Inovasi pendidikan adalah proses pengembangan, pengenalan, dan penerapan ide, metode, praktik, atau teknologi baru ke dalam sistem pendidikan dengan tujuan meningkatkan kualitas dan efektivitas pembelajaran dan hasil belajar siswa. Inovasi ini berpotensi berdampak pada banyak aspek pendidikan, termasuk kurikulum, pedagogi, teknologi pendidikan, manajemen sekolah, dan pengembangan profesional guru.

Innovation is defined as renewal dealing with a change or an improvement. A change is shifting of position or situation that enables to lead to significant improvement. Practically curriculum is changed because of some factors, forexample science and technological development. There is a possibility that the advantages on pre-determined or pre-expected of curriculum change can be wrong. A curriculum change in a very short period in certain case is supposed as a failure, however it is also believed as an efford to achieve improvement. A curriculum renewal involves some components or some factors. A curriculum change cannot be successful without being equipped by those supported components system. A change that is partial in nature automatically wastes energy, time, fund, and also power. Moreover, a curriculum change which is focused more on a curriculum itself and it ignores other aspects; such as teacher/lecturer, student, method, media fund, etc will be potential to be fail. That is why it needs a serious consideration and plausible reasons with a total eagerness and involvement of components of educational system, so it can enhance students’ competencies. Implementasi Kurikulum PAI Terpadu dengan Kurikulum Pondok Pesantren untuk Meningkatkan Prestasi Belajar SiswaThe problem behind this research is that there is a separation between schools that are general and schools that have more religious lessons, from the findings in the field of implementing the Integrated Islamic Education curriculum with Islamic boarding schools to improve student achievement. Di dalam proses pengendalian mutu pendidikan, kurikulum merupakan perangkat yang sangat penting karena menjadi dasar untuk menjamin kompetensi keluaran dari proses pendidikan. Kurikulum harus selalu diubah secara periodik untuk menyesuaikan dengan dinamika kebutuhan pengguna dari waktu ke waktu. Prinsip-Prinsip Inovasi dan Pengembangan Kurikulum PAIPendidikan merupakan hal pokok yang sangat penting pendidikan merupakan cara yang sangat penting dalam membuat kemajuan di segala bidang kehidupan kurikulum berperan dalam memilih dan mengevaluasi apa yang dianggap berguna bagi kehidupan siswa Adanya ketidaksesuaian lain antara nilai-nilai yang terdapat didalam prinsip-prinsip pengembangan kurikulum dengan kehidupan di mana kurikulum itu dijalankan. Kurikulum seharusya bisa menjawab dari setiap tantangan sejalan dengan kebutuhan dan masyarakat perkembangan yang berubah dengan cepat Kurikulum dalam pengembangannya bukanlah proses cepat tetapi butuh studi intensif. Sumber referensi pengembangan kurikulum minimal harus didasarkan dari data eksperimental dan empiris.
Pada umumnya keberagamaan seseorang dipengaruhi oleh pendidikan, pengalaman, dan latihan-latihan yang dilaluinya pada masa kecilnya. Seseorang yang pada masa kecilnya tidak mendapatkan pendidikan agama, akan berpengaruh pada masa dewasanya. Boleh jadi ia tidak akan merasakan pentingnya agama dalam hidupnya, akan lain halnya dengan orang yang pada masa kecilnya berada di lingkungan taat beragama. Maka dengan sendirinya orang tersebut akan mempunyai kecenderungan kepada hidup dalam aturan beragama, terbiasa menjalankan ibadah, takut melangkahi larangan-larangan agama, dan dapat merasakan betapa nikmatnya hidup beragama. Bagi siswa, dengan adanya kurikulum akan menjadi pendorong berkembangnya potensi mereka baik potensi kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotoriknya, karena adanya kurikulum siswa akan mendapat seperangkat pengetahuandan pengalaman belajar yang kelak di kemudian hari akan dapat dikembangkan seiring dengan irama perkembangan intelektual, emosional, spiritual,dan sosialnya yang akan sangat berguna dalam hidupnya. 1 Kata " kurikulum " berasal dari bahasa yunani yang semula digunakan dalam bidang olahraga, yaitu currere yang berarti jarak tempuh lari, yakni jarak yang harus ditempuh dalam kegiatan berlari mulai dari start hingga finish. Pengertian ini kemudian diterapkan dalam bidang pendidikan. Dalam bahasa arab, istilah " kurikulum " diartikan dengan Manhaj, yakni jalan yang terang, atau jalan terang yang dilalui oleh manusia pada bidang kehidupanya. Upaya Kepala Sekolah dalam Meningkatkan Kompetensi Guru PAIThe demand of the quality of educational system is increasing along with the development of Indonesian social condition. It cannot be separated with the figure of teacher as the educator. The high demand itself has strong impacts toward some actions taken by the headmaster of SMK Kesehatan Bakti Indonesia Medika Ngawi in order to upgrade the teacher's professionalisms. This study uses data collection method as follows: a) deep interview, b) participants observation, and c) documents analysis. Then the collected data through these three methodologies are organized, interpreted, and analyzed deeper to arrange concept and abstraction of the finding result. In the case of the headmaster's leadership efforts in the managerial aspects to increase the professionalism of the teachers, the writer found some plans of action done by the headmasters for example: conducting workshop and supervision programs, optimizing teachers' discussion forums (MGMP), and organizing family recreation for fun. For the realization, those plan of action are successfully conducted. The conclusions of the study are: a) examined from the academic qualification, the level of teacher professionalisms in SMK Kesehatan Bakti Indonesia Medika Ngawi are less appropriate since there are still 3.08% of teachers have diploma degree. b) From the class implementation according to the headmaster's supervisions there are some teachers that do not apply the standard sets of teaching equipments in their class implementations. More specific, the teachers do not really care about the student's preparation of learning process; sometimes they do not give some apperception in the beginning of class, the teaching method that are still monotone, they have not apply the teaching media yet, and there are no reflection and follow up toward these conditions.

This article resulted from an invitation of the PMLA editors to discuss the "particular cultural and political circumstances in which I write" for their special issue no. 3 (2004) on SF, with a contribution of limited size. I therefore chose to contribute a personal retrospective of how those circumstances determined what I wrote. Its first part is devoted to epistemology or, more simply, knowledge (cognition, understanding)-a truly Williamsian "keyword" in all my endeavours, as it ought to be for all intellectuals: since we are either bearers of humanised knowledge or killing drones for capitalist warfare. The presuppositions of knowledge, that is, a formal detour through epistemology, seemed to me indispensable and imperative. A conclusion was that epistemology intertwines with politics (theory and practice) as a double helix. From this flowed, with much help from Brecht, Marx, and utopian/dystopian fiction (from London though Zamyatin to Le Guin, Dick, Mitchison, Piercy, and K.S. Robinson) 1 , my investigations into the role of us intellectuals of the Nineties and early Oughts referred to in this article. As one of the favourite poets of my student days, Jules Laforgue, presciently wrote in his "Complaint of the Wise Man from Paris": Mais comme Brénnus avec son épée, et d'avance, Suis-je pas dans un des plateaux de la balance?
