Abstact-Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) refers to the 5G Visible Light Communication systems using light-emitting diodes as a medium for high-speed communication in a similar manner as Wi-Fi. [5] As now a days where internet has become a major demand, people are in a search for Wi-Fi hotspots for their activities. Li-Fi is a better alternative to Wi-Fi in wireless communication as it is [1] bidirectional, high speed and fully networked wireless communications similar to Wi-Fi. It is a subset of visible light communication(VLC) and can be a complement to RF communication , or a replacement in contexts of data broadcasting. This paper proposes a survey on Li-Fi Technology. Li-Fi has more capacity in terms of bandwidth in visible region therefore it does not interfere in other communications which uses radio frequency range, without taking its frequency bands. It has thousand times greater speed than Wi-Fi.Such technology has brought not only greener but safer and cheaper future of communication.

Li-Fi the Next Generation of Wireless Communication through Visible Light Communication (VLC) Technology2019 •
Li-Fi stands for Light-Fidelity. This technology is very new and was proposed by the German physicist Harald Haas in 2011. Light based communication system is the backbone of the future of the communication system. Li-Fi is a wireless technology that uses light emitting diodes (LEDs) for transmission of data. The development of the wireless communication leads to advance research in LiFi technology. The term Li-Fi states to visible light communication (VLC) technology that uses as medium to deliver high-speed communication in a fashion similar to Wi-Fi. Li-Fi comprises a wide range of frequencies and wavelengths, from the Infrared through visible and down to the Ultraviolet spectrum. The immense use of Li-Fi may solve some bottleneck of data transmission in Wi-Fi technology. With the innovation in technology and the number of users, the existing radio-wave spectrum fails to accommodate this need. To resolve the issues of scalability, availability and security, we have come up with the concept of transmitting data wirelessly through light using visible light communication (VLC) technology. This paper objective is to study and describe the LiFi technology. The improvement of the wireless communication leads to advance research in LiFi technology through Visible Light Communications (VLC) Technology.
The rate of increase in use mobile communication is very high. The established RF cellular system is fully used and bandwidth reuse has been started to deal with increasing user demand. But, this reuse is decreasing the network throughput and gap between user demands and network capability is increasing continuously. The Visible Light Communication (VLC) is the best solution for this scenario. It uses visible light region of electromagnetic spectrum, which is 10000 times broader than RF region. Implementation of VLC is similar to RF communication system. Like Wi-Fi VLC has Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) which uses light as carrier. The problems faced in RF system like bandwidth, availability, health, security can be overcome with VLC. The VLC works by modulating the intensity of light from LED array which is detected by photo detector (PD) and then demodulated to electronic signal. This paper gives an extensive overview of working, applications and challenges for VLC and Li-Fi.

— At the time of using wireless internet at any place whether it is own or stealing from others, one has probably gotten frustrated because of the slow speed of internet when more devices are connected to a single router. Due to increasing of internet users exponentially, Radio Spectrum is congested but the demand for wireless data double each year. Dr. Harald Haas has come up with a solution for those he calls “Data through illumination”. LI-FI is a new epoch of high intensity light source of solid state design which bring clean lighting solutions to general and specialty lighting. LI-FI is now part of the VLC as is implemented using white LED light bulbs. Data transmission takes place from this LED bulb by varying the current at extremely high speeds which undetectable by the human eye.

Visible Light Communication for Data and Audio Transmission using Light -Fidility (Li-Fi)LiFi is a wireless optical networking technology that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for data transmission. LiFi is designed to use LED light bulbs similar to those currently in use in many energy-conscious homes and offices. LiFi data is transmitted by the LED bulbs and received by photoreceptors. Li-Fi technology transmits data at very high speed and is capable of delivering 224GB of data per second. Furthermore, it offers better security as compared to Wi-Fi. Due to its high speed, Li-Fi technology can be widely used in electromagnetic sensitive areas, such as, hospitals, airplanes, and nuclear power plants. Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) is a data transfer technique that uses light. Light is analogous not only to illumination but also to speed. Li-Fi is also much secured since light cannot pass through walls. It uses visible light portion of the electromagnetic spectrum to transmit information. Hence the visible light communication solves the problem of radio frequency congestion. In this project we transmit data and audio through light at very high data rates without use of microcontrollers and its other peripheral devices.
Li-Fi is a new wireless technology to provide the connectivity with in localized network environment .As in practical term whether you’re using wireless internet in a coffee shop ,stealing it from the guy next door, or competing for bandwidth at a conference you may get frustrated at the slow internet speed you face when more than two device is tapped into a network. Now a days with the advent of technology,, communication became the backbone of ICT. ICT had made our globe like a town. Today everyone (Business , institutions ,organizations ,entrepreneurs )is thrust for getting right information at the right time and right place .Which, requires fast internet connectivity, Technology and large spectrum of channels. Present paper reflects the Future of Communication (LIFI) which may affect all lives. One German physicist , DR. Harald Hass , has come up with a solution he calls “ Data through illumination” taking the fiber out of a fiber optics by sending data through an LED light bulb that varies in intensity faster than the human eye can follow .DR. HASS says these invention, which he calls D-Light, can transfer data more than 500MBPS (30GBPS per minute) an alternative, cost effective and more robust and useful than Wi-Fi. The Visible light communication which may be the future of Internet.
