The construction of an atypical author in contemporary
Catalonia: Najat El Hachmi in the light of her works and mass media promotion

This work presents an approach in Polish to the authorial figure of Najat El Hachmi,
a Catalan-Amazigh writer, in the context of contemporary literary output in Catalan
by non-native authors. El Hachmi’s works are revisited and re-analyzed by
taking into account the relationships and overlaps between her public discourse
featured in different paratexts, opinions expressed by reputable literary critics in
widespread publications, and significant elements of her works.
