In this approach, this study contributes to this issue through the adaptation of the application of the test of the five big personality traits to the Algerian case. After discussing the different aspects of this test, the methodology used to develop standards is explained to elaborate norms of its adaptability to the Algerian case. The questionnaire is proposed to a panel of 927 individuals in five regions of Algeria and representing different social strata. According to our results, it is essential to revise certain statements so that they are applicable to the study of the Algerian personality. Keywords : Algerian, big five personality traits

The aim of this study was (a) to investigate the psychometric properties of the Love of Lofe Scale (LLS), (b) to estimate its associations with positive psychology variables, and (c) to compare its mean scores with previous studies. A sample of 777 undergraduates from Algeria was recruited. They responded to the LLS, the Arabic Scale of Happiness, the Arabic Schedule of Optimism and Pessimism, and the Satisfaction with Life Scale. These scales have good alpha reliability coefficients except for the Satisfaction Scale among females. Alpha and test-retest reliabilities of the LLS ranged between .74 and .93, indicating good internal consistency and acceptable stability. All the correlations between the LLS and the above-mentioned scales were statistically significant. A principal component analysis retained one high-loaded factor labeled “Love of life and optimism versus pessimism”. Sex-related difference in LLS was not significant. The mean LLS score of the Algerian students tended to be high. This result was congruent with the advanced order of Algeria in the World Happiness Report.

Confirmatory factor analyses (CFA) were done exploring seven-factor models and Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were calculated to rate reliability. The results showed that the one-factor model without EOT item and the two-factor model (DIF, DDF) provided acceptable fits and had significant advantages over the three-factor model (DIF, DDF, EOT). Based on the χ2 differences, the two-factor model has been preferred. Low alpha coefficients for the EOT and DDF subscale were reported (.55 and .66, respectively). Satisfactory Cronbach’s alpha coefficients for the AQC or AQC without the EOT items were also found, the values were .83 and .79, respectively. Alexithymia can be reliably assessed in adolescents using the AQC without the 8 items rating the EOT dimension.

Given the importance of comparing different groups in terms of perceptions of justice and justice... more Given the importance of comparing different groups in terms of perceptions of justice and justice effects, it is essential that the instrument used to measure perceptions behaves the same way across all groups. This study investigates the measurement invariance of the four-factor structure of organizational justice across nine Arab countries. Multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis is used with 2,914 employees working in the public sector to represent the variety of cultures among the Arab nations. We assess organizational justice using a measure developed by Alkhadher and Gadelrab primarily for Arab cultural perspectives of justice. This study

In addition, the study aims at verification of the psychometric properties of the AMOJ in Algeria. The study sample consisted of 1160 employees working in the public sector in Kuwait (n=728; 342 males and 296 females) and Algeria (n=432; 194 males and 238 females). Mean Age of the Kuwaiti subsample was 33.4 (sd=8.2) while mean age of the Algerian subsample was 36.3 (sd=9.5). The AMOJ was administered to both subsamples in fall 2015. Multiple-sample confirmatory factor analyses results have emphasized the existence of the four-factor structure in both Kuwaiti and Algerian samples. Items belong to each of the four factors were significantly loaded as expected to their expected factors. Moreover, the AMOJ factors showed acceptable values of internal consistency coefficients in both subsamples. Finally, results showed that the configural and metric measurement invariance are achieved, however the highest level of measurement invariance; scalar invariance did not achieved.

We adapted multiple items from the following tools: The Fear of COVID-19 Scale, Social Phobia Inventory, Health Anxiety Inventory, Swine Influenza Anxiety Scale and the Arabic Scale of Death Anxiety to design our new assessment tool which is called COVID-19 Psychological Distress Scale (CPDS). For psychometric analyses and validation, we conducted a cross-sectional study that solicited data through a web-based survey using the newly developed CPDS.Setting and participantsThis validation study was conducted in four Arab countries, including Algeria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. A total of 1337 participants from these countries have voluntarily responded to our survey questionnaire that included the newly developed scale.ResultsThe final version of the CPDS com...

Fit indices showed sufficient to optimal fit, and difference test values were not significant across the set of the increasingly constrained confirmatory factor models. According to these results, we conclude that comparisons could be made safely on the justice latent variable level across the nine Arab groups. Moreover, justice dimension intercorrelations were found to be moderate to high and independent of cultural groups.

A sample (N = 701) of college students from two universities in Algeria was recruited. They responded to the Arabic Scale of Happiness (ASH), the self – rating scales to assess physical health, mental health, happiness, and satisfaction with life, as well as religiosity. Results indicated that males obtained significantly higher mean scores on the ASH, the self – ratings of physical health, mental health, and happiness than did their female counterparts. All the Pearson correlations between the scales were statistically significant and positive. A single factor was retained separately in men and women and labeled "Well – being and religiosity". It was concluded that those who consider themselves as happy reported higher religiosity, particularly men.

Despite strong validity and predictive utility in North American and European samples, its validity in Non-Western cultures is still in need of verification. An Arabic version of the TAS-20 was given to a sample (n = 2221) of young adults from 3 Arabic-speaking countries (Algeria, Gaza and Oman), as well as English speaking young adults from Canada (n = 2220). Confirmatory factory analysis indicated good fit of the data from both samples, suggesting that the alexithymia construct can be extended to Arabic populations. The Arabic sample scored significantly higher on the total TAS-20 as well as all subscales and in total TAS-20 scores. This trend was consistent for both men and women and suggests important cultural differences exist in the communication of emotional information.
