— As business become increasingly dependent on Information Technology for their operations, project managers find themselves under pressure to remain innovative and go forward to deliver quality projects, on time and within budget constraints. However, some organizations still find it hard to plan and track project components, stakeholders and resources. Additionally, project managers, team members and customers do not communicate frequently to share their expert opinions. Projects tend to extend beyond scheduled deadlines, not necessarily due to lack of resources or incompetence of projects members, but often because of inability to elicit requirements completely and inadequacy of proper communication. To this end, with the advent of Information Technology, there has been an increase in the demand for software that make jobs easier for people, as a result, to keep up with rising demand, project managers need a way to effectively manage their software projects. Using the iterative methodology, a web based software project management system was developed, that fully monitors project progress, allocates tasks, creates milestones and provides an avenue for stakeholders to track project progress during its development phase. The developed system solves the problem of unity and lack of communication. With the system, once added to a new project, all participating members may send messages to one another and keep tabs on the progress of the project so as to implement the stakeholder's requirements efficiently.

Software Project Management Systems Using Kanban Method in the CV. Primavisi GlobalindoReducing the risk of failure in working on software projects is one of the successes for the company. It can be done by implementing project planning management properly. One important aspect of project management planning is scheduling. Scheduling includes recording human resources and tasks in the project. The Kanban method is one of the methods used to overcome problems in controlling project schedules. This study aims to develop a project scheduling system that applies the Kanban method. In this research, project management and scheduling system will be developed using the Kanban method. This system expected to be able to assist companies in handling projects. Kanban was chosen because it can easily respond to project changes, easily implemented, and company needs. In this study, unit testing was performed on the system's three main features and tested the validity of the system's 49 functional requirements. The usability test produces a value of 76. Based on the validat...

Last century recorded fundamental changes in the way organizations work and this was driven by the desire to optimize performance and profitability. New information technology enables the ability to facilitate this revolution because it provides solution to one of the key business barriers, such as detailed information planning, organizing and controlling of allocated resources to accomplish project cost and time. Project management (PM) is the systematic planning, organizing, controlling, co-ordinating and directing allocated resources to accomplish project cost and time. The project management process starts with the project approval. It consists of sub-processes of project start, co-ordination, controlling, discontinuity, management and close down. Projecting from this work, discoveries are targeted at the following understandings concerning; what is project management(PM), traditional methods of PM, types of PM, problems associated with PM, the benefits of using modern PM, techn...

Practical Application of Contemporary Project Management Software2020 •
The realization of modern business, activities and projects poses increasing demands and challenges to project managers. Therefore, modern project management practices are inconceivable without the help of project management software. This paper describes and compares the most commonly used project management software with emphasis on the need for careful selection based on the required software features and other criteria such as software price, necessary implementation time and education of future users and an example of Microsoft Project application in project planning.
Abstract: Project management is the art of matching a project’s goals, tasks, and resources to accomplish a goal as needed. We say “as needed” because one has limited time, money, and resources (human and machinery) with which to accomplish a goal. One can think of a project as a process. Preliminary investigation examines project feasibility. A feasibility study is the analysis of a problem to determine if it can be solved effectively. The results determine whether the solution should be implemented or not. Planning provides a road map for the software development process. It is probably the most time-consuming project management Activity. It is a continuous activity from initial concept through to system delivery. Plans must be regularly revised as new information becomes available. Schedule is a vital project management attribute in a market driven economy where time to market is critical to success. It takes an important role in the project planning activity. Individual projects are likely to differ considerably but following some classic project life cycle models. And the planning is pointless unless the execution of plan is monitored. Utilization of project management methods in practice in more extensive projects is, due to high demands, only possible with support of a Project Management Information System. Project managers can use a number of applications offering a wide range of functions in the areas of project planning, monitoring and continuous evaluation of project implementation, and final evaluation when it has finished. An important function offered by a Project Management Information System is the possibility of sharing data concerning the running projects across the project team and their surroundings. Project Management Information System applications are primarily designed to support project management, so it is worth considering how much the available applications support the project management methods defined in the project management theory, how much software applications make it possible to get support in individual stages of the project life cycle, and if this scope is sufficient from the point of view of quality project management. The evaluation involved selected project management methods suitable for individual project life cycle stages, and the scope of support of individual project management methods within the respective project life cycle stages was evaluated in selected software applications.

By using effective project management techniques a project manager can improve the chances of success in software development. Problem is how to analytically combine these techniques into a practical and best effective workable process? For effective solution one need a balanced process that covers the management and development of the entire project from inception to completion. A Project Scheduling Problem consists in deciding who does what during the software project lifetime. This is a capitalissue in the practice of software engineering, since the total budget and human resources involved must be managed optimally in order to end in a successful project. In this work we tackle the problem by using working flow management system (WFMS) to solve many different software project scenarios. Our conclusions show that GAs are quite flexible and accurate for this application, and an important tool for automatic projectmanagement. This paper presents proposed software for project management during project life cycle in organization by studying various project management methodologies. Also the role and critical activities of project manager, project team and hence project management is explored in software projects implementation in organization of different sizes and culture.
Matroid Theory
Matroid Theory1966 •
These are the lecture notes for a short course presented at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, in March of 1966. The first two thirds of these notes give an introduction to the theory of matroids and is based on two fundamental papers of the subject: [2], On the abstract properties of linear dependence; and [1], Lectures on Matroids. In the last third of these notes, matroid theory is applied to the theory of graphs. Most of the results obtained here were originally worked out by H. Whitney in a series of papers preceding [2]. In fact it is evident that the work that went into these papers led to and finally culminated in his matroid papers. [1] W. T. Tutte, (1965). Lectures on Matroids, J. Res. Nat. Bur. Stand. 69B, 1–48. This research paper evaluates the past, present, and future of economic modeling from both qualitative and quantitive perspectives. We do this through an extensive review of papers published in the Journal of Economic Modeling (JEM) between 1979 and 2017. We find that at different time periods, the economic modeling research literature focused on different aspects. These include a wide range of research topics, research approaches, techniques, theories, methods, and analytical tools applied in the study of national and international issues. All of these dimensions are relevant for the rigorous analysis of complex and dynamic economic phenomena.
