Classification of Archaeological Sites2024 •
This entry discusses the concept of classification of archaeological sites, a methodological issue that has been represented very poorly in the scientific literature. It is proposed herein to divide the entire array of archaeological sites into two fundamental classes: profane and sacral. The former is subdivided into four main categories: settlement, industrial, infrastructural sites and places of random or haphazard deposition. In turn, sacral sites are divided into burial and ritual sites, ritual imagery, stelae and sculptures, and votive deposits. In each of these categories, the most important and frequently encountered types of archaeological sites are described. In addition, this entry addresses the formation of archaeological sites and features, including the processes of archaeologization of the traces of past human activity.

Group Practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi Program in Australia: Implications for Social WorkFor many years it has been predicted that group practice of Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi program alleviates social stress and that this phenomenon is measurable using specific social indicators. This study examines this prediction in two parts: Part I: To test the prediction in an Australian context; and Part II: To relate the significance of the outcomes of Part I to future directions of social work for the reduction of disorder and suffering in society. The test period in Part I was January 1983 when the size of a group of participants in Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi program, including Yogic Flying, reached the √1% of the population of Australia. Using a Box-Jenkins (ARIMA) time-series analysis, it found there was a significant improvement in the quality of national life in Australia as measured by reduced fatal traffic accidents, reduced unemployment, and an increased value of the main Australian stock market index. The results can be summarised as follows: a) Highly significant decreases (14.0%) in fatal traffic accidents, p = 0.0005; b) Highly significant decreases (8.3%) in unemployment, p = 0.0005; and Significant increases in the Sydney-Melbourne All Ordinaries Stock Exchange Index, p = 0.025.

Why is the sky blue? A new question for political science2024 •
The future of political science in this crucial century requires that it (i) adopt the contemporary scientific paradigm, (ii) open itself to pluri-, inter- and transdisciplinarity, and (iii) redefine the main political actor, ourselves, in light of post-anthropocentric and relational turns. A theoretical revolution to a post-normal and eco-political science is needed and, through the influence of new fields such as sustainability science, is probably already in motion. In the Anthropocene, it implies paying attention to biological links that once seemed extemporaneous. And this is when we realize that the sky has become co-vulnerable. We may actually be at risk of losing blue sky through anthropogenic actions, including global warming or solar geoengineering. Politics will be crucial in determining whether or not to preserve its blue, and everything that goes with it. The article explores, through the answer to the blue question, this new super-wicked problem to illustrate the stated objectives for political science and the need to apply them. The proposals that have emerged from this also provide a new framework for Clean Air strategies for blue skies that are being developed at international and national levels.

Die Forschung zu gepidischen Siedlungen in Ungarn – Spätantike Kontinuitätsmodelle im Kerngebiet des Hunnenreiches2019 •
The transformation of the settlement pattern of the 5th century in the Hungarian Plain could not be directly linked to historical events and may be reconstructed as a mosaic-like, longer process. Large-scale Gepidic period settlements are known nowadays from different regions, which could form an adequate basis towards a regional research and pottery analysis. On the other hand, the systematic topographical research of the Tisza region is uneven and patchy. The study provides insight into various research topics of different regions. The general notion “Gepidic” is used as a chronological concept (late 5th – early 6th centuries AD) referring to the archaeological material of the Hungarian Plain and the eastern Carpathian region.
