In the last years, much work have been done in the development of techniques for automated negotiation, and, particularly, in the automated negotiation of SLAs. However, there is no work that describes how to develop advanced software systems that are able to negotiate automatically in an open environment such as the Internet. In this work, we develop a conceptual framework for automated negotiations of SLAs that serves as a starting point by identifying the elements that must be supported in those software systems ...

In this context, SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are essential because they grant guarantees about how a service must be provided or consumed. We define service trading as the process of locating, selecting, negotiating, and creating SLAs. Although automating the service trading process is a key characteristic of a real-time enterprise, to the best of our knowledge it has not been completely addressed yet. In this ...

Its formal semantics have allowed the automation of analysis operations in several phases of the business process lifecycle. RAL was designed considering a specific organisational metamodel and pursuing specific purposes. However, it can be extended to deal with similar problems in different domains and under different circumstances. In this paper, a methodol-ogy to extend RAL is introduced, and an extension to support another organisational metamodel is described as a proof-of-concept.
