Against the background of the aforementioned effects of globalization, the Republic of Moldova is experiencing a deep crisis of civic identity, one of the reasons for which is that ethnic minorities are exposed to numerous external influences and, as a result, are more prone building their identity within their own or kindred ethnic groups. The research argues that the current political and economic situation in the EU zone appears as a complex interdependence, which has also become attractive for the EU Neighborhood, especially for the Eastern Partnership. Furthermore, the European Union security experts talk more and more in light of the Kantian and Wilsonian ideas – cooperative security. In fact, the imaginary European complex interdependence has been also accompanied by cooperative security and defense commitments. Meanwhile, this research argues that the emerging European cooperative security and defense system has been evolving smoothly also due to strong collective defense guarantees during the last 60 years – the NATO factor. The European states, being in inevitable-long cooperation in the EU and NATO, have achieved a sense of common political-sec...

On the basis of case study research at company and union confederation level, it unveils employers and state behaviour and trade union’s responses. Research on industrial relations in post-socialist countries has highlighted how FDI fosters modernisation and economic integration but not ‘europeanisation’ of IR. This research identifies employers’ and state opposition to independent unions and continuity with soviet paternalist practices as main causes. It concludes that modernisation by FDI can break up paternalism but only strong internationalised unions can face these challenges.

Contrary to the popular stereotypes about the emergence of the first practices of this policy during the period of ancient Chinese and ancient Greek civilizations, the article provides a reasoned justification for the earlier origin, formation and dynamic development of the practice of political and legal regulation of family and demographic processes. The authors pay special attention to the terminological foundations and the specifics of the interpretation of key concepts in the context of the subject field of the article. Using a wide range of sources, including historical evidence, works of art, statements of ancient authors (poets and historians), teachings, treatises, codes of laws, etc., the article concludes that the normative regulators of marriages, divorces and reproductive behavior were fully forme...

As with other campaigns in the post-Soviet region, parties from all sides of the political spectrum participated in the use of various forms of character attacks as an attempt to dissuade voters from voting for their opponents. These attacks were applied via all of the traditional means of attack: Speeches, social media, public advertisements and innuendo. The relative effectiveness of these attacks remains to be quantified; however, research indicates that some elements of attack remain consistently present across all three countries’ elections.
