RESUMEN En este artículo expondremos las líneas principales del realismo jurídico como una de las respuestas más interesantes que se han brindado a la pregunta “¿qué es el Derecho?” Estudiaremos su relación con el realismo filosófico, así como sus tres ramas principales, el realismo alemán, el realismo norteamericano y el realismo escandinavo. ABSTRACT In this article, we will put forward the main guidelines of legal realism as one of the most interesting responses given to the question: What is Law? We will look into the relation between legal realism and philosophical realism, and its three main trends: German legal realism, American legal realism and Scandinavian legal realism.

This article is an exercise in legal realism. However, the author will not even try to present a comprehensive picture of legal realism. He shall confine himself to arguing, in a straightforward way, in favor of seven purely realistic theses.
