Flax are resource nodes found scattered throughout the Heart of Maguuma, the Crystal Desert, and Cantha. One can be added to home instances by using a Flaxseed Harvesting Node.

There are 8 nodes to be found: 5 on the island just over the waypoint (3 are on top of the island, 2 more are on a lower ledge with a bouncing mushroom), 2 are on a floating island to the northwest and 1 is on the highest island to the west (with the diving goggles).
