They examined how micro-enterprises in Ghana were able to leverage and combine a range of low-cost or free digital technology – such as WhatsApp, Instagram and mobile money – to reimagine their business while managing their resource constraints. They interviewed 47 participants across 34 micro-enterprises, government agencies and technology firms. They also drew upon key reports and data from national and international bodies. Also, the study was driven by the need to improve e-business usage and digital financial inclusion of the MSMEs of the COMESA region. The study aimed to develop and test a framework that augmented digital financial inclusion through e-business usage among MSMEs. The specific objectives were to examine the dynamic trend of e-business adoption among MSMEs of the region, to analyze the factors affecting their adoption of e-business, and to examine the impact of e-business adoption on digital financial inclusion among them. This century is characterized by great innovations in technology. However, not everybody is connected. Gaps persist between individuals when accessing and using various digital technologies. Vulnerable people are more affected. The study aimed at discovering also factors that influence digital inclusion for the vulnerable people in the economies some countries in Africa.

Secondary objectives were developed using psychological capital constructs namely hope, self-efficacy and resilience. The study adopted a quantitative approach backed by positivist philosophy. A sample of 350 respondents was determined using the Yamane’s model. Stratified random sampling was adopted and data was collected using a structured questionnaire. The results of the study indicate that psychological capital has a significant effect on employee engagement. The study recommends that employee behavioral workshops, mentorship, ethical leadership and coaching programmes directed at developing psychological capital in SMEs.

The dimensions of the dining experiences investigated were the atmospherics experience, the food experience, and the service experience; these were also informed by the literature. Data was collected in a systematic survey using a structured questionnaire. The study targeted university students and a sample of 150 was analysed. Data was analysed using the one-way MANOVA. The results indicated that there were no statistically significant gender differences along all dimensions of dining experiences. The conclusions made are that males and females do not respond differently to marketing stimuli in the cafeteria industry, and therefore there is no viable market segmentation on the basis of gender. It was recommended that if any need for market segmentation of the cafeteria market exis...

The purpose of the study was to determine the impact of perceived e-learning service quality on student satisfaction in Zimbabwean public universities. The study adopted the causal research design embedded in the positivism research philosophy. Four e-learning public universities were selected for data collection using a stratified sampling method. Findings from 321 valid responses through multiple regression analysis revealed positive relationships between e-learning quality factors (system quality, information quality and support service quality) and student satisfaction (p<0.05). The study validated the DeLone and McLean (2003) model to emphasise the significance of system quality, information quality and support service quality as the key antecedents of student satisfaction. Universities were urged to ensure robustness in their e-learning systems as well as regularly assessing student perceptions of their services as a way to facilitate the design of a customer centric service.

Traditional procurement strategies are becoming increasingly redundant because of the volatility of the global business environment. The market has thus called for increased agility to conquer the VUCA nature of the supply chain environment. Objectives: The study sought to examine the role that e-procurement plays in augmenting the agility of supply chains. The four determinants of e-procurement, that is, e-design, e-sourcing, e-evaluation and e-negotiation, were linked directly with supply chain agility.Method: A census approach was taken to gather data from 219 supply chain and procurement employees of Zimbabwe’s telecommunications and technology industry. A self-administered survey questionnaire was used based on a scientifically developed and validated supply chain...

Self-administered survey was used to draw responses from 100 SMEs in Manicaland Province, Zimbabwe. To facilitate the analysis of the data, given the moderation effect that sought to be tested, both IBM SPSS Statistics v26 and the Hayes Process Macro for SPSS were used. The moderation effect was validated through general linear factorial MANOVA. The study provided evidence on the significance of education in moderating the relationship between religiosity and cost and management practices (CMAPS). However, two demographic variables (age and gender) and three firm characteristics (revenue, number of employees and years in business) were not statistically signif...

More importantly, the study sought to determine the moderating effects of demographic variables (age, gender and level of education) on the association between food quality and customer loyalty intentions. The study was informed by the theory of customer loyalty. To substantiate the model of the study, a sample of 200 respondents was drawn from selected restaurants using a structured questionnaire. The main effects between food quality and customer loyalty intention were tested using inferential statistics whereas moderated effects of demographics (age, gender and level of education) were computed using moderated multiple regressions. All the hypothesised moderators were supported with significant interaction effects. The results suggest that the nexus between food quality and customer loyalty intention is not a straight forward relationship....

A positivist approach was employed backed by quantitative analysis to determine the impact of education on intention to formalise informal businesses. The study analysed a sample of 265 informal traders and a structured questionnaire was used to gather data. Collected data was analysed using parameters such as regression analysis and Pearson correlation analysis. The results indicate that the general level of education is not among enablers of formalisation. However entrepreneurial knowledge, entrepreneurial skills and entrepreneurial attitude were found to be positively correlated with intention to formalise businesses. The study recommends that more focus should be on entrepreneurial education rather than convectional education system so as to enable transition from informal to formal economy. The study therefore brings a new perspective on formalisation of t...

The study was driven by the need to promote blockchain technology in a bid to enhance financial sanity through elimination of financial delinquency. Research methodology: The study followed a quantitative paradigm using an explanatory research design. The study targeted financial executives, senior staff members at the Zimbabwe stock exchange, bankers and officials from the financial regulators. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire. Results: The study found out that of the four independent BCDLT antecedents, manual audit costs were insignificant, whereas the other three had strong positive associations with financial crime reduction. Limitations: The study targeted a specific group of financiers; hence the results may not be universal to other excluded categories Contribution: The study significantly guides policy formulation and laws in line with the adoption of the blockchain technology in the global financial system to guard against the possibility of new forms of financial crimes that could emanate from the use of technology. Keywords: 1. Blockchain digital ledger technology 2. Financial crime 3. Financial performance

Social media became a convenient channel of communication. However, social media was awash with false and alarming information about the pandemic and government initiatives. This led to infodemic as consumers accessed misrepresented information on social media. As a result of social media infodemic, some consumers engaged in panic banking through withdrawal rush due to uncertain future expectation. This study aimed to examine the effect of social media infodemic during the Covid-19 pandemic on consumers’ panic intention behaviour in the banking industry. Data for the study was collected from 230 consumers of the baking industry in Oman using a questionnaire. A social media infodemic model was developed using a deductive approach. The study found out that social media infodemic was responsible for panic banking intention behaviour in Oman. The four determinants...
