Dear Prof. Justin Paul, With reference to your application dated January 30, 2019, I am very happy to offer you the position of Distinguished Visiting Scholar for a period of 1 month at Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode as per the terms and conditions indicated below: 1. Your role as Distinguished Visiting Scholar shall consist of the following: a) To carry out state-of-art research in your field of expertise, in partnership with one or more faculty members at IIM Kozhikode b) To present seminars on research activities carried out at our Institute c) To present seminars on other topics of mutual interest on voluntary basis d) To contribute to teaching activities at IIM Kozhikode in Post Graduate Programme (PGP), Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP), Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and Management Development Programmes (MDPs) on voluntary basis 2. During the period of your stay at LIM Kozhikode as Distinguished Visiting Scholar, you may primarily collaborate with Prof. Anandakuttan B. Unnithan and Prof. Deepa Sethi on the research project proposals indicated in your application. 3. The financial terms of this offer are as under: a) You will be paid a monthly Fellowship of INR 1,40,400/- b) Return economy class airfare from parent academic institution to Kozhikode (by shortest route) and local travel expenses in reaching IIM Kozhikode at the time of joining and also at the time of return to the parent institution will be reimbursed to you subject to production of proof of purchase of air tickets. c) Suitable rent free accommodation and office space in the campus will be provided to you during your stay. d) You will be eligible for leave at the rate of 3 days per month, to be made available at the beginning of the Fellowship. -However, there can be no payout of the unused leave. Unutilized leave shall lapse at the end of the period of fellowship. Either of the parties shall be at liberty to terminate the contract during the period of visit, provided all academic commitments/teaching assignments, if any, are completed before expiry of the notice period. 5. You shall be expected to be at IIM Kozhikode and work at the Institute for a minimum period of 4 weeks. We request you to plan your visit accordingly. It would be desirable for you to take adequate medical insurance coverage from your home country as medical expenses shall not be borne by IIM Kozhikode. 6. It is your responsibility to obtain the necessary approvals from Immigration and other relevant authorities. If you are in agreement with the terms outlined above, I would appreciate your confirming the same latest by April 20, 2019 indicating the firm date of your arrival at IIM Kozhikode and also the period of your stay here.
