The determination of an effective method able to estimate the parameters of a photovoltaic panel ... more The determination of an effective method able to estimate the parameters of a photovoltaic panel is essential for the development and the performance of analysis of such equipment. In this paper, we present a new simple and effective method in order to extract the parameters of the photovoltaic (PV) modules by using the standard diode model. This model requires the five parameters be known, the photocurrent Iph, the reverse saturation current Is, the resistance Rs, the shunt resistance Rsh, and the curve fitting parameter A (the ideality factor) or the thermal voltage a. In order to find the five parameters, we formulated an equation binding only the two loss parameters Rs and Rsh. In order to solve this equation and to determine the shunt resistance and the thermal voltage, we expose the computation models of the series resistance Rs, which give excellent approximations. While the other parameters Iph and Is depend exclusively on the parameters Rs, Rsh, a, and the short circuit cur...

The stereo-matching/stereo-correspondence process presents an essential role in stereo vision. Much research has been done on this process. However, the accuracy of stereo-matching/stereo-correspondence algorithms is affected by many characteristics related to the scene, such as the lack of discriminative image features, repetitive patterns, specular reflections, and regions of uniform texture. In this paper, we propose a pre-processing schema called brightness-based enhancement for disparity maps (2BEDM). 2BEDM is used to enhance the accuracy of local stereo-matching/stereo-correspondence algorithms (which are affected by the aforementioned characteristics related to the scene in stereo images) and to enhance the output-disparity map of stereo-matching/stereo-correspondence algorithms. It is based on the brightness of each pixel in the stereo images (left image and right image) rather than on the pixel itself. 2BEDM works on the basis of the hypothesis that the brightness of each block of stereo images of the same views is equal. The experimental results illustrate the enhancement provided by the proposed 2BEDM schema.

This method allows extracting the parameters of the single-diode model using only the information provided by the manufacturer's datasheet with a low-cost parameter determination technique and no complexity. The complete equation of the single- diode model of solar cells and panels is used, where the number of parameters to be calculated is reduced only to two parameters by a transcendental equation exclusively connecting the series resistance and the diode current, which is solved using the graphical method. The accuracy of the presented approach is justified by experimental data. In addition, the results of the proposed procedure are compared to the most recent proposed techniques in the literature. Furthermore, the results show a highly accurate; in particular, at the maximum power point, the error is still much less than 0.01%.

Accurate knowledge of the MPP for PV arrays is essential for the design and operation of grid-connected PV power systems under varied atmospheric conditions. The usual methods for tracking the MPP of PV arrays suffer from a serious problem that the MPP cannot be quickly acquired. Therefore, a simple and effective mathematical model to obtain the MP output in real time under all possible system conditions is indispensable to the development of a feasible PV generation system. We developed a new prediction model for directly estimating MPP for power tracking in PV arrays. The proposed model is a simple approach that takes the effect of solar cell resistances into consideration. The performance of the proposed model was evaluated at various temperatures and irradiation intensities.

The number of the PV modules and the capacity of the accumulators of storage to be installed are optimized so as to have the most economic generator with acquisition and the maintenance and which is capable to fill up the conditions of the contract. We expose into this paper, a model of energy supplied by the photovoltaic generator followed by the model of the provided average energy and a simplified method of sizing the PV system by introduction a production factor in order to determine the optimal surface of the PV collector to install, which answers the constraints imposed by the consumption profile of the load for a residential photovoltaic installation completely autonomous, while minimizing the cost. Finally for the numerical validation of the suggested method, we chose the data of the Tlemcen site.
