To define the role of the plasminogen activators (PAs) urokinase PA (uPA) and tissue PA (tPA) as well as the uPA receptor (uPAR) in arteriogenesis, we investigated their impact in a rabbit and mouse model of adaptive collateral artery growth. Collateral artery growth was induced by occlusion of the femoral artery in rabbit and wild-type (WT) mice and in mice with targeted inactivation of uPA (uPA-/-), tPA (tPA-/-), or uPAR (uPAR-/-). Northern blot results revealed a significant up-regulation of uPA but not uPAR or tPA in the early phase of arteriogenesis in rabbit and WT mice. This up-regulation on RNA level was followed by an increased protein level and enzymatic activity. Impaired perfusion recovery upon femoral artery ligation was observed by laser Doppler analysis in vivo in uPA-deficient mice but not in uPAR or tPA deficiency compared with WT mice. Immunohistochemical studies revealed an association of leukocyte infiltration with arteriogenesis in WT mice that was strongly reduced in uPA-/- but not in uPAR- or tPA-deficient mice. We conclude that arteriogenesis is promoted by an uPA-mediated infiltration of leukocytes that is not dependent on uPAR.

Human Activity Recognition (HAR) has a wide range of applications due to the widespread usage of acquisition devices such as smartphones and its ability to capture human activity data. The ability to retrieve deeply embedded information for precise detection and its interpretation has been transformed by breakthroughs in Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this paper, the time series dataset, acquired from Wireless Sensor Data Mining Lab (WISDM) Lab, is used to extract features of common human activities from a raw signal data of smartphone accelerometer. A 2D convolutional neural network is used to visualize the data.

Assez curieux ouvrage d'auteurs tunisiens de différentes confessions, dédié bizarrement à un ancien Ministre de la Justice de la République Française. Lecture osée ; c'est le moins que l'on puisse dire à la lecture de ce petit livre excessivement critique des principales sources musulmanes érudites. Peut-on ou doit-on rejeter toutes les traditions de l'Islam orthodoxe pour plaire à un lectorat profane ? La traduction des versets coraniques est assez approximative. Rappelons que la Tunisie, à l'apparition de ce livre, est sous protectorat français depuis 1881 L'action voile l'intention ....
