Female circumcision, describe by the WHO as FGM, is a common practice in Africa. Followers of most religions in Africa practice FGM but it is generally described as an Islamic practice. In this paper, I show that FGM is not an Islamic practice. I go further and show that it is against Islamic teachings.

یہ کتاب 2011ء میں "باب العلم ریسرچ فاؤنڈیشن" کے زیرِ اہتمام شائع کی گئی۔ مرزا غلام احمد قادیانی اور موصوف کی قادیانی تحریک کے مختلف پہلوؤں کا جائزہ اِس تصنیف کے اندر نفسیاتی اعتبار سے لیا گیا ہے اور یہ سمجھنے کی کوشش کی گئی ہے کہ آیا کہ ایسے کون سے نفسیاتی عارضے مرزا صاحب کو لاحق تھے جن کے زیرِ اثر وہ خود کو نبی، رسول، مسیحِ موعود، مہدی اور خُدا کے اوتار کی حیثیت میں دیکھتے اور سمجھتے رہے۔ راقم الحروف نے اِس کتاب میں جو اسلوب استعمال کیا ہے وہ احترام کے صیغے کے اندر رہ کر قلمکاری پر مبنی ہے، کیونکہ عمومی مزاج میں اِس عُنصر کی کمی پائی جاتی ہے۔ یہ کتاب اگرچہ ضخامت کے اعتبار سے مختصر ہے، تاہم تحقیق کا معیار اور پیش کردہ مواد عالمی معیارات کے عین مطابق ہے اور مطالعہ کے دوران قارئین کی دلچسپی کہیں بھی بھٹکنے نہیں پاتی۔

مرزا صاحب کی قادیانی تحریک کی تحلیلِ نفسی کے اِس عمل میں اِس بات کا جائزہ لینے کی بھی کوشش کی گئی ہے کہ کون سے ایسے وہ نفسیاتی عارضے ہیں جنہیں مرزا صاحب نے "وحی والہام" کے نام پر
اپنی مذہبی منہج وتحریک کا فکری مزاج تشکیل دینے کے لیے اپنے مُقتدیان کو منتقل کر دیا اور آج اُن کے دفاع میں کس قسم کی تاویلات قادیانی جماعت کی طرف سے استعمال کی جا رہی ہیں۔ یہ کتاب "ختمِ نبوت ﷺ" کے موضوع پر محدود صفحات میں ایک جامع ترین تحریر اور عُمدہ ترین خدمتِ دین ہے! (الحمد اللہ)۔

1 The paper intends to present a political analysis of Ahmadi issue and examine the relation between nationalism and State's policy in the disintegration of the national identity of Ahmadi community in Pakistan. This would be done by focusing on state's evolution and relation with the minority community leading to exclusion from Muslim citizenship. The paper will be divided into 3 parts. The first part will deal with Pakistani nationalism as a phenomenon and foundations of Ahmadiyya movement and early days of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's prominence. The second part will inspect interaction of Ahmadis with nationalist politics of India and moreover their contribution in Pakistan (various areas). The section will deal with Ahmadiyya political disenfranchisement post-1973 constitutional amendment, tarnishing national identity of the community & reducing their status to that of a half citizen.

This article focuses on the local tradition of Ahmadiyya in West Java in the form of Sundanese oral literature entitled Pupujian Imam Mahdi, the song of praise of the Mahdi. It is not only related to strengthening the so-called "Sundanese Ahmadiyya" identity through cultural acculturation, but also an important channel in their acceptances in regions with the largest adherents in Indonesia. Through literary and cultural identity analysis, I argue that the literary and cultural channels contributed to the acceptance of minority groups in Indonesia. Through pupujian Imam Mahdi, for instance, Ahmadiyya teachings on the messianistic figure were acculturated into the Sundanese literary tradition. It becomes a frame of movement towards the formation of the Sundanese Ahmadiyah identity. The pupujian is used to support their existences through the same cultural representation as other Sundanese people. It is a cultural strategy carried out by the most controversial minority group among the rejection of the most groups. This study is also important in revealing Ahmadiyya's contribution to the Sundanese local culture which may not be recognized by others. It actually becomes a peculiarity of Ahmadiyya identity in the Indonesian archipelago which is different from other cultural representation of Ahmadiyya in various regions in the world. This paper seeks to contribute towards a more nuanced political history of the unfolding events before and during partition of the sub-continent. The state of Pakistan was crafted in a unique manner out of sub-continent. Being a colonial empire, the presence of diverse cultures and religions and thus multiple religious thought, informed a number of ideologies before the imminent founding of Pakistan. Due to this diversity the history, the future vision for the sub-continent was a contested one among the diverse actors, and the final culmination into what became known as the two-nation theory, was a last resort in a complex setting. The focus of this paper will be to analyse the writings and thoughts of Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (1889-1965) in the political context around the calls for political separatism and independence from the colonial empire. Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad was a spiritual leader and he considered his position as Khalifa as a purely religious position. However, his views and activism informed by his religious philosophy informed a narrative and his activism had an impact on the political outcome in 1947. Consequently, Mahmud Ahmad’s political contribution and influence towards Pakistan’s politics and to what extent he can be called a nation-maker, will be the subject of this analyses.
