienza dove, intorno al Laboratorio Leopardi, si è sviluppato il lavoro sul Lessico leopardiano da cui provengono alcuni dei giovani qui presenti. Altri collaboratori hanno messo a servizio di singole letture dei Versi la loro personale passione ed esperienza di lettori.

Privilegiando l’analisi semantica della parola «virtù» e della sua costellazione lessicale, gli studi si concentrano su importanti autori del panorama italiano ed europeo (Crescimbeni, Gravina, Muratori, Ramsay, Rousseau, Alfieri, Leopardi e Manzoni), attivi nell’arco temporale che dalla “crisi della coscienza europea” arriva fino al tournant des Lumières e alle prime fasi della nuova società capitalista. A partire dal dialogo con la grande tradizione morale, emerge un nucleo di questioni ricorrenti, variamente declinate: il ruolo della letteratura nel dibattito morale, la relazione individuo-società, il complesso legame tra virtù e amor proprio, la sventura della virtù nella modernità.

Cette Journée d’études propose de sonder le mot « vertu » en tant que lemme spécifique du retour ... more Cette Journée d’études propose de sonder le mot « vertu » en tant que lemme spécifique du retour à une dimension éthique de la littérature. Dans une perspective pluridisciplinaire et comparatiste, il s’agira de réfléchir à la fonction que les différentes acceptions de « vertu » (justice, patience, pitié, etc.) recouvrent dans les œuvres italiennes et européennes entre XVIIIe et XIXe s., tout en confrontant la fonction sémantique de la « vertu » à l’important héritage classique et chrétien. Les travaux de cette Journée s’inscriront dans l’approche méthodologique proposée par le Laboratorio Leopardi, qui considère le vocable comme un instrument révélateur du concept. La Journée souhaite ainsi enquérir d’une part la manière dont l’emploi moderne de ce mot s’écarte de celui classique, et d’autre part la re-sémantisation dont le mot « vertu » fait l’objet au XVIIIe s. et au « Tournant des Lumières ».
