Abstract:
Spell 608 of the Coffin Texts is known by a single copy on the bottom of a coffin from Meir. It has two parts. In the second, the different divinities in connection with weaving are put in relation with the elaboration of the yarn and the making of the fabric. The paper proposes a translation of the various technical terms, based on a comparison with contemporary iconographic sources. A second paper, «Le linceul d'étoffe idémi d'après le TP 453, le TS 608 et le rituel d'Abydos», published in the Jubilee of the French Archaeological Mission of Saqqâra (1963-2013), focuses on contrary to the ritual aspect, object of the first part of this spell.
